All die cutting machine plates end up like that!!! If it works it works. Doesnt matter what brand it is! My mum came from Sylt in Germany but spoke Friesian xx
I’m so glad you started saying you have a lovely accent, because you do! Not sure how you learned English but you do wonderful! Thanks for sharing your love of crafting with us.
Oh I love this video. I love how you went right to work with those beautiful cards. Very inspiring. I absolutely love how you used red in this little book. You vintage papers are wonderful! Thank you for sharing your ideas. I'm so grateful I found you!!!!
Very cute just to explore and enjoy each aspect . I like how you think - does it need a purpose? Just to be cute . Gives permission to be enjoyed as is and the pleasure of being creative .😊
Timely video-index card booklet is today's Dephemerember prompt 😃 Your red ink is smearing because Distress Oxide is a (mostly) pigment based ink, which makes it thicker and more opaque (instead of dye based, like Distress Inks, which are thinner and more transparent). The Versafine is a quick drying, oil-based pigment. And Ranger Archival is oil-based dye 🤓 Not to add to your shopping list, but StāzOn "Stone Gray" (solvent based pigment) is a good "black" when you don't want a super dark black with a jarring contrast. I personally prefer the softer look of the Stone Gray compared to the BAM! BLACK!
@@SevenplazaCreative Many like Stazon, but I don’t care for it. For one, I can’t tolerate the smell of it. I prefer Archival and also like Versafine. Archival dries fast.
@@kykategray thank you for the info. I looked at Stazon, and kept passing it over (online shopping); went for Versafine instead. Glad my intuition is still working 😊😊 (especially important when online shopping lol)
So creative! Love it! Regarding the red ink taking so long to dry, I believe it's because you used and oxide ink which sits on top of the surface of the paper. That does make it take longer to dry. Thank you for sharing this idea with us!
Lovely idea Thank you for sharing!we will be decorating for the Holliday at my house this weekend, I need to hurry and finish up the new decorations I'm making. So much fun! Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Just beautiful! I loved that clip. I used to work for many years in a very old office that had been in operation from 1911 and had even older records than that. They had so many beautiful ledgers, index cards, maps etc. Oh I wish I had some of that stuff now. There is nothing like that old stuff!
wauw! wat is dit mapje leuk geworden! en wat een gave indexcards zijn dat, vooral dat grijs groene kleurtje... bedankt weer voor het idee en het filmpje...😘😊
Margreth awesome looking little notebook, the stamping with the red just sets it off beautifully. I too like the accenting with red in my paper crafting, but if you open my closet or look around my home not a bit of red, I think it reflects on myself I don't want to draw attention to myself. that's so funny, after 66 years I finally realized this. Sorry about that, just wanted to say thank you for sharing your lovely treasures with us.
The cabinet cards are so adorable. Hit the oxide inks with a blast of the heat gun it will make it easier for you and no smudges. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Love this idea, I must make one. You can make replacement cutting plates for your machine out of self healing cutting mats. Do a search here on YT for videos. But of course, since your machine still works as is, don't need fixing...lol. But a good idea to keep in your notes. Thanks for sharing your projects, they are inspiring and motivating.
This is a delightful video and project Margreth! It is a nice journal 'discovery and interactive decor' piece! I can think of some things that I might add in and around it, if I had gotten it in a journal!
Versafine takes forever to dry. When I want to use piece right away I heat dry for about 5 minutes. If you look at image you'll see slight shine. Heat until it's completely dull. At least 3 minutes for a small image. Great idea as always.
When you said you could feel the letters on the back side of the typed paper, embossed, because it is so old, I decided my face must be embossed, not wrinkled, because I am old!!!! Sounds like a much more positive way to view it😊😊
Margreth, I absolutely agree with you about how cute this booklet is. You’re right, the greenish gray index cards are such a pretty color. What did you call the little clip you used? It’s so cool that you have a jar full. Thanks again for taking the time to make your videos. I certainly appreciate them. Have a good and creative week ahead and a marvelous upcoming Christmas. So busy making paper ornaments for our 2 3/4 yr old granddaughter to hang on family trees, and then, I’ll be back to beginning a new junk journal and go then some of your ideas.
Hi Cheryl , the clips act like paperclips . I had never seen them before I found a collectors book full of them in a thriftshop . I’m a lucky girl ☺️🥰👍🏻
Hi M - I made this one, tea stained a bunch of index cards - where they flow a plenty here - and made a small journal from them. Let me know if you want the two sizes of cards. Also here we are actually using the self inking stamps. I have about 20 for my company. I can also get them with whatever new message or image you like.
Another faster drying ink is Memento dye ink. It doesn't smell like Staz-on and you can use it with alcohol ink markers. Memento also comes in a variety of colors.
This is brilliant, I love this and using my favourite Timmy stamps too. I emailed you recently about Thelma and Louise. I am so sorry, I almost exclusively watch on a television so don't have access to your description so didn't realise your instructions- came this time to especially say how much I loved this and saw your description. Feel an idiot now. Anyway back to my big screen where I can see what is happening. ❤❤
I found plates for my old Cuttlebug diecuttin mashine on Aliexpress. SO you might want to try to search there for a replacement. I think I was searching for exact measurements not for a brand name.
Hi Margreth, lovely little booklet, looks stunning stamped in red and black. Please let me know where you got your clips and hole reinforcer’s from. Xx
The hole reinforcers are made with a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. She has a couple of sets on these. The clips are vintage from one of my treasures hunts 🥰
Another great idea, could use this for anything. Where do you get these great ideas from, love them all. Off to get started on things for my journals, thank you for sharing.👍❤️
Hi Margreth, I love love love all your videos! I wanted to ask you what kind of printer you have? You’ve mentioned that you can print 12X12 papers and I would love to be able to do that too, I don’t really know much about technology so I thought I’d see what you use and just get that! Thank you so much for all you do, you are such an inspiration!! ❤️
I’ve been in art school with Tim Holtz learning about the Oxides and Inks. Bottom line is that both the inks and the oxides have RESIN in them. They may feel dry, but the fact of the matter is that they need to CURE. Depending on the humidity in your area, it can take a short time or a long time. A few hours or a couple of days. As you discovered, heating it does not help. Sorry. I love, love, love your work anyway. Please press on. :-)
Lovely video!! Sorry about the red ink smearing oh my!!! But you made it work and the journal is great!! Have a wonderful weekend!!! (And you are right, that lady's hat was sexy LOLOL jkjk)!!
If your die cut machine works why spend the money to replace it, if it’s just because of the plates that you want to replace it, you should just contact the company to see if you could get replacement plates or measure them and find them on Amazon or maybe even Etsy. That’s what I would do anyway, that way you could use the money saved to buy more crafting supplies 😁😁 that’s how I think anyway. I hope I’ve given you an idea. Happy crafting!
I have been replacing my plates for years. By now the cost of the machine is almost as much as the expensive ones 😂 Also I want to be able to use bigger dies .
@marlydesign gebruikt hem regelmatig in haar video's.
