The Black Sea Coast Gets So Windy (Bulgaria in Winter)

- After a few hickups caused by my largest levels of distractivness, I embarked on a trip to the northeastern parts of Bulgaria, to the very north of its Black Sea coast.
And man was i surprised. Not only did I feel like I was transported onto the shores of Scotland, but it totally blew me away. Like literary. So windy!
We visited the Shabla Lighthouse, the spectacular views of the Tyulenovo rocks above the rough waters of the Black Sea, the windiest place in Bulgaria on the Kaliakra Cape and eventually found peace in the heavenly garden of the Balchik palace that had been built for the last Queen of Romania. In Bulgaria!
I told you, this country is full of surprises.

Super video
I worked with Czech people and you have the typical Czech humour and accent. Love your content, man.
Sadly, we have a tiny coastline of 378km not comparable to Greece and Turkey. The northern beaches are quite rocky while the southern ones with finer sand and warmer ones. You definitely missed the Historical Park close to Varna.
However, Shkorpilovtsi is our longest beach with a length of 12km. There is also a small nudist beach after Golden Sands (Nirvana) and another one down south in Sozopol.
Sunny Beach and Golden Sands are the typical en-masse, commercial, seasonal cheap holiday resorts you see in many parts of the world e.g. Magaluf or Benidorm in Spain. For the peace and quiet you either go to the far north of far south of our coast.
I agree with you that the northern beaches are more picturesque and wild. Where you have been there is also the famous July Morning in Kavarna. You will need to Google it, because the comment will become too long :D
thank you very much for this comment :) makes me at least hope that my humour is not completely lame and stupid...
But i see many people somehow don't get it :D there were a few videos I made (Nairobi or Singapore come to mind) where people were actually offended like crazy and as much as I am trying to be open minded, I just don't get why :D (well and there were Plitvice Lakes in Croatia where people were REALLY offended, but that was probably called for, I honestly really didn't like it :D )
Thanks for the tips, maybe next time :) I am actually not really a beach person, so rocky cliffs and rough sea is exactly my type of coastline :)
czech humour is great :-D i have lived in france for more than 10 years and I have really missed it :)
amazing!
thanks
I wouldn't be surprised if you told us this was somewhere in Scandinavia... really impressive :)
thank you :)
💯😍💯
thank you :)
My favourite part was Balchik and the wine tasting, which you did't show. And too bad we didn't see the flame for July morning in Kavarna.
well, true... but the wine from the lady in Nesebar was better in any shape or form :D
@@LexUniverse Hahaha. True
so what is the story of the Romanian queen in Bulgaria? :D
very nice video :)
After its defeat in the Second Balkan War (1912-1913), Bulgaria lost Southern Dobruja to Romania, including Balchik, where the palace complex was built (between 1926 and 1937). The region was peacefully returned to Bulgaria under the terms of the Treaty of Craiova in 1940, when both Romania and Bulgaria were minor Axis powers and thus allies. As the exchange was voluntary, it wasn't undone after the end of WW2 like other territorial changes.
@BadlyHonedBytes oh great, you saved me a lot of words of explanation :D thank you :)
@derekrowland4356 thank you :)
@@BadlyHonedBytes very interesting info. Thank you!
@@BadlyHonedBytes Which made Bulgaria the only country increasing its territory while losing WW2.
