The Brutal 92% Decline Of Jelly
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 лют 2023
- Jelly was one of the fastest growing UA-camrs throughout the 2010s, being best friends with Kwebbelkop and Slogo, but recently his growth has slowed dramatically. Why? Did he become out of touch with his older subscribers? Did he become too distracted by external possessions? Or was his decline a pure result of the Robust Trio (Jelly, Kwebbelkop & Slogo) eventually coming to an end?
This video will explore each of these questions, as we look into,
The Brutal Decline Of Jelly
Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, SunnyV2
Also, the idea for this video was inspired by BillsYT who posted a video on a similar topic in December 2022 titled " Why Jelly LOST His ENTIRE Audience! (-96% Loss In Viewership) " You can watch his version here - • Why Jelly LOST His ENT... - Розваги
The biggest problem with YT channels that try to act all family friendly is that their audience grows out of it and they move on to something else. If creators want to keep themselves relevant they have to change up their content and that way they will grow alongside with the audience and they will continue watching. Sadly Jelly is an example of someone who is doing the same content for a long time, doesn't even bother to change up his style, and of course never tries to grow with his audience.
That^!!

i mean yea, if you look at stampy sadly he hasnt really grown up past 2016 compared to someone like dantdm (who is also an og) has stated that he is growing up with the audience. comparing the 2 youtubers views dantdm is higher. altho admittedly dantdm has been uploading less but to be fair dan does also have 2 kids
I think the only example of a youtuber to successfully maintain a well sized audience is flamingo. Edit: I meant only example I can think of, and only example I still watch
The issue with these gaming channels are that these channels mostly attract younger audience, who obviously with time grows up and matures from these kind of contents.

Oh my God is there not one comment that doesn't have a million not replies
@@thegreatestoctopus9739 your the problem
its not just that though as markiplier has remained relevant since he started. Its multiple factors that lead to a decline.
@@gotyoumad6828 Damn knew I should have killed myself long ago
Probably the most potent example of simply "growing up". I really appreciated this upload more than most "downfall" videos because it clearly was more of a growing older (and having to take on other responsibilities besides goofing off on a video stream) and finding new avenues to work and play within. You only have one life...live it!
Who said you only have one life?

Also jelly didn’t fall off. He gets 50 million views a month. Meanwhile pewdiepie gets 40
Million views a month. So with this logic does that mean pewds is more dead then jelly

@@WarmestProductyour right. We need to stop religious groups from stopping life extensions technology so people that don't have kids can live longer until they have them. Getting a second life before reproducing and finishing their purpose
It makes me glad the true titanic trios of UA-cam like Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye and Markiplier are doing well,
sure they don't collab often but they are on their healthy tracks maintaining good friendship behind the scenes.
Dude pewdiepie gets 40 million views a month. Jelly gets 50 million views a month. Using this you can safely say jelly isn’t a dead UA-camr bro.
@@irenaveksler1935 you missed my point by a long shot.
@@GalyTheSugarLover yeah. But you mentioned this on a jelly video. Bro. The whole point of that video was pretty much saying he was dead, meanwhile jelly gets more views then pewds, although less then mark and jack
@Irena veksler cool, you could comment that on it's own and not as a reply, I never implied their channels died
I meant friendship and a healthy way of life
They're chill as heck, Jelly nowadays is grinding his ass off to get views.
It's different.
@@GalyTheSugarLover Jelly is not grinding. He literally said in his reaction to the video he just plays the game for 30 minutes and then hands it to the editors and then posts
The fact that he was able to gain such a large viewer count on games like gta V and minecraft after their peaks is still impressive in my opinion.
Not rly

GTA V is an institution that hasn't really grown old.
The 2 most popular games at the time? Easy.
He still gets like 200-400k views per video. Bought a 6.5 million dollar house and all these luxury items. Yeah, it’s sad to see someone from most of our childhood lose support/viewership and it’s sad that we are all growing up, but Jelly is fine lol.

