The new North Face VECTIV Eminus is a super surprising shoe given that it fits at the bottom of North Face's trail line price-wise. It packs a super comfortable punch and has plenty of sturdy grip - I'm really liking this shoe! What do you think of the sleeper hit?

The new North Face Vectiv Eminus was a HUGE surprise and has quickly become one of my favorites this year. Of course there are some caveats (aren't there always) that may make/break for many of you. Does the Eminus look like something you'd try? *NOTE*- ignore the “Try” in the review, should be a “Buy” haha!
Sounds like a good one to try. It’s not orange!
It's awesome to hear that you like the outsole compound on the Eminus. I ran/hiked 11mi 3600ft in my new Vectiv Enduris yesterday. I loved the fit, rocker, cushion and lockdown. I did not like the grip of the outsole on rocks and I slid several times.
Appreciate the awesome review GR always.
Just ordered mine this morning! Can’t wait to get them in.
The color way of this model isn't offered in the NF website. It isn't exactly like you reviewed. Not a criticism of you but just a bit disappointing that NF would send you a shoe to review in a they're not producing exactly.
This shoe is growing on me. Starting to like it. First few runs were rough until I used those extra lace holes. Now the pressure on the top of my foot is gone. I'm much slower in it because I can feel everything on the trail (rocky trails). It's going to be my casual trail shoe for sure.
How did more lace holes reduce pressure? I bought my normal size 11, and had to cut the kevlar to loosen it up on my upper left foot
Just bought on your recommendation. Picked up on a sale for €70, an insane deal!
I absolutely love this shoe. I change between this one and the speedgoat on what I am running.
I grabbed a vective pair last year on sale. I work on my feet at a golf course. The new foams are surely a little softer.
Just ordered one after your review (currently 40% +10% off by North Face)
My north face vectiv enduris waterproof with the 5mm lugs are super grippy and I ran in them all winter.
I have been waiting for more ppl to get to these… I think this is only the second review I have seen.
It’s like they hit the market before the reviewers got their hands on them.. hmmm
Great review as usual. One note: you say BUY subs say TRY.
Just bought a pair for £69.00, discounted from £115.00 from North face in the Uk so has to be worth a try in my rotation!
Great deal!!
little maybe editing hitch - you say "buy" but the graphic says "try"?
Ack! Good eye! It SHOULD Say "Buy"!
@@TheGingerRunner but why? 👀
Oooh much excite! Any idea why TNF seems to use short lugs on all their shoes? I want some 5mm+! After spending so much time with the incredible Vibram Megagrip I'm tentative to try anything less on the technical and wet New England trails
Check out the FutureLight versions of the Enduris for example - deeper lugs and water proof material. Use them a lot when it gets sloppy!
Just got mine for 80$ and i like them more than my speedgoat 4
Think the Eminus would perform well in a 100 mile race? Trails are well groomed, undulating, with plenty of tree roots.
Did you have any drainage issues? I love the vectiv line!
However, they always turned squishy after any sort of moisture formed inside the shoe.
I hate to say what everyone else does... but great review. This sounds strikingly familiar to the Patagonia Everlong and/or the Pure Grit version one, both wistful favorites from the past that've never been duplicated. Does this in fact compare, as something like the Everlong would be great? Trying to keep this short and to the point. Thanks!
Oh man, the original Pure Grit - ran my first ultra in those! Great comparison, though these feel a lot more comfortable and the grip is solid (vs how terribly abysmal the PG1s were!)
Challenging the challenger you think ? I have to try, thank for the review 😉
Squishier than those - very reminiscent of the Challenger v1 now that I think about it!
Firrrrrst TNF Vectiv Enduris is in my top 3 trail shoes, and I'm definitely curious about more trail shoes from TNF! Any chance you'll review the Vectiv Enduris 2?
Definitely have their new versions heading into rotation, this was the first and it was a super pleasant surprise!
@@TheGingerRunner I bought the Vective Enduris 1 on your recommendation and super love it! Can't wait for your review of the Enduris 2.
@@justin3017 I ALSO bought the Vectiv Enduris because of Ethan’s review 😁 I’m going to try it out as my racing shoe for the Wy’east Howl 100k next Saturday!
@@ohaiitsarielle I love the Enduris 1. I just pulled the trigger and bought the Enduris 2 lol. I’ll let you know what I think when they come in. Good luck on your race!
Looks and sounds like Nike Trail competition!
Comfortable and enjoyable runnning experience but...after 320km/2months there are huge holes in my healcounter, where heels rub against the soft lining :(
Not going to mention the rocker? That's why I bought mine
Do the new ones not have kevlar? The breathability is amazing on last year's
I'm curious how much of the underfoot feels the TPU footbed rather than the EVA. I've experimented with Inov-8 boomerang insoles and they can make a world of difference especially over firmer midsoles.
These are super squishy so the TPU feels less impactful than it’s carbon counterpart up the line. Prob just some added protection is what I’m feeling. I like the boomerang insole a lot, I imagine they’d only add to the already squishy midsole.
How is the rock protection? I have some Asics trabucos which I like on soft ground but on gravel and rocky trails I get zinged alot. Would these be better?
gnarly
Solid Buy but on screen it's a Try! Anyway, nice review!!!
My mistake! Ack!
Trail ran in these a few times now... not a fan of the how high the foam is, makes ankle rolling more common. Too squishy for me.
Based on your review and its overall look -- it reminds me of the very first Nike Wildhorse. One of the best trail shoes ever imho.
I enjoyed the original WH but these are way squishier and the grip is awesome!
Sock game is on point 👌
Is the lack of stability due to your foot being so much wider than the shoe? The lateral side of your foot looks to really spill over
I think that’s due in part to the hill I’m standing on. No issues with that at all while running.
After this review I'm in a Big Shoe Dilema. I can buy only one. I'm between Zoomx Zegama and this one. help please.
Will you review the norda run 001 ??
Hopefully soon!
Run - so to speak - unless you have NARROW feet. Mine are not wide but found Very uncomfortable after 1/2 hour of time.
Good feel but try over a period of time as your feet may swell - maybe that's what is happening to mine.
Mine keep squeaking! Interior of foot near the arch.
That arch issue for shoes is a non starter for me. Cant feel any pressure up into my foot from below or I wont buy/wear. So unnatural mine as well put rocks in my shoes before I put them on

Fit true to size?
Same question here...
Can anyone tell me if these run big or small?
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks
Most people say they run a little big. That said, my normal size of 10 works for me. Love these shoes, very comfortable.
200 miles durability is an absolute no go for me. Everything under 400 miles is just laughable imho
I’m approaching 100 so I’m only predicting at this point. Time will tell!
11.9 oz.!! Wow, funny how things change. You use to ding shoes for gaining a modest amount of weight in an update and now your talking about a favorite shoe of the year without even mentioning the weight in dislikes. And it feels nothing like your shoe of the year in 2021?? Also, a lateral lean in a trail running shoe does not sound like a good idea. 🤷♂️
These shoes are so bad. I bought last year and its nose glue is not good. Even if i did not use it at outdoor its nose opened. I don't recommend this shoes. Don't buy this model . Don't but The North Face. I can send a picture about this problem
Weird, I have 400+ miles on 2 different pairs of these and have had no problems with durability.
