Been testing on SD720G and on SD888, SD720G can run some games @ FS 1x 60FPS with minor stutterinog, tested Bully and FF XII, for Bully went -3 and underlocked, for XII everything stock On 888 I tested Ratchet and Clank 2002, GoW I, GoW II, both ran perfectly smooth at 2x, obviously 888 is absolute beast, as for the lowend I really think the list for games that'd run smooth on older chips is bigger than we think it is, and this is only Alpha.

Snapdragon 845 here, on a Pocophone F1 Armored Edition (8GB Ram version). Most games play well, but i have to tweak the underclocking options under the performance section of the app settings to get a steady 60fps on these games. For some reason, Fight Night 3 can only run at about 70% speed while in the actual fight. All the other sections of the game can easily go up to 200% speed (i use this to test the speed cap to see if i still have room to improve the game in the settings.) Shadow of the Colossus runs well.. It says 60fps, but it feels like im dropping frames sometimes, that the counter couldnt pick up for some reason. Psi-Ops has a weird texture issue where anything close to the camera becomes just all greened-out, but the game plays smoothly at 60fps. Almost unplayable due to the graphic glitch though. Tried a lot of tweaking, but to no avail. It is one of my favorite action games of all time, so i had to stretch my options a bit more than usual, but hey... AetherSX2 is pretty early in its release, im sure somewhere along the way we may be able to get a fix for something like this. Valkyrie Profile Silmeria slows down in a lot in in-game cutscenes. Also slows down while standing/walking through well lit spots, especially in towns, but it does smooth out when in dungeons which are mostly dark and torches dont cause any slowdowns, and also plays really smooth in combat. Other games ive tested that plays really smooth are Kingdom Hearts 1, Onimusha 3, Castlevania Lament of Innocence and Dirge of Cerberus.

