Well, I think that alternative rock/grunge will make a comeback in this decade. False Advertising, Narrow Head, Dazor, Bully, Noiseheads, Rex Romanum, 3Teeth, Assimilate, Dirty Machine, Riverline, False Heads, Stay Out, Vomitface (I still waiting for new music from them) are good examples of fresh, honest, raw sound. These bands are not copycats. This is the future of rock music.

The song Jellybelly also comes to mind, Billy Corgan wrote certain riffs that had a kind of 'cruising' feel to them. The guitar sound was somehow heavy but airy at the same time, and also Jimmys sense of groove and dynamics were just on another level.
