It’s crazy cuz the idea rn is if the Celtics get into close games, they are playing down to the opponent, but if they aren’t in close games they aren’t being battle tested. Last night was a huge game for the Celtics because the grit and toughness they showed when it looked bleak was huge. They were coming off not having played a basketball game in 7 days. That’s serious rust that can build.
Whatever makes the Celtics look the worst is the narrative. They’re not the newness, so they’re obviously a fraudulent trash team no matter what happens. Don’t you know how this goes by now?
At this point I rather the media not even cover the Celtics. No matter how much success this team has its only negative takes about them. And I have never seen a winning coach get disrespected like Joe Mazzulla. Ime Udoka got fired on his own. And the Celtics were doing the same thing under Brad Stevens. But because they made the Finals in one year of having Udoka, all of a sudden he's Phil Jackson now. Let's see how far he can get that Houston Rockets team

Brockman is the worst kind of fan. Turns the game off then isn’t happy when we win against all odds down 3 with 10 to go. Cries about wanting tatum to show up…HE DID! He scored the second most overtime points in Celtics postseason history! He’s such a miserable person.
So if the Celtics blow out teams, they suck because they haven't been tested? If they come back from behind, they suck because the game shouldn't have been close?

They suck because they are easily odds favorites to win a title. Just like last year and just like when they choked against the Warriors. They will continue to suck until they win the trophy. No matter who they play, they will throw up bricks in pressure situations. We all have witnessed Tatem and Brown in high pressure games. They have nothing in high pressure games.

I thought Mazzula was horrible! Was totally out coached by Carlisle and he doesn't know how to make any adjustments at all! Horford played 40 minutes cause Kornet is unplayable in this series and he didn't even try playing a small ball lineup of Tatum at the 5 smh

Celtics are 9-2 in the postseason and 7 wins away from the title.
Over the past 20 seasons, the champion has averaged 6 playoff losses.
That means the Celtics are ahead of schedule, getting 7 wins and giving up 4 losses is reasonable even for this team which all the haters say the sky is falling even after wins.
I watched the whole game from start to finish. Thats what a fan does. We don't shut it off early. We don't leave the stadium 🏟️ .

Brockman, you are a prime example of the fan I don’t respect. There are fans that NEVER stop watching games because they would rather go down with the Celtics in a loss. Well said! Huge Celtics fan, win or lose I’m sticking by my team. I know Brockman is annoyed with the Celts sometimes getting in their own way over the last several seasons…so are the rest of Celtics nation 😂 But that doesn’t mean we don’t love our team whether it’s a win or lost. Proud of the guys for hanging in there & battling when the Pacers were pushing the game at their desired pace. Overall, should be a fun & competitive series between two great teams. Hoping my guys get another shot at the finals…I’d love to see Big Al get his 1st ring!
@@camerontromba1534 16 years is a long time. That's the last Celtic title. With this seasons record and the talent they have there are no excuses this season. Last season's champs are gone. Every team left in this post season other than Boston is young and unproven. Anything less than a title is brutal.

That's a great point that hadn't occurred to me, boston not having played a game of real significance for so long. Not even the first two rounds of the playoffs but even all the way back to the last few weeks of the regular season. Who knows, maybe this game one was the real wake up call the team needed. Who knows.

The Pacers had an insane shooting night and the Celtics couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat for long stretches and the Pacers still lost. That was more than likely the worst game the Celtics will play this series and they lost. Demoralizing defeat
You DO know the Pacers beat them during the regular season. Right? They may well win this series, but the idea that they can't be BEATEN is not only wrong, but dangerous and I'm SURE the team knows better.
... and the refs spotted the Celtics 21 free throws to almost NONE, and it STILL took a colossal meltdown by the Pacers to win. That's why they didn't look particularly happy. That shows their professionalism.
@@carmens3685 the Pacers turned it over 22 times and you’re blaming the refs? Only 27% of the Pacers shots came at the rim and 17% of those were on the fast break. They took midrange jumpers and 3’s all night. There were maybe 3 or 4 plays where they attacked the rim and foul could have been called but they weren’t given the benefit of the doubt because the Pacers hadn’t been attacking the rim all game
I'm with Brockman on this one. I had Super Bowl 51 turned off. Checked ESPN right before the Amendola 4th down conversion in the 3rd quarter. Falcons win percentage at that was 98.1... Biblically, there is no mention of the word "luck." Simply put, everything has a chance of happening.

As much as it would fill me with joy to watch BOS get bounced, the Pacers just squander game one to much better team. They aren't last seasons' Heat and I don't believe they can punch above their weight four out of the next six.

Brockman, get a grip. Seriously, get a grip. Indiana shot out of their minds. Boston did not shoot great from 3 but still found a way to win. We played great defense, and the Pacers are not going to shoot that way every night.
Also, sweeping every series by 30 points a game is not realistic. Oh, we suck at home in the playoffs. We’re 5-2 at home so far this year in the playoffs and closed out both previous series in game 5 at home. We have actually played well so far at home in the playoffs this year.
And we’re without a critical player still. But instead of being glad we’re finding ways to get it done and take care of business anyway, we’re going to be all mad and critical that we’re not winning every single game in blowout fashion. At the end of the day we’re 9-2 in the playoffs so far this year. What do you want?
