An Introduction To The Shodasavarga (Divisional Charts) Of Vedic Astrology

- This is an intro class on the divisional charts, or vargas, of Vedic Astrology. In Jyotish we do not just have one chart, we have 16 charts, of which the normal birth chart is just the first one! I also talk about how there is evidence that greek and western astrology traditions also had vargas at one point.
But currently Indian traditions of Astrology are the only ones that still hold this knowledge.
As a result, vargas are one of the important components of Jyotish that distinguish it from other predictive systems. Vargas are the key to doing really accurate predictive astrology, and as I explain here, they are the reason that twins born minutes apart have different lives.
This is an excerpt from my Jyotish and Yogic Philosophy course that is currently ongoing. It is pretty simple and straightforward. A very concise and articulate description of how the Vargas work, Corey. Thank you so much! I am glad you mentioned the need to give a precise birth time regarding the last grouping and wonder how many people's birth charts are accurate enough to include them because even when you have a hospital record, it can be out by a few minutes. Is the precise birth time said to occur when you draw your first breath? My Mother and her brother were twins and they led totally different lives but ended up living right next door to each other when they were both in their nineties!
Yes the precises time is the first breath, thats when the spirit enters. See that would be a really fun one to look at with the vargas, the Mother and brother thing!
From what I have been told by other astrologers they are pretty accurate with the birth certificates, down to within a few seconds usually of that babies first breath. I usually can trust the birth certificate down to the minute, but yes even then you want to be careful bc the d60 will change twice in a minute, so thats still really not good enough. So anytime a midwife or someone is going to deliver a baby have them note the exact second of the first breath if possible.
Thanks for confirming that, Corey. My mother and her brother are both English and for some reason UK Birth Certificates don't record the time of birth so unfortunately I don't have a record of their times. I made sure to get my children's and grandchildren's times (all born in the UK) written down but none of them are twins.@@EyeOfTheVeda

I live by the Lemminkäinen temple here and my friend has full belief and is devoted to keeping the place. Personally I believe it is nonsense. I also knew his ex wife who has passed now. Ior Bock was not of healthy mind was my understanding. Which does not mean he was"wrong". For me it just does not make sense.
