Thanks for this discussion pastor Mike. I think to your points towards the end of the video, that many believers are still bound by legalism and performance for salvation, rather than resting in the finished work of Christ. So, when we fail and fall; we will always have brokenness within us until the day we move on to eternity but let us seek after His spirit to bring about the change with a deep revelation of His love and the righteousness imparted to us, and when we see these things, we can then turn from those things that don’t belong. Apart from Him dwells no good thing, my works are but filthy rags, and I’m only righteous because of Him. God bless for your continued shepherding of the flock :) 🐑

@@lightleadershipSo we're saved by faith and works. So how much time do I got to spend reading the Holy Bible and how many times do I have to pray a day, and how many times do I have to go to church (building) and how many people do I need to tell people about Jesus Christ, how many times do I have to ask Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins a week, to KEEP MY SALVATION. You say we must do something to keep our salvation, so is it faith + works to keep our salvation, because that is just what you said. It really sounds like your saying 2 different things. And if you don't believe your saying 2 different things then your ears are fooling you. God bless

Amen! Thank you for addressing this controversial topic. Once saved always saved is a false doctrine. If anyone of a differing opinion will take the time to investigate what the early Christians (1st and 2nd century believers) believed in regards to this matter, they would quickly find out that the early church did believe that a Christian could lose their salvation if they did not truly repent of their sin. Titus 2:11-12 defines grace as a teacher, teaching us to deny ungodliness and to live a righteous life in this present world. Hebrews chapter 6 clearly states (if we read it with an honest heart) that a person can fall away after receiving the Holy Spirit and lose their salvation. I have met many believers in my 50 years who use the "once saved always saved" doctrine to justify living in sin. They use that doctrine to excuse living in fornication, when the Bible clearly commands us to, "Flee Fornication..." (1st Corinthians 6:18) The Bible does not contradict itself. The Bible doesn't tell us that it's ok to live in fornication and to flee fornication at the same time. And this goes for any sin that the Bible lists. The grace of God is not just a covering to mask our sin. God is not blind, He sees our sin, believer or non-believer. The grace of God is powerful! The grace of God is able to conquer any and all sin. The grace of God is not to be used to justify lasciviousness, "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ." (Jude 1:4) The "once saved, always saved" doctrine turns the grace of God into lasciviousness, and attempts to turn preachers of righteousness into heretics. It attempts to set the Word of God at variance with itself. But it is not the Word of God that contradicts, it is your carnal reasoning that violates the Word of God. Jesus did not shed His blood so we could be free to sin, He shed His blood to free us from sin and the sting of sin. The sting of sin is death.

Mike thank you for speaking the truth. "Once saved always saved no matter how you live" is a terrible deception. It absolutely is possible to fall away. The Lukewarm church is spewed out. It isn't a "work" to not commit adultery. If a Christian does commit adultery, they must repent and turn back to God. The easy gospel is the wide road. The easy gospel is why there will be a great falling away. Thank you, God bless you.

This grieves my spirit. It is the LORD JESUS CHRIST who saves us,keeps us, and HE is our RIGHTEOUSNESS. To say we can lose the salvation HE graciously and freely bestowed on us,(when HE saved us) is to say we are not kept by the power of God. This is heresy. I humbly ask that you repent of this teaching and correct it to your flock as a pastor. 1 Peter 1:5; John 18:9.

Hi Vanessa, great question, I appreciate you responding. You need to understand the context of Hebrews 13:5-6. Please read the chapter and you will see that Gods abiding promise is conditional to those who seek and obey Him in love and faithfulness. Yes, Christians can fall away from the blessing and presence of God through wilful sin and disobedience, because they have a free will to choose. King Saul was anointed the first king of Israel and God's blessing was upon him as long as he continued to serve Him faithfully. Saul became proud and disobeyed God on more than one occasion until finally God rejected him and removed His Spirit from him. Saul left God before God left him. Hope that helps, God bless.

@@lightleadership@lightleadership Good luck with that. You cannot do enough good to enter paradise. There is no law for not sinning. Live by the law and you will die by the law. Dont confuse earthly chastisment of the believer with eternal chastisement. There is a big difference. Plesse revist your position. We are saved based on one man's obedience..that is Jesus. Your obedience or lack there of cannot help you where salvation is concerned. How many sins do you have to do for God to leave you??? God made a promise to never leave, therefore nothing i do or dont do can break that promise. It was not my promise. It is His. I rest in that. Saul was annointed for the office as King..it was not about his salvation, and God removed him from office.

We can't enter the Promised Land if we don't leave Egypt. Israel was delivered by the blood of the lamb, baptized, received covenant and the Holy Spirit, yet they failed to live the life of faith in the wilderness and did not enter the Promised Land, God's rest.
Their example was given to us to warn us so that we don't fail to live the life of faith.

Just read the earliest 1st century church...the disciples of the apostles like Polycarp, Ignatius and clement of rome. They clearly warned that if people dont live righteously in love by His Spirit they will perish as hypocrites.
Modern Christianity has many traditions in it that make void God's word and nullify it. Those who teach OSAS will have a lot to answer for. Without practical holiness by the Spirit, no man will see the Lord. Repentance isn't optional, obeying Jesus isnt optional. This is the minimum standard.
Jesus warned in so many places its not those who call him Lord that will be saved but those that actually DO his teachings. True profession of faith is in action not merely our lips.
There is coming a judgement by our works and by our words we will be justified or condemned for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
God won't be mocked. Narrow is the way to life and few there be that find it. Love trust in and obey the Lord. This alone is the path to eternal life. Gids grace and Spirit will make you truly loving obedient and righteous in this life, just like Jesus - you must abide daily in him.
Those God counts righteous by faith in His son Jesus, He makes righteous by His Spirit, here and now. A practical righteousness identical to Jesus, for the Spirit who is God works in and through us, a true practical righteousness (life of loving obedience to Jesus) that comes from God by faith.

Hello Mike! Thanks for the perfect words of the gospel. I do agree that time is accelerating. All who believe in Christ Jesus, confessing him as their Saviour, are the ones who receive from him, like Mary did. As we rest in Jesus to hear and receive his word, we do the ONE thing. I understand those who are blotted out of the book of the living do not worship the Lord. They turn to things of the world and away from the grace of Jesus. For those who believe upon Christ Jesus, and worship him, they are safe and sealed, not to be judged by God, but will be judged By Christ Jesus after the rapture. I understand believers are not appointed to wrath. Romans 5:8-9 KJV
[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. God Bless you, Julie, and your family.☦️💕

"That easy grace gospel..." Just saying for myself -- I believe a lot of Christians -- those who formally professed Christ are now operating in great deception because of that easy grace gospel. This is because they believe the lie that they can do anything and everything which is willfully wrong before God without the expectations of God doing something about it. As well, these Christians believe that their "good" works will exempt them from being rightfully judged in terms of their continued sin. Again, just saying for myself -- I believe following that easy grace gospel is just another way of clowning around with a God who does not and will not tolerate this type of behavior. And making the possibility of having one's name be removed from the Book of Life to be a very real consequence, IMO.

Ever wonder about Jesus's warning during the yine of his wrath. Keep your garment lest you walk naked to your shame? In Chapter 14 those who take part in the beast system will take part in wrath. Revelations 9, those who know the truth will be sealed by God and not hurt. Those who don't have a love for God His words will be seduced and lose it all. 2 Thessalonians. Mathew 24. Only those who love not their lives to death will overcome and take part in the 1st Resurrection (the same Resurrection spoke of in 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18). Revelations 20 1-6.
10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