Unbelievable performance on the 888+, got the red magic 6s pro as a dedicated handheld and I regret NOTHING! 🧐🤣🙌🏻 Update:- So tested a few games out, 2 X Resolution seems to be the max whilst running a stable framerate. Final fantasy X/XII - Runs great at 1X Vulkan, will run at 2X but upscaling problems ruin cut scenes. Front mission 4 - Runs great at 1X Vulkan/OpenGL however shadow bug persists throughout and gradually gets worse. Use software rendering to fix however slight frame drops. Front mission 5 - Runs great at 1x Resolution Vulkan, any higher exhibits slowdown in cut scenes. SMT 3 - runs amazingly well in openGL however there are sprite clipping issues that I'm still looking for a fix for Persona 3 FES - runs great in openGL and Vulkan at 2X resolution. Shadow hearts - perfect at 2X with Vulcan/OpenGL Shadow of the Colossus - big frame drops no matter what used, not a good experience atm imo. Blood will tell - frame rate drops from 60 to mid 30s regardless of settings. Ultimate Spider-Man - juddery mess with broken visuals. GTA San Andreas - perfect aside from ghosting, use hacks - autoflush hardware/software to fix. Will update when I've tested more 👌🏻
I've gotten similar results, everything is just amazing but Shadow Hearts was the one game out of about 20 I couldn't get to run full speed. Did you use any special settings?
@@raiusdaltar1483 no matey, nothing special required so far settings wise, I am using the red magic 6s pro though which has overclock settings for the processor and GPU so not sure if that's a factor Just put it on to double check, I do get frame drops when running about but always stays between 55 and 60 so not noticeable in the slightest. I second this request! It’s funny less than a week ago I decided to not get a Super Console X King(?) because I figured in a year they will have a new one that could probably emulate PS2/GameCube/Wii/Xbox. With this new emulator it seems more likely to be the case.
Not just better, miles and miles better, it's not even close. AetherSX2 follows GPL license from PCSX2 with full credit to the PCSX2 team. Obviously the emulator is free and open source itself, unlike a certain other PS2 emulator going by DamonPS2, which is a paid and commercial closed source program using stolen code from PCSX2 without permission or even acknowledgement or any attempt to follow GPL guidelines, all the while running like absolute dogpoop for years without any improvement.
Have installed it but it acanned and just exit the app itself. Nothing happen after that. i tried opening it again the app and when it comes to scanning games part, it just exit on its own. What mistake am I doing?
Agreed if they release it out of beta I will pay for it for sure. The dev just needs to add ads and offer an option to remove them and they can legally make money off that I think. I'll pay it
GPL under which PCSX2 is licensed does not forbid asking money for software as long as the source code is available. Not everybody is capable or willing to build application from source code themselves.
Testing the app on oneplus 8 snapdragon 865 12gb ram version. Surprised with the results of this emulator. Playing Gran Turismo 4 with 60 FPS. Definitely want to see more of your good (educational videos).
No wonder it runs well, it uses PCSX2 core code which is very well developed. But the developer that ported and coded it to Android did an awesome job as well.
I just got a 8gen1 (s22ultra) and it was a huge surprise to have this performance. I didn't even know PS2 emulation was possible on Android. Finally, I'm playing everything I missed out, when I was young I could only afford a console, by the time was Xbox or Nintendo.
Works fine on my Redmi Note 8 (SD 665). Only 3 settings i changed to run at full speed, for general settings, i use fast preset and Vulkan renderer (+10 FPS compared to OpenGL). Third setting depends on individual game, so i changed the settings on individual game (you can tap hold the game title and choose game properties), i only changed graphics settings>preload texture setting, for 3D games, turn it on, for 2D, leave it as is (default is off). I only tested 4 games thou, 2 out of 4 works fine (one 3D and one 2D), the other one works in menu only but closes the app when goes into gameplay, the other one makes the phone hardlocked 🤣. Salute to the dev team, keep up guys!! Edit : The app got update just a while ago and guess what?? All four games now work!! Still same settings just updated app. Third game (3D) runs almost perfect, just some dips sometimes but doesn't affect my gaming experience, i'd say it's playable. Fourth game (3D)? Also works but at around half speed (20-30 FPS). Well done, dev!!
@@mridul3526 Sure, bud. 3 titles with possibly small dips : King of Fighters Maximum Impact Regulation A GrimGrimoire Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny - Rengou VS Z.A.F.T. Out of the 30ish games I threw at it on my Note 10 +, only a few specifically ran with stuttering, Outrun 2006, and Destroy All Humans! 2 had unplayable artifacting. Baldur's Gate- Dark Alliance II had artifacting in the intro, ran fine up until starting to play and crashed. Where you download Google store?
I'm using a Z Fold 3 and I've only tried Twisted Metal Black so far. Took some fiddling with a few settings, but it's running at essentially a locked 60fps at 1x, with some slowdowns on 2x and higher. Very impressed so far with this. Bravo devs!
Pls share your settings with me, same phone but not really playable for me
I've experimented with Persona 3 FES and GTA 3 on a Snapdragon 780g. I get almost full 60 fps with minor dips. Really impressive
Mine runs fullspeed most of the time (the emulator says 100% speed and audio's fine), but has severe slowdown within the actual game.
Have you tried persona 4?
I'm using a Samsung a71 5g and it is running a number of games. Can't wait for the reviews and tips on lower end phones.
Tried with a Galaxy Tab S7, just changed render engine to vulkan and 2x scaling. Gran Turismo 4 and Dragon Quest VIII.. flawless! That's incredible 🤩
Need to put this on my tab s7 asap!!
Hey you know a website I can download iso ps2 Games? I've tried a few and it wouldn't read the games
@I'm A Spam Account yeah I got it had to download that zarchive folder to extract it
amazing !!!!!
i have run silent hill 2 on redmi note 8 (snapdragon 665) and works great full speed, with vulkan backend
I have a poco F3 phone, and I have tried more than 10 games and every single one of them runs perfect, holly hell! is awesome!
ow man, this is amazeballs! gt4 on my phone paired with my ps4 controller. Thanks for this vid, downtime at work will never be the same. lol
Another thing to note, is that it can use ps2 memory card data, which means, you can probably import save files from a original ps2.
💡
I want to use saves from the internet.
My mind was blown away. Like this is so good! The developer is freaking genius!
Been testing on SD720G and on SD888, SD720G can run some games @ FS 1x 60FPS with minor stutterinog, tested Bully and FF XII, for Bully went -3 and underlocked, for XII everything stock
On 888 I tested Ratchet and Clank 2002, GoW I, GoW II, both ran perfectly smooth at 2x, obviously 888 is absolute beast, as for the lowend I really think the list for games that'd run smooth on older chips is bigger than we think it is, and this is only Alpha.
Does the 888 overheat when running this emulator? My LG G7 on my Snapdragon 845 gets pretty toasty after running this emulator for a while (GT4, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro).
@@RobertDunn310 It must, it has way more heat output than an 865 and my 865 gets pretty damn toasty.
@@RobertDunn310 ive tried on my Xiaomi Mi 11 with 888 snapdragon and the temperature remain balanced, it get more hot with epsxe emulator. The only thing i cant understand is why using an Xbox controller attached with type c the R2 and L2 buttons doesnt work

