Another £120 I didn’t know I needed to spend! Damn you Andertons….
Ultimate salesmen when they can convince you to hand over money on something you didn’t even know you needed.
Awesome video and outstanding product!
This is gonna be epic for busking into my Bose S1Pro+ alongside the mic input. Ultimate busking setup.
I really like the Stage Feel feature & I think the unit sunds amazing - the Katana compatability is also great@@hellofx
Does Pete come with this miniamp so it sound this good? 😊
Definitely buying one ! I have a question about Pete’s trainers though - are they Jordan’s? Would love a pair 😂
Can u connect this to Bluetooth speakers? Hows latency? Would love to.know
Bought one after watching this and other videos...then bought two more as gifts...then a backup for myself when Boss announced they were ceasing production on this version of the unit!
My guess is they sold even more of these than they had anticipated, realized they should have made it more cheaply, priced it higher, or both, then decided to retool into whatever next iteration awaits.
All I can say is, glad I have this one, it's crazy cool!
Pete's solo in the beginning was just 🔥
What was that backing track? Great harmony and groove
@@MrSJBGuitar Hmmm i don't know! He said something about it being "Danish Pete's loop on UA-cam" but I didn't pay attention 😂 I was too absorbed with his playing
@@MrSJBGuitar not sure if you still need this... but the backing track you were looking for is called "Holding The Groove" which was made by Danish Pete. it's on youtube with a bunch of other great tracks he made. Enjoy :)
Never in all the years of watching Andertons videos have I ever had a “Shut Up And Take My Money” moment …..until now! I bought this thing long before the video ended! This will make my short evening practice sessions so much easier to set up, which will help me to practice more. Thank you Boss!
Depends on your setup and what type of player you are but I go from my amp into a loadbox into my interface out of either studio monitors or headphones. Its not as portable as this of course but it sounds great.
Same...Barely half way through before I pulled the trigger and ordered it. A no brainer for me
Same here. Watched a PMT video and was like….blimey that sounds good…..Bluetooth backing tracks….only thing I want is ability to dry signal to MacBook via usb
I saw the price and went "why not"
Does anyone know if you can stream the guitar to your wireless ear buds or is it via aux cable only?
That opening solo, particularly the bit without a pick-stunning.
I've owned the fender Mustang micro for years..love it .. interesting to see the evolution of the headphone amps
I have both and this puts the fender micro to shame.
Literally ordered one, halfway through this video from Andertons. I had some loyalty points itching to be used. Can't wait to play through this over the weekend.
same, within 3 minutes of the video I was ordering , bought 2 🤣
Fantastic playing from Pete! 😎 The Katana:Go seems really good (compatibility with other Katana amps is a big plus for me). If only Boss had brought this out 6 months ago I'd almost certainly opt for it, but now I have a NUX that does everything I need for now.
Great playing! This is a strong offering from Boss. I have the NUX might plug pro and I have to say it's a great practicing to small gigs tool (output to a "boombox" for basking anyone?). Main differences are: nux 7 presets vs katana 30.
Nux Pros:
* Nux has a much more flexible effect chain, more amps/fx/IRs.
* Nux has 19 or so slots for your own IRs.
* It has similar Session functionality (automatic preset switching, only local mp3 files, no youtube), it's a bit expanded because you can have multiple setlist on the NUX. So you can have a setlists of 10+ songs, all queued with automatic switching.
* Nux many usb settings, to reamp, record dry out, live stream :-0 ????
Nux cons:
* I had to use a 3rd party app to take advantage of all the NUX features,
* clean sounding amps need some work.
* exchanging tones is a bit clunky
Katana Pros:
* The katana clean sound sounds really good off the bat (in the youtube demos)
* stage feel sounds really cool as well (in the youtube demos)
* Boss approved footswitch that connects directly to the plug. With the Nux the footswitch connects to the phone, not the plug, so you need to keep the phone open with the app in the foreground for the footswitch to work.
* tone exchange (Coming soon June 2024)
Katana Cons:
* In order to load a youtube video in the session list you need to copy and paste the url from the browser to the app. No biggie
I don't have one so I can't speak about what parts of it don't work as advertised. I think with slightly less features it's going to be more likely to have less opportunity for things to not work as you'd think.
They both are banging products for as long as the phone apps work. I don't think you can go wrong with either one
I bought one of those first Vox ones back when they came out, man technology these days is great! Nice playing in that intro Pete and Lee is soo much better now.
Ordered one! I used to aspire to play like Rob (still awesome) but now the more I watch, the more I want to play like Pete - great feel and style.
