I've always just really loved the contrast between the two. It makes it work. When Chris speaks up you know it's going to be either profound or hilarious. I have met them a couple of times, always have time for their fans and I like that, makes them even more special.
Yes, if you watch their interviews, you will see that Chris is very shy and reserved. It is interesting that even after such a long time, he could not get used to interviews, and he has been in the profession for almost 40 years.
It's a great interview coz Jonathan Ross has a very funny, genuinely innocent charm about his questions and Neil and Chris are two of the most genuine, wonderful Pop Stars on Earth!
@@CruceEntertainment Well, had it not been for the fact they are still producing music that people want, they could have retired, and taken up painting, or crochet. Bit of a silly question imo, or are you just trolling for a reaction cherub?
@rebeltvr6046 Also true. I think they got canceled in the US after the Domino Dancing video in the 80s, and despite their success, they were seen as niche. Their mid 90+ material is also not that great. Edit: Typo
They were "just another" pop star to me in the 80s, even though I liked the lead's voice and the excellent synth. Then I later admired their work for "Absolutely Fabulous", both because it was good and for a good show. Then I *cough* "acquired" a video of theirs, "Cubism in Concert". I love that they're still so with it, and even then seemed to understand the horrors of globalism that the world's experiencing right now by all the leftists... ...but thankfully, the populists are starting to rise, dragging them into the light. ... ...oh damn... went into a little rant there...
Actually in the 80s they looked like 18years old or something but they started they career not so young. Neil had 31 when they become world wide famous with west end girls and chris had 26. But they were so good looking and like cute, they look so young like those teen idols teenagers love to dream at, so i guess jonathan fell it was cool playing with their age and their physical changes because oh boy they were just too handsome
@ I was an east end boy then a west end boy. I always preferred to top. Especially after an excruciating ordeal with a handsome, black pilot who was hung like a horse.
Squirmy interview. They like having a bit of mystery about them, especially Chris, but this interviewer is trying to probe beneath the veil a bit too assertively in his eagerness to get laughs. It is easy to see why the Boys have such great creative chemistry. Neil is able to easily tap into his own vulnerabilities (or at least his lyrics suggest that; how many bad or annoying love affairs fill the pages of this man's personal journal?) while Chris plays the detached "I don't give a damn about all this crap" role. He appears to have been rousted from bed moments before the interview, LOL. Meanwhile, their usual brilliance shines forth in the ironically titled newish album "Hot Spot", which contains a familiar mix of compelling tunes along with a few clunkers. One song, however, stands out as it pulls off the curious and unlikely hat trick of all but prophesying the impending pandemic and economic crisis while still sounding like a buoyant PSB dance club record. It is called "Happy People"(living in a sad world) Even better than this track is a B side (which is much cooler than a few of the cuts that made it on the album) called "At Rock Bottom", which seems to expose the dark side of the disco ball or just life in general. Nevertheless, the album is a must have if you are, like myself, a long time fan.
Chris,s songs that he writes are absolutely fantastic. Hence why i ❤ him too bits neils voice is so sweet neil is now 70 chris is 65 on october 4th but one of them look it ❤psb forever

Neil is having a great time! And Chris too 😁

Well done to Neill Tennant for seeing through the Taylor Swift hype and calling out her music as bland.
All the way in the Caribbean from my country Trinidad the Pet Shop Boys are ..LEGENDARY 🔥🔥🔥
Same here in your neighbour island Barbados!
What a great duo...unique
Having a bad day so I needed some Chris and it worked😅 How can an adult man be just as cute as a little kitten?!?
I remember watching this on telly years ago. funny thing is now they are in their 60s now! and still pushing the hits out.

Neil's laugh

First time to see Chris‘ face without sunglasses 😎

I read an article that they were on the left themselves. I mean It also makes sense because they are LGBT and the right usually are against LGBT.
