- I've had these ceramic grinder inserts for sometime, just never got round to using them until now. Wanted to see how long these would take to see if they are worth putting on my website, these two will be on there as the trial pieces and then later on I will start offering these. Just wanted to narrow down the process of making them.
Wood is Apple covered in plenty of Burl, finished in shellac and then buffed. Resin is food safe resin.

Beautiful pieces - I would love to buy them when they are available. Before you release them I would test coarse sea salt, Himalayan pink salt (both around the same size crystals as pepper corns) and Kosher salt flakes. I'm guessing they will all work fine with the correct grinder settings, but I imagine people who buy these works of art are likely to be using high-end salts in them.

At 4:03 is that a thread you're cutting or just a series of grooves? I'm hoping it's a thread because I've never seen it done like that and would be very interested to know more.
And 60 seconds later there's the answer. I should learn to not pull the trigger so early. Screw thread cutting system. That's very very interesting. I'll look into that. Thanks.
