Bryce Young ran for a 6 yard touchdown. Aaron Rodgers ran for 45 on 6 carries, long of 18. Bo Nix ran for 16 on 3rd and 5 and a 1st. Anthony Richardson ran for a touchdown. Josh Allen ran for 68 yards and 2 TDs. Jared Goff ran for 10 on 3rd and 10 for a 1st. Jalen Hurts ran for 45, long of 23, and a TD. Drake Maye ran for a TD. Baker Mayfield ran for 21 on 3rd and 5, 1st down and led to a FG. The examples are endless. So being reductivist and saying "well he threw for 350 yards so he can't have been the problem" is a bad take. The quarterbacks who beat Georgia, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, they didn't throw for 350, but they ran the ball effectively, which opened up the RPO game so that their running backs also ran the ball effectively, they chewed clock and beat Georgia's defense up. Quinn has to throw for 350 and 0 picks because he is missing a critical dimension of the modern game of football.
I didn't realize the Texas offense was happy scoring less than 20 a game now, because that's what they're getting with Ewers the last month plus. This isn't like earlier in the season where there was a "QB controversy" because arch played well, this is a why are continuing on with not just Ewers but with ANY current college QB at 70% when we can just put arch in and immediately become more effective on deep balls, in the redzone, and with the threat of QB run. I truly don't understand what they're doing, if Clemson gets ahead and they wait too long to put arch in, that could just be their season. But hey, Texas is the last team i would ever root for in college so they can just keep doing what they're doing i guess! 😁