Nice one Captain Lee & Danish Pete. Arigato!
Congratulations to the Boss Katana team - another knockout product for guitar players!!
This is one of those monumental products that is going to be looked back at in the future as a pivotal iconic device that was a game changer. Will definitely be doing a video of this on my UA-cam channel. Superb, well done
These guys "sold" me on the Fender Mustang Micro awhile back . As a current apartment dweller , these headphone amps are waay cool, as they prevent the neighbors from acting crazy ... As a Katana owner, I guess these little guys (like the biggie Katanas ,) do waay more stuff than I know how to use . Although I am happy with the Fender product, I will probably score one of these Boss guys later this year ...
Oh my….literally LOL’d at the Ostrich bit 😂🤣
You folks are wonderful. I adore the videos and the banter between you two. If I wasn't across the pond, I would love to visit the store!
That opening jam blew my doors off , that was killer Pete!!!!!!
That thing is amazing, and I can't even play guitar, but bought it anyways and now it's fun learning with it without annoying the neighbours.
Pete is the best. He has become one of my all time favorite guitar players.
Really great playing there on the intro, so classy, Pete never disappoints.
I have to say - I love Danish Pete’s playing. I’ve been watching you guys for ages now, and I love the reviews (cheers Captain!) but Pete - your taste and feel are great. I’m not even angling for a discount either! 😂😂
And thats why Boss is still the Boss.
That sounds unbelievable.
Just fantastic playing Pete, great info on the product
The Captain is KILLING it on guitar !! Way to go man!!
He’s come a long way in the last decade - become a really good player.
Damn I'm gonna order one for office noodles. I already had one of the older VOX ones. But the option to connect it to the app is just really cool!
What an opening jam! And Cap's play out!
Excellent product & demo - thanks guys!
bought one of these and love it.
Wow, Pete was Xtra good on the opening jam!
When Katana Go first came out I was looking for information about it and I completely skipped over Pete's soloing. I Just heard it and must say that it was simply great. Well done Pete.
Ordered one. The ability to practice in silence with the minimum fuss and play along with music is exactly what i want to be able to do. I can do this with a Spark and a set of headphones but this is way more portable and convenient. Just one wire to the headphones and you are off. Sounds great too on the demo.
The quality of this product is actually insane. I cannot believe it, it's almost a must have for al guitarists.
Great video. The Stage feel worked well with my Creative katana sound bar with the Dolby Atmos built in .
Very enjoyable musicianship. Noticed you mentioned a couple of times , to wear headphones. Perhaps , you know this already, some of us are using large screens and AVR's. So we appreciate the video/audio quality of your episodes. Great product, I think I'll get one, since I own and use a K2 100. Cheers.
Great… I just told my wife “no darling, I don’t need anything for my guitar right now. I’ve got all I need!” 😫
Literally in the same boat, got the mustang micro, and found the recording off it into the DAW very underwhelming when it came to the volume output, then this came out... not to mention my main rig is an mkII......
Yeah, but it's only$100! Sell your worst guitar.
best Pete has played in as long as I can remember 👍
Superb sound really impressed. Great playing as well👌
An awesome tool! Thanks for demoing it.
Great solo Pete!!!
It's so nice of Danish Pete to sponsor you guys during his Solo Guitar Performance. It's almost like you were there with him, almost...
Yeah, I'm sold. Add that to my gear collection. That is awesome
I’m ok with my mustang micro for practicing but I can see they improved these devices a lot
Killer tones and playing Pete!🤟
Cheers!!
Man… I wish this offered a looper feature. Then this thing would be beastly.
Get an RC500, sold lots of gear, now my studio consists of, IMac with Logic, boss Katana Go, Boss RC 500, and Boss Gigcaster 8, it’s all I need.
@@hardlines2635 a practice amp is not complete without a Looper. I have the Nux Muighty Plug which also good , it has a drum but my dislike is it doesnt have a looper. I would go for the Mooer Prime P2 just bccoz it has a drum machine that synchrozses with the looper. All these new School Pocket Amps sound good. The only reason Id take the Mooer Prime P2 is the Drum Syncing with looper feature.
WOW 😍, That’s an awesome piece of kit!
Thouough run through of the Katana Go. Really appreciate the time stamps.
So I love these things. I have the blackstar fly2, I've tried the mini mustang, the classic rock vox, and most recently the Flamma FX10.
They're all great. This one looks pretty good, but for my own use, I dont want a companion app and I dont want to haul around a footswitch.
The best one I've found for literally a standalone headphone amp experince is the Flamma FX10. Great sounds and effects, plus some pretty decent drum loops.
