Way to go! I never expected a foreigner to use the words "stink" and "excited" in the same sentence with reference to durian. It speaks volumes of how astute and adventurous you must be as travelers willing to try things outside your comfort zone. With such open-minded curiosity, every new and unfamiliar experience must be a marvelous learning opportunity.
You saw lots of Bo's Coffee in Cebu because it's a homegrown brand, owned by a Cebuano businessman. It is the first and oldest local coffee chain founded in 1996, one year before Starbucks arrived in the Philippines. Its first store is in that mall (Ayala Center Cebu) as a kiosk and still operating today next to Nike and Bershka. Today, it is the country's largest coffee chain which has since expanded in Metro Manila area and other cities. It has also gone international with over a dozen stores in Qatar.
SM City Cebu is also undergoing expansion by adding a little over 100,000 square meters of mall space plus two 20-storey office towers and 9-storey tower for its Cebu campus of National University.
Its really nice seeing that your family is enjoying your stay in the Philippines. Your kid is cute and now has grown up since you arrive in our coyntry. Someday he will remember and reminisce all the good things in your travelling to different places.
Welcome to Cebu! I live here and let me tell you that SM City Cebu opened on 1993 and the Ayala Mall on 1995. Another fact, that stage at the foodcourt in SM City Cebu was once an ice skating rink back in the 90's when it opened. And you could find a mini roller coaster in the area where the houseware is now.
Seaside Mall is the largest mall in metropolitan Cebu, but hands down Ayala is still has the best vibes for me. Manila has huge malls and a few are one of the top 10 biggest mall in the world. Uniqlo for me. H&M might be second. I also have Polo and Lacoste shirts but seldom wear it.
Hi ya from Brum.. Im living in England for 20 years now.. I should say that Filipinos love to shop at Bench for him/her as we dont have a primark like we have here in the UK.. you guys enjoy the islands you must try to explore bicol where the perfect cone volcano sits and Tagaytay city fir the view of Taal Volcano
Hello guys for me I like the forte of H&M, Zara, Urban Revivo, Mango, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius and Topman in local brands Mossimo and CLN Mid range brands faves are Strathberry, Danse Lente, Rejina Pyo, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch and Polo Ralph Lauren.
The main mall of Ayala Center Cebu will soon undergo renovations most probably next year. The Terraces, The South Wing and The Roof Garden will stay the same as they are later additions. The main mall has never been renovated since it was built 30 years ago in 1993. Unofficial news have it that aside from the renovation of the main mall, it will also undergo expansion by demolishing the existing car park building (near Seda Hotel) to give way to the new annex building for the mall.
There are 4 Bo's Coffee outlets in Ayala Center Cebu alone, including its first outlet (a kiosk) and Primo by Bo's Coffee, its answer to Starbucks Reserve. Starbucks has 2 outlets as well in Ayala Center Cebu (one in Terraces and another in The Roof Garden).
Hi guys, loving your journey. We came across you as we're planning our trip to Philippines next year. Appreciate your honest and vulnerable approach. Are you planning to visit Visayas as we're thinking of adding this to our El Nido and Siargao jorneys? Thanks! ❤
For fruits and veggies I suggest go to fresh market places, cheaper and tastier but depends on the season of what fruits and veggies you can get from fresh market
My my sister loves your blouse. It fits for summer. We’re here in the state of Arizona USA 🇺🇸 117° I love eating sticky rice with coffee in the morning, have more fun guys in the Philippines. stay safe.
fruits are generally absurdly expensive in mall groceries, whereas if you buy in the local markets fruit prices are significantly lower like a quarter of their price as opposed to the ones you get on the malls
The best time to experience our Filipino mall culture is December. That's a whole different level of energy and vibes. Your kid will definitely enjoy it.
For local brands we prefer Bench, penshoppe, oxygen, Human and Jag for international brands Mango, Zara, Paul. & Bear, superdry, guess, uniqluo, aero for luxury brands Gucci, D&G, Armani, lacoste, Ferragamo Salvatore, CK ect alot of brands Filipino will just buy not for the brands but for the style or designs if the clothes will suits them
Not even the 'ber's yet and you are already seeing Christmas? Earlier every year. For clothing: Cebuano local Loalde is great, and Bench. I was excited though when UK's Marks & Spencer came to Ayala long ago when Terraces launched. Good fit for ppl with my build. Best video I've seen on PH mall life, and why it's a necessity. well done...especially with your toddler :). And thank you for that Kettle tip. Shocking. 🤯
Me as a Filipino i have no special preference for a clothing brand. As long as its comfy and simple, considering our hot and humid climate and of course the price is reasonable.😊👍
Nyh you’re so adorable 💙 You probably know the fruits in the grocery store at the mall are ridiculously expensive! On top of that they are not fresh. I refuse to buy them in the grocery stores 🇵🇭. I always go in the market. I know you’re not in the Philippines wondering you all are now 😊? And will you come back to the Philippines? Take care you all wherever you are 🙏🌎
The last time, i came to Cebu, i tried looking for this part of the Ayala mall. But this place may have grown so back. I was not able to see the part shown on the Cebu. So Robinsons win. Since SM was also far away.

I had my college years in Cebu City. And Ayala was my favorite place. Much better than Gaisano Country Mall, SM back then..

They have popular local brands like Bench and Penshoppe but Uniqlo has since beaten them.
