  • Chris Lowe plays It's a Sin on the famous Wurlitzer organ in the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool. This is from the opening credits of the documentary "A Life in Pop" (2006) so it's intercut with footage from later on during it. #petshopboys #chrislowe #itsasin #wurlitzer #blackpool

I am sure you can arrange it for the right reasons, they're not just going to let anyone rock up and play. But a film crew and pre-arranged would be easy I would imaging for their own marketing and publicity. Also I am sure if you have a few million in the bank you could make a donation to their restoration fee and I'm sure they will let you have a play.

@@markylon you can pay for a package that includes a tour of the Wurlitzer from the small room under the stage where it resides when not I use, to riding on the bench with the organ to the stage and playing the thing. Not sure how much it costs but details will be on the website for the tower ballroom.

One may have that opinion but the Boys were so blessed and productive (they are the Mozarts of the 20th century) that I personally don't consider a cover as one of their flagship songs. But they did a great job hands down with it. I quote someone else from the same period: "Anything he lays his fingers on, turns to gold"

There is something magical about an organ, especially one of those and especially in that ballroom, when you hear it getting thrashed, the room is electric. That whole building is alive with nostalgia and that organ is its heart.
