this guys are magic... they don't need those flashy lights and a BIG show to rock the shit out to me and to millions of people, great band of the 80's, BEST band of the 90's and BEST BEST band of the 00's... CHILI PEPPERS FOR LIFE
RHCP are the simplest band ever they don't want to be known as rock stars they just want to be known as musician who are true to them selfs and true about music in general.I love these guys true spiritual artist at best :)
Actually the video is from the DVD "Off the map" which I edited. And to be precise, Off the map has been built from the US tour 2000 ! And since I only put videos unreleased from my drawer ...
I love coming to videos posted before John left the second time around lol - people commenting on here had no idea that he left and then came back again - I can almost block it out of my mind the last decade or so lol ;) Thanks for uploading!!!
Well said Romans, it took me a long time to really appreciate how good of a drummer he is. Imagine how hard it would be to keep up with flea and john!! Chad does such a good job and is a VITAL member of the group. Long live chad and the peppers. I like your statement about him staying in the pocket. He does a great job amongst other great musicians. This band kicks way too much ass
Hi Arnaud! It's been 13 years o so since I first watched this clip on this channel and felt AWESOME knowing there's more songs around from Off The Map. Since then, UA-cam's video quality upgraded a lot. Is there a possibility for this (and other clips, if you have) to be uploaded in glorious-480p? Thanks!
I fuckin' love this song, that video shows wonderful power of that composition :) When i was playing it with my band, i fell in love with chorus... It's fuckin' funky and good to improvisation on bass. You might imagine us when we played it alive... That was awsome experience :) And great fun!
For this DVD they edited 2 separate concerts together. You can see on some of the vids John had his tele and strat. Watch them do blood sugar sex magik, he has both
@rhcpkzi Yeah, Chad gets overlooked a lot but he's really an incredible musician and listener. Most people don't even mention (and maybe don't even notice) how well he mimics and compliments the rhythms of the guitar and bass licks that are thrown out there during jams. He'll pick up on those accents and stay IN THE POCKET the entire time. He is one HELL of a drummer and people should give him more props.
Flea is ridiculous he seriously played the Fuck out of that bass. He is the number 1 bassist in my book!! That bass is just like another body part to him. I'm blown away by this phenomenon. Can't believe someone can play this good.
It's fun to see the cables as well. Sometimes they use cables for the instruments, sometimes not, all due to the fact that they shot two concerts. Sometimes Chad hits a cymbal and there's no cymbal sound...
ok i don't know if i'm the only one who's noticed this, but watch from 35-40. at 36, his shirt is on, and at 37 the camera angle switches and it's off. it happens like, 3 or four times.
@BioDrums -- Good luck with that LOL I have met John Frusciante before, and he is a little strange. He sometimes will go for many days, or even weeks without taking a shower. When I briefly met him briefly he seemed to be nice, but very shy.

Wow...best version of this song...that jam...in every aspect...

this is such a brilliantly written song. the soft bits of the verse lead so well to the chorus then that interlude is just pure savage!!

SICK jam, Frusciante and Flea just become ONE masterpiece!
We don't forget you !!! Hillel !!!!
Anyone noticed how Flea gets frustrated at Anthony for singing during his bass solo, before John goes off? Haha 1:52

For this DVD they edited 2 separate concerts together. You can see on some of the vids John had his tele and strat. Watch them do blood sugar sex magik, he has both
And, just so you know, he is one of the most sought after session drummers in the US.
@rhcpkzi

It's from the same tour but it's not on the DVD. It was a different gig. Though the DVD looks like a few gigs in one x
jeez thats a fucking disgustingly awesome jam towards the end, you could tell flea and john have a such a great chemistry
@aguuus123 because the dvd is a compilation of 2 concerts and they assembled the video
We miss you Slim!!! RIP x
same with me, incredible tribute for hillel
i wish they did my lovely man at slane
sure, the clip has been made from 40 shows during the US tour 2000
John is back
I think John looks younger now than the way he looked back then
Where was this recorded? I saw them at Nissan Pavillion with Foo Fighters on that tour (my first concert)
tell me about it. love it, every second
favorite rhco song everrrrrrr
strap or strat? if you meant strat, then its a 1969 (i think) fender stratocaster.
is there a video of a full concert with this song in it with real footage? understand? like slane castle for example or something like that
Flea and John are so sweet together :D
is there a video for the actual full concert that this video is from and this music
ethan harris off the map dvd?
