The biggest problem with YT channels that try to act all family friendly is that their audience grows out of it and they move on to something else. If creators want to keep themselves relevant they have to change up their content and that way they will grow alongside with the audience and they will continue watching. Sadly Jelly is an example of someone who is doing the same content for a long time, doesn't even bother to change up his style, and of course never tries to grow with his audience.
i mean yea, if you look at stampy sadly he hasnt really grown up past 2016 compared to someone like dantdm (who is also an og) has stated that he is growing up with the audience. comparing the 2 youtubers views dantdm is higher. altho admittedly dantdm has been uploading less but to be fair dan does also have 2 kids
I think the only example of a youtuber to successfully maintain a well sized audience is flamingo. Edit: I meant only example I can think of, and only example I still watch
The issue with these gaming channels are that these channels mostly attract younger audience, who obviously with time grows up and matures from these kind of contents.
He still gets like 200-400k views per video. Bought a 6.5 million dollar house and all these luxury items. Yeah, it’s sad to see someone from most of our childhood lose support/viewership and it’s sad that we are all growing up, but Jelly is fine lol.
Probably the most potent example of simply "growing up". I really appreciated this upload more than most "downfall" videos because it clearly was more of a growing older (and having to take on other responsibilities besides goofing off on a video stream) and finding new avenues to work and play within. You only have one life...live it!
Also jelly didn’t fall off. He gets 50 million views a month. Meanwhile pewdiepie gets 40 Million views a month. So with this logic does that mean pewds is more dead then jelly

