I bought one, matched it up with a Tachnics SL-1900 turntable and a pair of Technics SB-2840 speakers and am pretty pleased with it. For the price it can't be beat.
Those speakers are spec'ed at 6ohms, so you should be fine. Even if they were 4 ohms, that amp would be able to drive it if you kept the volume conservative and maybe added some cooling. The power output numbers are optimistic though.
Can I hook up this turntable to a Sony receiver? I am confused or should I say, I don't know how to hook up the wires from the turntable to the receiver,
If I had any money I'd probably buy one of those. I've got an old 2001 Sony Dolby Digital receiver connected to my computer, and it's old and hot and has 3.1 more channels than I need, and I have to chase bad solder joints every once in a while... This receiver would be perfect for me. Although I could just get off my lazy ass and fix my old Pioneer stereo, but whatever
I have this set up. With the rca inputs in the phono jack. My speakers are passive sony ss-cs5 in the speaker A ports. Im not getting any volume until i turn the knob past 50 and it is relatively low at max. Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
Anyone know if the str-dh190 remote works on the str-dn1040? At least for the volume and bluetooth feature? BTW you cracked me up with the Pure Direct special affects tone
I’m a noob and just getting into vinyl, I have a question plzzz help! Im bout to get the Sony PS-LX310BT with the STRDH190 2-ch Stereo Receiver. I’m looking at speakers and found these “Sony SSCS5 3-Way 3-Driver Bookshelf Speaker System (Pair)” My question is what wires do I need to connect the speaker pair to the STRDH190 receiver to play records from my PS-LX310BT ?
Just a word, when it comes to a turntable, save your money and get a really nice direct drive Audio-Tecnica or similar turntable. Be aware that despite the different names and companies selling turntables, they are all made at the same Chinese factory. Cosmetically, they are different. Mechanically they all are the same, like my 1968 Pioneer turntable. Not much has changed, but when it comes to your vinyl, you want the best to make contact with your record.
This device actual input power 120v/60hz bt I'm using Indian standard 220v/50hz . Can I use any converter for this? If not, can the same Indian standard be used?
It's sad Sony is best known today for PlayStation and that's probably what will keep them in business going forward. That being said I always and will always buy a Sony television because they are amazing at that. Also, I did not know New Hampshire had no sales tax, when I live in out east I would always travel to Delaware to buy major appliances because of their no sales tax laws.
Hey, man. Been a follower for a while and was wondering if you still have that Chef Boyardee pizza kit video? That was funny stuff. Glad to see you’re still doing well! Nothing but the best to you. :)
I'll warn against pairing the dh190 and ps lxbt310 together as there was a hum i was unable to eliminate when the table was connected The table has no ground connection so couldn't even use that to eliminate the source of the hum
Update: The Sony is not built the way the Yamaha was. The PC Board is thin and subject to impact. If you want the Sony to last be very gentle with it. Always transport it in its box and keep original its packaging. A lot of these Sony's are broken or being given away at goodwill. Hardly worthy of the Sony TA-F3A or the TA-2650 with a good Tuner.
Interesting setup. BTW, I have a Pioneer PL-740 direct drive turntable built in 1968 that is leagues better than that POS Sony turntable. I got it from my dad, probably when he and mom moved. Some of these 'retro' units are quite advanced, like the ability to balance the tonearm, anti-skating and auto tonearm operation. But they don't have a preamp built in but also don't have the power brick. You are right that anyone who is going to get into vinyl would be better off looking for a much better unit. The Sony costs way too much, so much more that I would go ahead and get something like the Audio-Technica 120XUSB for $350. Now about $120 more than the Sony but with direct drive and a very good cartridge. The Sony receiver is OK, it can't possibly hurt or damage a record like a bad turntable with basic crap like a crap cartridge and needle.
I am actually quite happy with the setup - it’s not for audiophiles, but for folks getting into vinyl for the first time who want something better than a Crosley suitcase, are on a budget, and have little to no skills for dealing with vintage equipment - this is a pretty sweet package. It really comes down to speakers; those will make or break the experience. Eventually I will repair the 1970s Yamaha receiver I have, but for now, this is fine as a basement stereo.

I have one of these STR-DH190s paired with an Audio-Techinca AT-LP60X. They both sound great.

I agree, it will be fine. Not going to be playing a nightclub levels anyway.

This "sounds" like a great idea 😉

What input device are you using? Need more info
@@bbishoppcm I figured it out. Stylus wasnt properly attached out of the box.
As a complete novice I wanted to ask this question, the Sony turntable can be paired with this receiver?
It will work with any receiver as it has both pre-amp outputs as well as amplified outputs.

Should be just standard speaker wire; 14 or 16 gauge.

Better of without the psu out the deck unless it's very well designed to prevent hum coming through the cartridge.

I have the same Sony record player. I like it for a entry level player

Nothing beats *analog* . I prefer ''old school''...forget blue tooth. That word makes me think of a Pirate name.
