Love your studio! About the pendant motor/flexshaft thing: it actually just so happened to be - or rather have both. It's a pendant motor with a flexible shaft; it also has a hand-piece! Pretty much, all of the above! You can eliminate that whole issue by using a micromotor instead of that miserably uncomfortable, arm exhausting, not very flexible flex shaft. 😂 Great channel! I enjoy learning from you. 🌺
In the US a doming block is a block used for doming (forming a dome shape). What you have there looks like a bezel (forming) block for graduated square bezels. Is forming a square called "doming" in South Africa? "Wet & Dry" is a type of sandpaper (as opposed to snadoaper that will just fall aprta if ut gets wet, I suppose). 😅 Using adjectives in place of nouns seems a common thing in various languages/dialects/cultures as we move across borders - I've found that to be true. It is amusing 😊. Absolutely gorgeous fabrication!

Cheers Flying Chef - it’s a worm hole. I’m slowly starting to realize that 50% of the problem might be my vocabulary 😂 I might just have an onslaught of South African goldsmiths next defending tools I might have known for years as something else. But seriously, we need an international guide on this. I have found even suppliers in the uk using different terminology and it’s a nightmare to navigate 🧐

Based on this technique, how do you prevent the circle that you soldered together from coming apart while punching it into shape? I'm having trouble with using a round punch. Thanks for great tutorials! :)

Could you tell me how do you like your dado laser welder? Is it good enough for welding tiny chains and hollow stuff or it doest have good control and stability with beam and power parameters? Currently I am using Lamper Puk welder and its good overall but not precise enought for very very fine repairs and also sometime having to connect groud wire is in the way.
You make good quality content and I really enjoy it. Thanks!

Hey Marek, thanks for that. I’ve not messed around too much with the Dado yet. Mainly been useful for setting up jobs pre solder. I will have a deep dive and do a video on it to let everybody know what I think of it.

How thick was the sheet you used for the collet ?

Thanks for the question - I’m having to dig deep here but I’d usually work around 0.8mm for something like this. Hope this helps.

you don't say the diameter of the round shape or how you calculated that!

Sorry about that. I do try and include the weights and measurements in the later videos. It’s been such a learning curve all this.
