    In Texas we have Kroger which is the same as this store because I use to wear that same blue cover. I don’t work there any more now they can wear scrubs.
    I took my test literally when my Two years was up. I passed. My test had a lot of law questions and what I felt was pharmacist questions like logging c2. We didn’t do that at my job so I winged those questions. The practice test helped a lot as well. I took a lot of free ones and when it was nearly time to schedule my ptcb I paid for a few just to see what the difference was. I didn’t notice any lol.
    Now it’s been 9 years and I recently just had to renew my ptcb and my state. I don’t practice currently but I keep my certification and license in good standing.

    But I have some questions:
    1- I'm deaf and I cannot talk on phone so I'm not able to be a pharmacy technician ?
    2- If have I a hearing dog he/she is able for stay in a pharmacy?
    3- At a phamarcy technician course is there many mathematics,chemistry and physics?

    Hi Grace! Thanks for filming this. I am in the process of getting my license to so I can be a pharmacy tech after a very long time as a stay at home mom. Needless to say I am petrified but your video helped me calm down a little :) I have had no training whatsoever besides dealing with insurance companies, dr's offices and prescriptions in my own life and with my family so I'm a little nervous to hit the ground running. I have a question: When you are filling those scripts, do you have to translate the dr's order and do the math for the amount needed? Also, do you have any advice for me on things I could be doing while I wait for my licensure to come through that would help me prepare? Thanks again for your video!

    • @GraceLien
      @GraceLien  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! I'm glad my video helped you feel better about being a pharmacy tech! As for calculating you do have to calculate day supply when doing data for instance. But you do that before you fill the prescription. Luckily a lot of that is 30, 60, or 90 days cause insurance can be specific and that's approximately a month depending on which month you're in. As for things to do, I'm not yet certified but going though drugs, brand, and indications have always helped me. 😀

    Pro tip, work for a private pharmacy, or a good company..or a slow pharmacy, cause it ain’t fun when you push out 500-600 scripts a day while dealing with a crazy drive through, loads of vaccines and people complaining about waiting for just 10 minutes to 20 minutes….also for the love of god, mark your open bottles and peel the whole aluminum off with your spatula

      There is a lot of basic arithmetic calculating day and month supplies. But it's pretty easy like 2 times a day or take 3 tabd everyday. I find it pretty easy but if multiplication or fractions confuse, then definitely brush up.

    Hello, I'm an international student preparing for the pharmacy technician program. I'm just asking you politely, and never intend to ask any kind of personal info, but where is the country that you're staying? The reason I'm asking you this is because I'm searching about pharm techs in Ontario, Canada, but lots of video clips on youtube, mostly, are from the United States.. So I was curious where you're filming the clips at the moment:) Thanks!

    hi Grace. What are you usually dealing with the insurance? Can you share please?

    • @GraceLien
      @GraceLien  Рік тому +2

      Yes? I deal with a lot of insurance related issues from billing and adjudication to using discount cards with insurance and coordination of benefits. Sometimes insurances only cover brand vs. generic or they may only fill for 30 days. Difficult insurance things may require a prior authorization where the doctor has to explain why a patient is on a certain med while other may be COB billing failures. I honestly hat this part of my job, but I definitely have seen many insurances related situations. Every year plans may also change from price, day supply acceptance, meds covered, deductibles, and copays for instance as well.
