From France, to Canada, forcibly removed from there by the British, some settled in Louisiana and evolved as a distinct culture that gives us gems like this. Make no mistake the United States is richer for this thread in the fabric of our country.
Great stuff (and fast). Traveling in Louisana in 1996, I stopped in a little music store. After chatting with the elderly proprietor, he gifted me with promo photos of Jo-el, other Cajun and Creole musicians (and a young Dolly Parton) He was Eddie Shuler of Goldband Records who had recorded each of them. Alas, I've since given them all away, years ago. C'est la vie. ;) I found the Cajun people to be very hospitable, I had some nice jams down there. Maybe go again one of these days.
Marc's accordions are excellent, and almost a spitting image of Juniors accordions. Mark Savoy taught Junior Martin how to make a quality instrument, and Jr. gives Mark all the credit for that. I have played and own both. Tone wise and response are almost identical. The inlay work on both are really nice, but I prefer Juniors, and I also prefer Juniors tuning, however they both use the same Italian reeds, and could be tuned the same. I prefer Juniors accordions, but thats just a personal thing.
Virtuoso playing, at a speed only few can handle. Although I must say, I think the feel of the song would be more accessible to a slower tempo. Just my opinion.
RIP Jo-El Sonnier.

@@MultiChaga Should that not be the infinitive, 'parler'?
