Which of these tips is your favourite? Or do you have your own clever storage hack? Drop a comment below-I’d love to hear your ideas and chat about how to make your living room clutter-free!
It doesn't matter that nobody else can see a mess inside your closed storage. You know it's there, and you'll feel better when you clean it up. Closing a cupboard door on a mess is like pulling up the bedcovers without straightening the sheets. If you really don't have time now, that's a thing, but you're either going to fix it soon or end up regretting not fixing it. And what if you have guests over, and someone wants to play board games, and you open the cupboard and everyone sees a shambles inside? Then they just know that you're faking being on top of your life and behind the facade you're a mess. Is that what you want your friends to think? The closed storage is still the best option, of course. It keeps out dust, insects, and small grimy fingers, and your tidy organised belongings don't have to be colour coordinated and "styled" - they just need workmanlike organisation.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment-I really appreciate you taking the time to share! I totally agree that a mess behind closed doors doesn’t just disappear, and that’s exactly why I always recommend regular decluttering. It’s such an important habit for staying on top of things and feeling in control of your space. That said, I also believe that the people we invite into our homes wouldn’t judge us for a bit of cupboard chaos-life happens! I love your point about closed storage being practical for keeping things protected; it’s definitely one of the best solutions out there! ♥
