I’m half Thai and tbh I was so, so happy to see Thai culture in a modern cartoon where usually it’s not seen. They don’t just go, anne’s Thai, and leave it there. They show the modern thai culture behind it and I am just so happy to see it :’)

Regarding Anne, I think how it's worded, he's saying Anne sees Ms croaker as quite good looking, but may not actually be attracted to her. But at he same time she definitely liked looking at those pictures, so who's to say. (Keeping it nice a vague for disney) You can recognize someone is attractive without being attracted to them. Still cool though and the scene was quite funny.

10:16 honestly I could really identify with what Matt was saying here. I’m latine (specifically Guatemalan on my dad’s side and Salvadorian on my moms) and I had taken a trip to Guatemala last year to visit my family that still lives there. Huge culture shock bc even though I was used to the language and even the food it wasn’t exactly the same because now I was actually in Guatemala! And of course I still wanted to belong, but because Spanish wasn’t my first language I’d get so many words wrong as well. It was kinda like a barrier and definitely gave me a bit of Imposter Syndrome as well.
I'm Latino with my mom being from Brazil and my dad from small southern Virginia, I've tried to interact with my mom's side of the family I love them, they're all very nice and sweet, very accepting of me being a LGBTQIA+ person, and I feel so bad because my mom never taught me Portuguese. My dad tried to get me to learn Spanish at least, but it took highschool classes for me to bare minimum speak the language I'm not familiar with much of the culture because my mom never shared that part from me and I feel kind of like I'm being an imposter and that there's a huge barrier. It's stressful and it sucks. I'm so happy to see the representation even if it's not representation, because it's wonderful and important to share, especially on a kids show so they know about this.
I’m so excited for Marcy’s Journal to come out! I think it’ll be fun reading about Marcy’s adventures in Amphibia. Not to mention Anne’s point of view in the third part! Also, great video!

Still sucks that executive meddling had to interfere with Season 3 that could’ve turned an already great show into something on par with Avatar TLA and could’ve focused on the trauma of True Colors and the whole buildup to the War back in Amphibia during 3A.

The LGBTQ+ community gets minuscule representation onscreen, and it's not wrong for us to ask for it. LGBTQ+ characters have only been shown onscreen for a very short amount of time, and rarely at that. Why shouldn't we ask and fight for more representation? Also, queer characters aren't defined by the romantic relationships that they have or don't have. LGBTQ+ characters do not have to have crushes on or be in a romantic relationship with the same gender onscreen to be queer. Queer characters are allowed to just exist while being queer, just like straight characters. Giving us representation isn't and shouldn't be just about 'pleasing' us. Millions of queer people exist and we deserve to see ourself onscreen, just like cisgender and heterosexual people see themselves in every piece of media. Finally... it was disrespectful when op called queer people 'weirdos' for making headcanons about characters that aren't confirmed queer. Please refrain from insulting LGBTQ+ people (especially minors, who are the majority of this group) who just want to see themselves fairly represented in media like their cishet counterparts.

i feel like there were definitely episodes that could have been cut to make room for stuff that actually matters and develops the story, like sasha and marcy's parents or giving darcy more buildup. the way they just drop the implication that sasha's parents are divorced and expect us to fill in the blanks with that and how it contributes to sasha's problematic behavior kind of rubbed me the wrong way. but instead we get spider sprig and the "toadie becomes violent" episode.
the idea that sasha and marcy's characters wouldn't benefit from having their parents explored is something i really don't believe, it was definitely an aspect that was missing from the show and left it feeling kind of incomplete and not fully thought out. we are shown marcy having an argument with with her parents in true colors before running away and sasha's implied parental issues contribute to her character, it just seems kind of perplexing to say that they're not important.
Honestly I secretly think Matt is playing a mind game with all these little hints between the three main girls. With each of them blushing for mostly almost no reason ever and making us question what kind of people Anne is into. Like it’s a “Give her some slack, then reel her in,” situation.

I feel like Sashanne was vaguely implied Hear me out. I feel like I’m Turning Point, at least to the extent in Sasha’s mind that she might care about Anne a bit more than she realizes. And this is a little more physically shown by Sasha’s blush in Commander Anne. But I can’t tell if that was intentional to signal a crush or if Sasha was just realizing she likes girls too. 10:16 honestly I could really identify with what Matt was saying here. I’m latine (specifically Guatemalan on my dad’s side and Salvadorian on my moms) and I had taken a trip to Guatemala last year to visit my family that still lives there. Huge culture shock bc even though I was used to the language and even the food it wasn’t exactly the same because now I was actually in Guatemala! And of course I still wanted to belong, but because Spanish wasn’t my first language I’d get so many words wrong as well. It was kinda like a barrier and definitely gave me a bit of Imposter Syndrome as well.