I love this channel, gives me the same anxiety that gives me when watching a movie I already watched and the part of the conflict is about to start, but gives me a lot of insight of the Do's and Don'ts for my eventual content, right now I rather wait till I'm in the position to actually offer something consistent and entertaining than jump in and out with Ctrl C + Ctrl V content
Did his content get boring? No. All of his viewers grew up.
Just like his friends, their audience grows up and moves on. He sticks to being family friendly while other YTers have a more mature content

I think the family friendly demonetizations were the real start of their decline. Although they kept growing, it did start kicking out part of their audience that enjoyed the freak outs and the uncensored content.
Also I liked his slither io
Also in my opinion the whole not caring about being demonetize is what makes a majority of channels still be relevant my go to example is vanossgaming and his friends sure they censor stuff now but they still just don't care and just do what they want and just play with eachother which in my opinion is what a content creator does make actually entertaining content that they actually enjoy
thats what made me leave
@Capybara jack he made a video reacting to this
Watch Zanny he is cool :)
There really isn't an earth-shattering reason why many of the channels in your series decline. The answer is simple: no-one stays on top forever. Audiences change and move on to other things as their interests change.
Ngl you're amazing at this type of content keeping us up on what happened to our favorite content creators. I want them to be happy in the end they kept a lot of us entertained and i'll miss watching them but their attitude just changed since of the yt rules it just sucks.
Markiplier despite the fact that he did fell off since he gets max average of 5 million per video out of 34 million subs, still is a significantly successful figure, probably because of the fact that he changes up his content every once in a while (Channel Based Lore videos, Gameplay with the two best boys Bob and Wade, Trending topics but not too saturated), the man actually knows how to keep the community he built up and entertained for years. So why can't these guys follow in the same footsteps? Probably complacency to the algorithm or maybe they're too comfortable.
markiplier?
Yeah I noticed that
I stopped watching Markiplier years ago, mostly due to him reaching a level of immaturity I simply didn't find funny (Same reason I moved on from LTT) and one too many emotional videos of him claiming he lost his ways and would do better. I won't deny that he's still a prevalent figure, I would argue that some of his relevancy is also due to him on occasion helping his community/ other creators. Staying relevant on an ever-growing platform isn't easy so it is commendable. At the end of the day at least he has remained controversy-free (To my knowledge) when compared to countless other channels (Too many to name, but for me, the loss of RT and AH is something I remain disappointed about).
cool story bro
if you get 5 mio views you didnt fall off. subscription numbers dont mean anything anynore

Wow, I remember watching Jelly and seeing all of this happen: the forming of the friend group, the absence of Slogoman, the phase with crainer. But I never actually connected the dots to the bigger picture, I unironically feel enlightened and I just see all the minute things I've been missing while I was a child.
These videos are nothing short of the best documentary quality on UA-cam for UA-cam related stories. I love them.
Please do the creatures next! That story has got some beeeeef
I remember watching Jelly and the trio in 2016 - 2017, I watched their videos EVERY SINGLE DAY and I loved them. It's genuinely so sad to see all their channels die within the same 2 years. What's really sad about this for me is that one of their GTA 5 videos (can't remember which one) was the first video I ever watched on UA-cam.
*Here is the full clip: Jelly commented on this*

Wow, it's weird hearing how one of his videos was the first video you watched on UA-cam.
I watched jelly from march 2020 to April 2022 (around the time when Crainer was leaving the group), but I still occasionally watch it again because the trio united again.
SunnyV is the only man who can make me watch an entire documentary of someone that I completely know nothing about.
is that not the whole point of documentaries?
10 minute documentary? Hardly a film length commitment...
So true.