I've been using this with my Fold 3 and absolutely loving it!
Does it kill the battery?
@@mclaughlin408 I haven't played much yet. I've mostly been testing out the framerate with Fight Night Round 3, plus I play with a USB-c controller (which drains the battery some). From my limited time I wouldn't say the battery drain is more than what I would have expected. It feels worth the price to be able to play these games on here too. When I've had some more time with it I'll update this comment.
@@CSpell83 Which controller are you using bro? I've got the Fold 3 also
@@peacelove8395 I'm using currently using the Gamesir X-2 (USB-c version). I got it to play around with Egg NS), but it works well in general. I'd prefer to use the razer kishi, but it needs to be modded to work (either cut or a 3D printed holder)
All the other sections of the game can easily go up to 200% speed (i use this to test the speed cap to see if i still have room to improve the game in the settings.)
Shadow of the Colossus runs well..
Other games ive tested that plays really smooth are Kingdom Hearts 1, Onimusha 3, Castlevania Lament of Innocence and Dirge of Cerberus.
can't believe how a phone can run a ps2 game and my pc can't
P.S would like to see metal gear solid 3
played the Japanese version of Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 and gotta say I'm speechless of how amazing this emulator rans, once it's quitted from the beta state y'know it's gonna be what future kids will talk about after VisualBoyAdvance from my day
Bro how i can download the bios and the game files?
Unbelievable performance on the 888+, got the red magic 6s pro as a dedicated handheld and I regret NOTHING! 🧐🤣🙌🏻
Update:- So tested a few games out, 2 X Resolution seems to be the max whilst running a stable framerate.
SMT 3 - runs amazingly well in openGL however there are sprite clipping issues that I'm still looking for a fix for
Persona 3 FES - runs great in openGL and Vulkan at 2X resolution.
Shadow hearts - perfect at 2X with Vulcan/OpenGL
Shadow of the Colossus - big frame drops no matter what used, not a good experience atm imo.
Blood will tell - frame rate drops from 60 to mid 30s regardless of settings.
Ultimate Spider-Man - juddery mess with broken visuals.
GTA San Andreas - perfect aside from ghosting, use hacks - autoflush hardware/software to fix.
Will update when I've tested more 👌🏻
Amen brother! Got an S21 and while slightly less powerful there is plenty of performance to spare!!
I've gotten similar results, everything is just amazing but Shadow Hearts was the one game out of about 20 I couldn't get to run full speed. Did you use any special settings?
@@raiusdaltar1483 no matey, nothing special required so far settings wise, I am using the red magic 6s pro though which has overclock settings for the processor and GPU so not sure if that's a factor
Just put it on to double check, I do get frame drops when running about but always stays between 55 and 60 so not noticeable in the slightest.
Checked and it's across all 3 rendering methods so not sure if it's something that was actually carried across from the hardware itself (like resi 1 remake on Dolphin, drops huge frames between scene transitions but that was present on the GameCube itself so no fix)
@@raiusdaltar1483 use software to render or OpenGL, Vulkan sees the most slowdown.
Software is the best from what I've just been trying but then you're at 1X Res so granted that's not a problem go with that 👍🏻
Yo and lets be honest, 2X in a phone screen looks good as hell
The future is bright homies
I guess it’s finally time for me to buy a RedMagic phone like I’ve always wanted, this looks awesome 👏 I thought we were still 2-5 years away from this, it’s a nice surprise
Samsung Note 9 Plus ran Blitz the League, with default settings and Open GL, pretty darn good.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance had some frame rate dips but after switching to Vulcan that improved.
I'm pretty impressed!!!
Older phone and pretty much out of the box games are playable.
Can't wait to test out more.
BRO I'M GEEKED RIGHT NOW I'M GONNA TRY BLITZ THE LEAGUE IT'S BEEN A MINUTE
Wow. Thanks for the video. Been waiting a very long time for a playable ps2 emulator for Android. 🙏💯
So far ive been using my s21 ultra. Ncaa football 06, Colin Mcrae 04 have run great, small dips. ATV off road fury runs slow, Atv off road 2 has some rendering issues. Tony Hawk underground runs 50-60 fps. Shoulder buttons dont seem to be working (bluetooth xbox gamepad)... still plan on doing more benchmarking. But i have to say, this emulator is damn impressive for it's first initial beta releases

