Its actually quite eerie to see this wonderful old Loader in the snow. I guarantee that modern machines *WILL NOT* stand the test of time like she has. Thumbs UP from me. Thanks

Great video. Can still smell it, the grease, dirt and diesel, I and my gang fired it up and moved one similar to this in 1971 when I was 10, moved it only about 50', but I did it, and it scared the crap out of all of us! We jumped off and ran for the hills as fast as we could. Those were the days, the time when a key wasn't required and the machine was always open. We never rocked the windows, that was the Bluefields gang, not us, sorry. Later, all the windows on all the equipment had steel panels over them, and the doors were always locked, sad but progress as it was..

Yup, we had such Cat machines "rocked". And my dad used old used screens from our screen decks to cover and lock all the windows and such. I still have those original Cat Keys from the 70's and 80's. Kids who damaged our Cat 980's and 966's and 955's had no idea the time and cost to replace the glass. Looking back, thank God the kids didn't pour dirt into the fuel tank, hydraulic tank or into the engine!!

I would love to take something like this & dismantle the whole body, have it 100% sand blasted, painted & put back together.

That's one mean old machine looks very menacing built to last no computers junk on her just good old fashioned mechanical engineering it will probably still be going in another 50 years time when all the new machines are a pile of scrap.
