I was told that the shop was the last in Bendigo to have a sawdust floor before it was demolished in 96.

My grandfather Jack Fasso worked for Friswell butchers back in the 1930-40s. Always spoke very highly of them.

Also Ewing amd Foch Williamson St. Now mower repair shop in front of Ewing Oval. Bill Ewing was onetime mayor of Bendigo. Seems as though being a butcher was a key to being mayor.

Thank you Maree, Couldn't find any more photos of Youla's butchers which was obviously opposite the Rising Sun. There was a Lindy Youla in the class below me at primary school.

Thanks John, so Brett Jones was your uncle? Dean Wilkinson in Bendigo had all the Gittens photos and clips. His GF was Ray Worner I think.

@@bendigocinescope1530 As far as I know his name was Bert Jones, I always knew him as Uncle Bert. Of course it could have been Gilbert, Herbert, Bertrand or something else.