@@rustymixer2886 I tried running that and very time I do it crashed the app have u run the game yet?
What they have accomplished is truly remarkable, to be able to run a game in so much higher quality than it originally ran, and these games have so much more soul than android games which often feel more like tech demos that an actual game
Did you get it to work? I can't seem to find a bios that works on my Samsung galaxy s21+

Man I really love your videos and really enjoy your upload schedule. We get a video just about every day and it never feels rushed or sloppy. Thanks for all the uploads man and the awesome emulation that you show off.
Z Fold 3. Running a TON of games insanely well. NFS Underground 2 does work very well with several tweaks in the settings. At first I thought it was a no go but like I said you tinker with settings and it works incredibly well.
Can you give out the settings to run NFSU2, i tried it but it lags & runs it sooo slomo
I really appreciate all of your reviews and tutorials! Will you please run a test on the Nvidia Shield TV Pro
I second this request! It’s funny less than a week ago I decided to not get a Super Console X King(?) because I figured in a year they will have a new one that could probably emulate PS2/GameCube/Wii/Xbox. With this new emulator it seems more likely to be the case.
Thank you for the news! That's so cool!
better than Damon and free? 😁 support the development if you can this is awesome
@@elimalinsky7069 yep, I got scammed by Damon and buying the dog p**ps sadly
@@elimalinsky7069 and i noticed it also has a similar interface to duckstation. really happy about that.
@@bpcgos How old are you that you straight up censor word "Poop" That's just weird.
Have installed it but it acanned and just exit the app itself. Nothing happen after that. i tried opening it again the app and when it comes to scanning games part, it just exit on its own. What mistake am I doing?
Tried this on my s7 tab and it works great. So far I played Black and Simpsons hit and run. Both had zero problems! Thanks so much for this video !!!
I wont even mind if the dev made this a paid app. This is a quantum leap in android emulation - they deserve to make some money with this.
Just donate I guess
guys pls donate them even if we donate small amount and many of us do they will make good money
It's not allowed by the license of the pcsx2 source code, and that's why damonPS2 was troublesome. So donations is the only way.
Debatable
@@Fleshlight_Reviewer How so?
@@Fleshlight_Reviewer I don't think so, then why DamonPS2 Is still shit
Can you name the games you tested this on? I have the same device as you but I'm getting terrible performance on Persona 4
@@mridul3526 Sure, bud.
3 titles with possibly small dips :
King of Fighters Maximum Impact Regulation A
GrimGrimoire
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny - Rengou VS Z.A.F.T. II Plus
4th title with half speed :
Kamen Rider Kabuto
You still have to do trial and error thou, like in my case, sometimes OpenGL renderer does better, like what i found in KR Kabuto after update (before it was hardlocked). Just mess with those 3 settings combination, especially renderer and preload texture (just be careful with preload texture, most 3D games need it, at least in my case, like if i turn it off in KR Kabuto, it'll hardlock the phone lol)

I can confirm that the AetherSX2 is a great app especially if you have a better smartphone that runs in Snapdragon 845 or higher. I've tested it on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro using the second option with OpenGL on playing Silent Hill 4: The Room. Wasn't the PS2 based on PowerPC? If so, wouldn't it be "slightly" easier to run on ARM, since it is a RISC based architecture?

now it's just a matter of time before someone releases a free and better alternative of switch emulator, since egg ns emulator forces people to pay for its controller