And it sucks bc I agree with everything you said. From 2016 to 2019 Kweb Jelly and Slogo were all my favorite UA-camrs. But once they started to go towards the family friendly route and when Kweb left it never felt the same. It sucks for them but not everything can last forever.
Watching the trio beginning of middle school made me excited to watch him everyday even before the community guidelines were serious but I didn’t care if they used foul language or anything that can be disrespectful I personally feel like however they act was awesome seeing them being themselves made it funny I personally feel like they have the potential to be better if they didn’t have these community guidelines in my opinion cause sometimes you have to break the rules to get a good result seeing his videos now almost done with high school it’s just not the same as it used to be which breaks my heart

I remember watching the Robust Trio at his peak, especially their new york vlogs. Absolute kino back then, now not so much. Sad to see it end.
A lot of the topics you cover on these videos I have no idea about nor would I usually care about.. but the way you present them is just so fascinating. It makes me immediately want to learn more. It feels like Markiplier is the only gaming created who has had a high amount of views for a long period. He’s never really fallen off considering he still gets 1-5 million views a video.
Markiplier never attached himself to FNAF the way Jelly attached himself to GTA. Plus, the target audience of Markiplier's videos span over a wide age demographic, so as his audience grows up, they can still be entertained, but he can also attract newer, younger viewers. This is the same thing MatPat did. So even if Jelly played a variety of games, his viewer churn rate was far too high, and thus unsustainable.
like he said,Ytbers such as pewds and markiplier grow with the audience, they know that the viewers are fans of long ago, instead of just keep uploading video constantly.i hope i am right.

very true, documentary style content has been one of the only genres of youtube that has maintained popularity throughout the years
This man with his GTA videos was my entire childhood. Disappointed to where he's ended up.
Don’t feel disappointed. He still is happy unlike many others. He looks cheerful in his videos and admittedly say he is a dead UA-cam. From that, you can conclude he already feels accomplished. I mean like who wouldn’t? A diamond play button and have more than 20 mill subs. I’ll take that even if my views decline in the end. At the end of the day, not everyone’s video views will fluctuate or remain consistently.
@@obscurifyed That's true. Factoring in the fact that he seems happy and healthy, I would say he's truly a cut above some like Nikocado Avacado, just because of those two points.

Yeah, there haven't been any big games since Among Us(4:52) which makes me very nervous. Like I'm literally waiting for a trend like the Resurgence of Minecraft a while now.
it was heartbreaking to find out what happened to Crainer... I wish him the best
thing is the only reason he fell off was because he turned family friendly, I always used to have fun watching his channel but then at first he stopped swearing, less rage quitting and being himself and instead started to put a front to a much younger audience, which marked the depart of his old fans and the wave of kids.
and after those grew up, nobody was left for him.
he is a true failure. get to know him at your local maccas.
True, I watched jelly before the covid pandemic, and it was so much fun back then. Even when he censored his swear words it still was funny.but at 1 year ago, when I was 10 I just stopped watching them, I saw there was more than just minecraft(the one I liked), gta 5 and other stuff. And then I slowly watched less and less videos of him.
The youtube algorithm pushed him to family friendly

I remember when I was like 9 I used to love his videos, he was like the only UA-camr I watched, but as I got older, his childish content stopped appealing to me, and I think it's the same for a lot of other people. The audience grew up, his content didn't. Still, I have major respect for him, he was great watching when I was younger, and I'm glad I ended up watching him instead of some other children's channel.
I’d like to point out Matt at demo ranch. He is THE PERFECT example of how to grow yet stay relevant throughout his channels and career.
And also being a bit materialistic as well, but staying true to his YT audience.
On top of that, the content is also just more entertaining for all ages. Any age finds guns interesting, cool, etc. Not so much for Fortnite and Roblox.
@@sdtok527 yea he’s super materialistic but instead of being like “look what I got” he uses the things (a veterinarian office, cars, trucks, guns, abandoned mansion) for other channels and other audiences and casually mentions them

faceless channels are generally low effort and automated. thats not whats happening here.
