- I’ve been having a problem since I bought my truck with the RPMs surging when I press the clutch to shift. At first once the truck warmed up it would stop, but recently even with the engine warm it’s been surging a couple hundred RPMs every time I’d shift. A friend of mine at the dealership told me to spray carb cleaner into the throttle body with the truck running. Worth a try. Here we go.
I replaced my Throttle Position Sensor,, still had a surge at idle.
From a forum online someone said to calibrate the TP sensor by...
Turn ignition on, depress accelerator to the floor, slowly release the accelerator, wait 5 seconds turn off key,.
I'll Be Damned, It Worked. (1989 f150, 302)
That’s awesome. I’ll remember that.
So the car is running while you’re doing this?
@@matthewinfante4507 No, the trunk is not running when doing the TPS reset,, can not conform it was thef ix for my problem, as I am still having issues to this day after updating the whole fuel system and ignition system... going for EGR next,, going to try a EGB block plate to determine if the EGR system is the origin of the surging.
@@WillyPete_ my truck is doing the same thing rpm surge while driving which is scary. Did you have luck with the Egr delete?
@@sharktank7497 Shop replaced a bad brand new coil which cleared up my problem, I replaced my pressure fuel pump which also helped out before i found the bad coil. EGR delete completed and changed nothing with the surging which means my EGR system was good and not the problem.
This is the problem having with my 1989 F250 the RPMs are high when the truck is idle
All I did was clean the intake
