Midori (the blond guitarist) has the nickname "crazy shredder" and this for a good reason. I recommend "Soldier stands solitarily" (live 2023); it is a real banger and perhaps their fastest song. They have a lot of great songs but this one has become one of my favourites.

Welcome to the 8th Wonder of the World!!!!! This show was the first show I saw that got me hooked. The intro song, Thunder Vengeance, is one of the best concert intros I have seen in a long time. The song itself is one of their Thrashier songs and is awesome!!! They just did some shows in the U.S. and Korea. With this song, they start off by getting the crowd into the song. There is a video of the Korean show, a outdoor show, where Lovebites goes out into the crowd while playing this song. They have come a long way in their stage performance and their new music is getting even better.

Yup, Midori is my favorite too - her charisma and guitar ability is off the charts. Although, now that they have a new bass player, Fami, I think she is now becoming my new favorite. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. There are so many talented all-female bands in Japan, but in my opinion Lovebites are the finest. So much incredible talent. ‘Holy War’ is their most viewed on UA-cam, but all of their songs are great. To see how well Miyako (dark haired guitarist) can also play the grand piano, check out ‘Swansong with the Chopin Intro’. I was privileged to see them live in London in July.

Each song is kind of different, expect to be surprised, all good songs, some of them real masterpieces, no fillers, no weak songs, no weak band member (when the founding bassist left for personal reasons, they found a 20 yo prodigy to fill that spot with a worldwide audition of 250+ participants). Way back early 90's when glamrock or metal was much bigger in the western counterpart...I was introduced to a Japanese heavy metal band called Loudness...it was then I knew the Japanese is ahead of the time..there were always there..but it was not much known about..their talent was top notch.

This was an excellent live performance of a rather moderate song by them! Midori (the blond guitarist) has the nickname "crazy shredder" and this for a good reason. I recommend "Soldier stands solitarily" (live 2023); it is a real banger and perhaps their fastest song. They have a lot of great songs but this one has become one of my favourites.

They just did some shows in the U.S. and Korea. With this song, they start off by getting the crowd into the song. There is a video of the Korean show, a outdoor show, where Lovebites goes out into the crowd while playing this song. They have come a long way in their stage performance and their new music is getting even better.

Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They also played their first US shows this year in September.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs.

I was disappointed listening to my favorite classic metal bands until I discovered LOVEBITES thanks to another great Japanese metal band named BABYMETAL.

Asami is the lead singer. Haruna is the drummer. Midori is the guitar player with blonde color hair.
Miyako is the guitar player with dark hair.
Miho is the bass player and founder of the group. She wrote many LOVEBITES songs. She left the band for personal reasons.
The new bass player is Fami. She is the youngest of the group and is very talented.
One of their latest live videos is Soldier Stands Solidarity. A faster and harder songs from the band.

Weclome to Lovebites! My favorite band of all time! I think they're the best metal band in the world honestly, but I am biased haha. I'm glad you enjoyed them. You'll really enjoy their performances and their songs. They have quite a range of styles. Asami is a great singer. She has even more range in other songs. They are all incredibly talented. The one you like, her name is Midori. Her nickname is "Crazy Shredder" - they all gave each other nicknames. I subscribed so I can see other reactions you have to them. I think you'll really enjoy them!
What to listen to next from them depends on what you'd like to hear. I'll recommend a couple, but you can't go wrong choosing anything, and there should be many suggestions from other people too. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Miho (former bassist and founder of the band) once said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Japanese all-female rock/metal bands are so skillful and amazing. There are so many talented all-female bands in Japan, but in my opinion Lovebites are the finest. So much incredible talent. ‘Holy War’ is their most viewed on UA-cam, but all of their songs are great. To see how well Miyako (dark haired guitarist) can also play the grand piano, check out ‘Swansong with the Chopin Intro’. I was privileged to see them live in London in July.

Each song is kind of different, expect to be surprised, all good songs, some of them real masterpieces, no fillers, no weak songs, no weak band member (when the founding bassist left for personal reasons, they found a 20 yo prodigy to fill that spot with a worldwide audition of 250+ participants). LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.

Way back early 90's when glamrock or metal was much bigger in the western counterpart...I was introduced to a Japanese heavy metal band called Loudness...it was then I knew the Japanese is ahead of the time..there were always there..but it was not much known about..their talent was top notch.

LOVEBITES is a five-member all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). This was an excellent live performance of a rather moderate song by them! As regards their other songs, you can't go wrong with any of them. With Thrash Metal being my favourite "old school" metal genre, my personcal faves are "The Hammer of Wrath", "Break the Wall" (the live version from 2020!), "Set the World on Fire", "Dissonance" and "Soldier Stands Solitarily".