They've come out with an upgraded version with more of everything, but it requires a companion app to access a little less than half of them. No thanks, but if youre into that sort of thing, give it a whirl.
The NuX version is SO good! It’s very reasonably priced and the tones and app are very easy to use!
Great demo guys🎸👍
Just to let you know, when you were adjusting the 'Stage Feel' settings, I was able to discern all the changes when listening through the surround sound setup on my computer. Probably not as much as through headphones, but the changes were very clear through my setup. I guess I will have to get one of these, in fact I'd have already ordered one if they were not sold out at my local shop here in Montreal. LOL
Do Andertons not deliver there?
@@ethanpunto9222 Possibly, but considering they are in England and I am in Canada, I would expect the shipping to be relatively expensive, not to mention quite slow. By the time they would fill my order, the product will be back in stock at my regular spot. Besides, I have already been in contact with my buddies at Long & McQuade, and they will have them in stock very soon.
A very convenient way to practice. Definitely helps when you're too lazy to mess with your interface/DAW.
Happy times for us music makers and axe neck wrestlers ...
Me was into the VOX Amplugs like 10 ago and they worked ... made me happy practicing@night
BUT this is quite some quantum leap ... well done BOSS
Thanks a lot for sharing ... great demo
Bought this morning before I even saw this video. Hopefully coming tomorrow. I phoned to see if I could use it after my pedals too and the answer seemed to be yes using an adaptor
These devices are game changers!
Waiting for mine to arrive ! I think it will sound killer though my Yamaha THR Aux Channel at work 👍
This seems really cool. Headphone playing is most of what I do though an AmPlug Clean. Trick is once you add in the foot pedal you're now up in amongst the Valeton range. Given that wires are involved in both, I am wondering which would suit me better. It would almost be easier if the pedal wasn't an option!
That guitar is killer! Appreciate the link!
Missed opportunity Pete started the top gun theme and stopped I got so excited
The guitar position modification is a great feature, even with low price desktop speakers it is clearly audible!
I’ve used BOSS/Roland gear all my life.
My Tone Studio has so many amps I’ve added to use with this!
Pete I’m going to be stealing those licks ! Just got my Katana Go today 👍
on a new version on a later upgrade, I hope a looper is included natively in the katana go, that can be controlled by the footswitch
Great review, thanks! So here’s the big question for me. I have WAZA airs which I adore for practice and a Katana 100 for rehearsal and gigging. The one big downside is no audio out to run that sound to an amp or for recording. Do you think it’s worth investing in the Go as well for an easier rehearsal solution (especially with the foot pedal) and for recording?
Great intro Pete!
Boss is the Toyota of the music world, its not always the flashiest thing or the most expensive, however it will work every time and work well.
Lol, kinda every boss pedal I've owned cracks, pops, and needs resoldered after 2 years....and every Toyota I've driven is noisy, full of cheap terrible plastic and sounds like it could fall apart at any moment.
@@trevorD1156 Which is crazy to me because I own early 2000's boss pedals that get used all the time that are perfect, have driven may Toyota's with well over half a million kms on them that are tight as. If you're American though, you don't get the good Toyota's.
I've never owned a boss pedal that didn't need resoldered, or one that I actually used regularly which makes it even more pathetic. The rest of my pedals are made by joyo, tc electronics , or Donner, all of which I prefer and have never had to open for any reason. I just had my ds1 out comparing it to models of it in amp sims and the sims all sound much better than the real thing.
@@trevorD1156 definitely haven't had that experience. With your amp sim situation though running a produced amp sim through a set of speakers will never ever sound the same as running the same real life rig. It's the same argument people make about Marshall amps sounding thin because they're so use to running software that has a produced quality and sounds huge which just isn't the case in real life.
I Definitely have to buy this, perfect for where I am at in my life.....
I’ve got the Mustang Micro from Fender and I love it. My family too 😂
It's awesome. The Bluetooth feature is what sold me on it initially.
That's all very well, but Pete can make a torn-cone 70s radio speaker sound good. You should try it with a mortal playing.
I specifically told myself that if this is under 200 bucks I’ll get it. Guess I have to get it. 😂 but I’ve been looking for something like this but other ones haven’t appealed to me that much. This one looks dope!
Intro solo by Pete is utterly brilliant.
It's like I went to sleep and one of my dreams actually came true!
damn! pete is a wizard. that intro.
That backing track is fire.
Really amazed at how good this sounds! For £100?!?!