I'm Latino with my mom being from Brazil and my dad from small southern Virginia, I've tried to interact with my mom's side of the family
I love them, they're all very nice and sweet, very accepting of me being a LGBTQIA+ person, and I feel so bad because my mom never taught me Portuguese. My dad tried to get me to learn Spanish at least, but it took highschool classes for me to bare minimum speak the language
I'm not familiar with much of the culture because my mom never shared that part from me and I feel kind of like I'm being an imposter and that there's a huge barrier. It's stressful and it sucks. I'm so happy to see the representation even if it's not representation, because it's wonderful and important to share, especially on a kids show so they know about this.
I’m so excited for Marcy’s Journal to come out! I think it’ll be fun reading about Marcy’s adventures in Amphibia. Not to mention Anne’s point of view in the third part! Also, great video!

As much as I would of loved seeing Sasha and Marcy's parents I'm glad they weren't in the show if the writers couldn't fit them in. I'd rather have them being up to my interpretation than them just being in and out of the show without proper resolutions or/and the finale being overstuffed.
The Andrias, Barrel, and Leif thing was said by a storyboard artist who shipped them! I would take it with a grain of salt. Board artists are huge shippers and they don't reflect the creator's vision

Fr. These days everyone wants EVERY lead character to be in the LGBTQ community. While I don't have a problem with the community it does get annoying
The LGBTQ+ community gets minuscule representation onscreen, and it's not wrong for us to ask for it. LGBTQ+ characters have only been shown onscreen for a very short amount of time, and rarely at that. Why shouldn't we ask and fight for more representation? Also, queer characters aren't defined by the romantic relationships that they have or don't have. LGBTQ+ characters do not have to have crushes on or be in a romantic relationship with the same gender onscreen to be queer. Queer characters are allowed to just exist while being queer, just like straight characters. Giving us representation isn't and shouldn't be just about 'pleasing' us. Millions of queer people exist and we deserve to see ourself onscreen, just like cisgender and heterosexual people see themselves in every piece of media. Finally... it was disrespectful when op called queer people 'weirdos' for making headcanons about characters that aren't confirmed queer. Please refrain from insulting LGBTQ+ people (especially minors, who are the majority of this group) who just want to see themselves fairly represented in media like their cishet counterparts.

I agree for you , but I ship Anne with her friends it is Marcy and Sasha.
i feel like there were definitely episodes that could have been cut to make room for stuff that actually matters and develops the story, like sasha and marcy's parents or giving darcy more buildup. the way they just drop the implication that sasha's parents are divorced and expect us to fill in the blanks with that and how it contributes to sasha's problematic behavior kind of rubbed me the wrong way. but instead we get spider sprig and the "toadie becomes violent" episode.
the idea that sasha and marcy's characters wouldn't benefit from having their parents explored is something i really don't believe, it was definitely an aspect that was missing from the show and left it feeling kind of incomplete and not fully thought out. we are shown marcy having an argument with with her parents in true colors before running away and sasha's implied parental issues contribute to her character, it just seems kind of perplexing to say that they're not important.
Honestly I secretly think Matt is playing a mind game with all these little hints between the three main girls. With each of them blushing for mostly almost no reason ever and making us question what kind of people Anne is into. Like it’s a “Give her some slack, then reel her in,” situation.

I now watched the video and why am I not surprised Anne is sapphic? I love the idea and I wasn’t expecting it at all but I wasn’t surprised to hear it. Anne is Sapphic, Sasha is Bisexual (Revealed in show) and I’m pretty sure Marcy will be Sapphic and it will be revealed when Marcy’s Journal comes out. I have confidence. Finally 3 gay protagonists it feels good. Also I like the “Less is more” idea. If Sasha and Marcy’s parents were revealed there would be less imagination so I like that a lot. I have a theory that Hop Pop isn't related to Sprig and Polly. As we see in S3E1 when he falls in water he's actually green. He simply claims that the wishing well cursed him.
