Damn!! This/these episode(s) with Dr. Gibson on this subject were SO welcome to me! My husband's older-than-me emotionally immature daughter terrorised our lives for over 30 years. Sadly, my husband never got to listen to these very informative conversations because he passed before you recorded them. I always thought the daughter, an only child, was the way she was because her father enabled her. Now, I realise the label 'emotionally immature' defines her perfectly. Thanks to what Lindsay says, I no longer feel guilt for not wanting to be around the daughter or for shutting down in her presence. OMG, pretty much every time we saw her she would whip up a temper tantrum (throwing things, slamming doors, screaming...) out of thin air, leaving us feeling completely drained and totally stunned. Standing up to someone like this takes courage and strength because they will do all they can to make you believe that YOU are the one with the problem. Is there a book on dealing /coping with such people?