I think the family friendly demonetizations were the real start of their decline. Although they kept growing, it did start kicking out part of their audience that enjoyed the freak outs and the uncensored content.
Also in my opinion the whole not caring about being demonetize is what makes a majority of channels still be relevant my go to example is vanossgaming and his friends sure they censor stuff now but they still just don't care and just do what they want and just play with eachother which in my opinion is what a content creator does make actually entertaining content that they actually enjoy
There really isn't an earth-shattering reason why many of the channels in your series decline. The answer is simple: no-one stays on top forever. Audiences change and move on to other things as their interests change.
I used to watch these guys when I was young, but I never knew why their videos stopped being as frequent or as good bc I moved on as many others did. It is somewhat cathartic to actually know what happened to the creators of the content I watched as a child. Thank you sunny
Markiplier despite the fact that he did fell off since he gets max average of 5 million per video out of 34 million subs, still is a significantly successful figure, probably because of the fact that he changes up his content every once in a while (Channel Based Lore videos, Gameplay with the two best boys Bob and Wade, Trending topics but not too saturated), the man actually knows how to keep the community he built up and entertained for years. So why can't these guys follow in the same footsteps? Probably complacency to the algorithm or maybe they're too comfortable.
I stopped watching Markiplier years ago, mostly due to him reaching a level of immaturity I simply didn't find funny (Same reason I moved on from LTT) and one too many emotional videos of him claiming he lost his ways and would do better. I won't deny that he's still a prevalent figure, I would argue that some of his relevancy is also due to him on occasion helping his community/ other creators. @@obscurifyed That's true. Factoring in the fact that he seems happy and healthy, I would say he's truly a cut above some like Nikocado Avacado, just because of those two points.
thing is the only reason he fell off was because he turned family friendly, I always used to have fun watching his channel but then at first he stopped swearing, less rage quitting and being himself and instead started to put a front to a much younger audience, which marked the depart of his old fans and the wave of kids. and after those grew up, nobody was left for him.
True, I watched jelly before the covid pandemic, and it was so much fun back then. Even when he censored his swear words it still was funny.but at 1 year ago, when I was 10 I just stopped watching them, I saw there was more than just minecraft(the one I liked), gta 5 and other stuff. And then I slowly watched less and less videos of him.
this trio was a huge part of my life for so long, especially Kwebblekop. I remember being in LA and seeing Kwebblekop at the same party, and thinking it was so cool back in 2018. The truth is the reason why I know i stopped watching, and maybe others, is because it really felt like as we were getting older, the content wasn't appealing to our demographic as much anymore, and i moved on to other creators. I wish all of them the best, I'll always remember the laughs and happy moments.
Kids at my old middle school loved this guy. I tried getting to know his content back in 7th grade, but I felt as if it was just too much. Crazy fact: All the people I know that used to watch Jelly now have depression.
First watched them in 2016 it’s really sad to see them fall off since. Loved these guys and they helped me through a lot. But now I can say that the family friendly stuff isn’t really working I guess but more kids are joining the platform so I get that. Miss these guys and I wish them the best
faceless channels are generally low effort and automated. thats not whats happening here. SunnyV2 has many many videos with his face and has always put tons of effort into his videos - he can now enjoy the viewership from dedicated subs who have been with him for years and enjoy his content regardless of whether he faces or not
@@pboytrif1 Whoa big boy, you're reading a lot into the word "faceless." Faceless just means faceless. He doesn't appear in the videos. It means nothing about effort, quality, etc.
On top of that, the content is also just more entertaining for all ages. Any age finds guns interesting, cool, etc. Not so much for Fortnite and Roblox.
@@sdtok527 yea he’s super materialistic but instead of being like “look what I got” he uses the things (a veterinarian office, cars, trucks, guns, abandoned mansion) for other channels and other audiences and casually mentions them
Realistically they should make a podcast its once a week,40-60 min episodes would be great they don't even have to be in the same room, online would do just fine. I would definitely listen to them.
I think, like you stated, if the creator commits the fans will. Look at DanTDm, he talks to his fans, communicates what he's looking for, asks what they want, and follows through; and still has many fans who watch the vids he uploads. It's like a relationship, you have to commit to get commitment.
Most of the UA-camrs I used to watch and still kind of watch from time to time, are like Jelly, they don't change up their content, its always GTA5 or reaction vids, its all the same. But I still have respect for them since they were a part of my childhood.
Finally, someone talks about this. Yeah, there haven't been any big games since Among Us(4:52) which makes me very nervous. Like I'm literally waiting for a trend like the Resurgence of Minecraft a while now.
Man it’s sad to see this happen to him. I continually watched him from January 2017 till around mid 2019 and the content was on point and very entertaining during that time but now this is not the same UA-camr that was what I watched but man those videos are absolute bangers still.
These videos are nothing short of the best documentary quality on UA-cam for UA-cam related stories. I love them. Please do the creatures next! That story has got some beeeeef
Theres this big curve on youtube for the past 5 years that's affecting 95% of content creators of all sides. Prank videos, gaming content, commentary videos, a lot has happened, and those good timea of youtube is nothing more to me than childhood memories.
And it sucks bc I agree with everything you said. From 2016 to 2019 Kweb Jelly and Slogo were all my favorite UA-camrs. But once they started to go towards the family friendly route and when Kweb left it never felt the same. It sucks for them but not everything can last forever.
As another commenter on here said. You can’t stay family friendly forever because after a while, your audience aren’t kids anymore. You can see how excellently PewDiePie handled this, although not representative in his views, he changed his content as his audience grew older. Then there’s the other end of the spectrum like Minecraft, where they seem to go into the opposite direction. We all used to play it as kids and now, when we’re all well into/past our teens they create this chat reporting system as if we’re not aware of swear words and the like.
From what I've seen, people seem to start hating content creators when they start showing off their luxury that they now have and see the people slowly changing from what they really are on the inside. Money doesn't change people it just brings out who you are at your very core.
I never watched Jelle, but he looked like a very creative and unique creator who had everything going for him. It seems as if burnout and luxury have been the death of many channels lately… and not to mention UA-cam’s strict policies and ridiculous monetization stuff which doesn’t help in the slightest. As someone who wants to be a content creator on UA-cam, all this is going to make my dream harder to achieve
I remember when I was like 9 I used to love his videos, he was like the only UA-camr I watched, but as I got older, his childish content stopped appealing to me, and I think it's the same for a lot of other people. The audience grew up, his content didn't. Still, I have major respect for him, he was great watching when I was younger, and I'm glad I ended up watching him instead of some other children's channel.
It doesn’t matter honestly, I used to watch this trio all the time during 2013-2017, all of their audience grew up and now they do whatever find enjoyable even if it’s entertaining much younger audience I’m sure they’re doing fine financially lol
I agree on Mrbeast not being distracted by the byproducts, but it’s kind of amazing how far he goes, he doesn’t drive super cars when he literally gives them away and until he got robbed, he was living in a very normal home
Ngl you're amazing at this type of content keeping us up on what happened to our favorite content creators. I want them to be happy in the end they kept a lot of us entertained and i'll miss watching them but their attitude just changed since of the yt rules it just sucks.
Nah, its just because the audience grew up. We became older and so did them. Bless them for givin me the best childhood YT channels back then in 2016 Robust is gonna be in my memories.
10 minutes since this video is out, and already 16K views. This is how you know, that the content creator makes amazing content which others love ... Kudos sunny.
A lot of the topics you cover on these videos I have no idea about nor would I usually care about.. but the way you present them is just so fascinating. It makes me immediately want to learn more. Does this help me to fill my head with this unimportant fodder for my ears and eyes? Not at all 🤣 But it's a nice escape from reality. Thank you!
This is sad. What a big difference from before to now 😕. He was one of my favourite youtubers and a moment in 2019 the downfall was kind of noticeable. He can still be pretty awesome & still hope the best for him tbh.
its so dad, Jelly kinda made my childhood in terms of youtubers I watched when I wasn't being a menace to society outside with my friends, I remember his videos being extremely entertaining, it's sad to see him fall... while he did do it to himself by not 'growing up with his audience' to keep them watching, its still sad to see a once HUGELY popular creator be pretty much completely forgotten.
Watching the trio beginning of middle school made me excited to watch him everyday even before the community guidelines were serious but I didn’t care if they used foul language or anything that can be disrespectful I personally feel like however they act was awesome seeing them being themselves made it funny I personally feel like they have the potential to be better if they didn’t have these community guidelines in my opinion cause sometimes you have to break the rules to get a good result seeing his videos now almost done with high school it’s just not the same as it used to be which breaks my heart
This man is the only person who could make me watch an entire 10 minute video on a guy I don't even know exists. So interesting for some reason.. I must have moreeee
i used to watch jelly when i was young and it was the greatest time of my life, but, as i got older, i moved on from the gang including jelly and watched other youtubers who were more mature for my age level. his content isnt dead but, his viewers has changed.
I actually knew jelly and Kwebblekop, there was some drama between almost all of them. And when it came to collabs it was weirdly all business. Heavily ego impacted, Very inflexible and somewhat unwilling to let things flow naturally. That is very clear in hindsight of course, their content never evolved. But I always felt like it gave a plastic feel to the content. Since I’m such a pretentious snob about content I should just make my own
The biggest problem with YT channels that try to act all family friendly is that their audience grows out of it and they move on to something else. Fr I'm so sad
thing is the only reason he fell off was because he turned family friendly, I always used to have fun watching his channel but then at first he stopped swearing, less rage quitting and being himself and instead started to put a front to a much younger audience, which marked the depart of his old fans and the wave of kids.
and after those grew up, nobody was left for him.
he is a true failure. get to know him at your local maccas.
The youtube algorithm pushed him to family friendly
Did you just say you stopped watching him bc he started being himself? 💀💀💀