That thing sounds great
Great demo as usual. Just a numb question : To go direct in a mixer I need a 3.5 x 6.35 adapter isn't it ? Stereo or mono ? If I want to combine with a wireless transmitter I need a Male 3.5 x Femal 6.35 adapter right ?
Thanks for the Video.
What is the difference in sound to the Pocket GT?
Can you record directly to the iPhone?
this is also a great backup option for live use if the amp packs up. have this hooked into an a/b box and out into a di box with xlr and you're sorted.
Could you pair it with a portable speaker to jam with a friend, ideally with a volume pedal?
@@RobertMcSherry in theory it will go into anything if you have the right cable. Get hold of a 3.5mm to quarter inch audio cable and it will go into any powered speaker.
Cool Unit. Surprised Boss omitted a Drum Machine/Metronome which the NUX does have. Would have made this KATANA Go a Home Run
Ah, that's a total killer for me - would never buy one of these when it's missing such an essential feature that all it's competitors have.
But you can stream that from your phone.
@@jefflevy3557 can it stream every sound from your phone (spotify , metronome) or just sound with the session feature of the app?
Added to basket & proceeded to checkout 👍
Arrived today and to say it’s good would be an understatement- it’s fantastic 🎸!
22:24 Lee - there's only been one Mrs. A
Pete - and a Mrs B, and Mrs C...
LOL Pete's quite witty 😂
Looks cool. Wonder if I could plug it on the output of my Boss RC looper, set a clean tone and practice solo ideas over chord progressions. Would be the perfect portable practice rig. Yeah I understand you’d normally put a looper at the end of the chain but still it would be good enough for me.
Sounds great! However, the best part of the video was Pete telling Lee not to bury his head in the sand so an ostrich wouldn't sneak up behind him and fall in love....I'm still laughing.......So funny!
the best intro of andertons so relaxing
Mine arrived today , all good ! The Stage effect isn’t that amazing to be honest , but adds a nice ambience to the sound . Only fx which is stereo is the stereo delay , and only works in stereo when the Stage setting is off , so , sadly no lush head swirling chorus’s or Flangers but the delay / s is are great , simple to use and very nice sounds , especially the overdrives . Great to play along to music / backing tracks etc . Well done Boss !
Can you tell me if there’s a clean direct bass signal option like the Fender Mustang offers?
In your humble opinions. What would you say is better for learning camping at the beach goong to a park sitting in the living room etc the pocket gt or katana go?
I want this badly
Bought a Mustang Micro at launch and still love it. The only thing that puts me off the Katana is the app, pretty much abandoned my Spark as I just couldn't be bothered. That said, I will buy one of these along with the Line 6 Pod Express because I don't have enough gear already 😂 Seriously though, I'm sold on the tones, and at the price, I need one. IF ONLY GEAR THIS GOOD WAS AROUND WHEN I WAS A KID lol 😂
And, I'll wait for the Version 2 with all the bugs fixed and extra features 😁
Cool folks 🎉🎉🎉
Bluetooth just can't handle realtime audio, so there would be too much latency for bluetooth headphones. For backing tracks the latency doesn't matter and videos have lag compensation, which is used to sync the video and the audio.
Good explanation!! Cheers for that - pretty sure the Boss guys said the same thing, but in technical language that we didn't understand :)
@@andertons might also be true that bluetooth cant send and receive bluetooth audio at the same time. I can't think of any device that supports that, so there are multiple disadvantages with bluetooth format
@@cirisirpula152 no problems sending and receiving, bluetooth headsets provide that with microphone and earphones - your original explaination is spot on though
Question - given that I don’t own any wired headphones, do the Waza headphones do everything that this thing does? Certainly I could buy this little amp and some reasonable wired headphones for less money than the Waza headphones but curious if there’s any other reason to pick one over the other. I’m not really interested in wired headphones generally as I’m always going to choose wireless options just for listening to music.
Ordered!
Great video - are you able to connect a bluetooth speaker to the katana go for playback? cheers
Waiting for mine to arrive.
SMOL TONES!
Nice playing Danish Pete
I love my NUX model. But this thing here? Damn. Then again; IT’S BOSS! Shouldn’t be surprised! Gotta get one!!😌🎶🎸🔥👍🏾
Would like to see a comparison to the NUX Mighty Plug Pro. A drum/looper would have been nice.
On the effects front I like to know if you can run two delays at same time? I guess that's where a device at this point might be a processing power point.
A more realistic stage feel would be straining to hear yourself and the singer over the drummer while trying to work if it’s you or the bassist that has got this chord progression wrong
Just bought it
No better way to start the day than Pete doing “Muppets on bass”😂😂😂😂