this trio was a huge part of my life for so long, especially Kwebblekop.

He has videos with his face if that's what you mean, but I understand recently he doesn't do them anymore, so yeah
Very smart guy I guess. Taking other peoples succesful names and basing videos around them will attract views.

faceless channels are generally low effort and automated. thats not whats happening here.

And also being a bit materialistic as well, but staying true to his YT audience.
On top of that, the content is also just more entertaining for all ages. Any age finds guns interesting, cool, etc. Not so much for Fortnite and Roblox.

Sunny's voice is so calming, the man always convinces me to sit and watch a 10+ minute video about someone I've never heard of
I remember watching the Robust Trio at his peak, especially their new york vlogs. Absolute kino back then, now not so much. Sad to see it end.
I think, like you stated, if the creator commits the fans will. Look at DanTDm, he talks to his fans, communicates what he's looking for, asks what they want, and follows through; and still has many fans who watch the vids he uploads. It's like a relationship, you have to commit to get commitment.
6:29 that synced really well
Most of the UA-camrs I used to watch and still kind of watch from time to time, are like Jelly, they don't change up their content, its always GTA5 or reaction vids, its all the same. But I still have respect for them since they were a part of my childhood.

7:17 Jeezus. A 10 million dollar boat is a pretty ridiculous purchase.
Theres this big curve on youtube for the past 5 years that's affecting 95% of content creators of all sides. Prank videos, gaming content, commentary videos, a lot has happened, and those good timea of youtube is nothing more to me than childhood memories.
gaming content is way to saturated unless u have a popular icon or brand or just be creative you would not get any
I am so happy that about 90% of the youtubers this channel covers never were on my radar.

Used to watch Jelly all the time in 2016 and 2017 and then grew old off it. Still had a part of my early teen years
From what I've seen, people seem to start hating content creators when they start showing off their luxury that they now have and see the people slowly changing from what they really are on the inside.
I make entertaining vids just like SunnyV2. I bet 100% it'll make u laugh. If not you can come to tell me bro..
All he did was scream and do GTA races with his friends, far from original. His content was mid at best.
I remember when I was like 9 I used to love his videos, he was like the only UA-camr I watched, but as I got older, his childish content stopped appealing to me, and I think it's the same for a lot of other people. The audience grew up, his content didn't. Still, I have major respect for him, he was great watching when I was younger, and I'm glad I ended up watching him instead of some other children's channel.

its so dad, Jelly kinda made my childhood in terms of youtubers I watched when I wasn't being a menace to society outside with my friends, I remember his videos being extremely entertaining, it's sad to see him fall... while he did do it to himself by not 'growing up with his audience' to keep them watching, its still sad to see a once HUGELY popular creator be pretty much completely forgotten.
