  • This event was a party that took place in 1960's Taiwan. Originally there was no plan to perform, but someone just happened to have a camera and the fun began. In this video you will see boxers such as Su Yuchang (who performs mantis) and Hung Yihsiang.

This video is actually of a trip where, Master Kanei Uechi of Uechi Ryu Karate, went on an exploration to find the roots of his art. He is seen sitting in the back behind the table to the right.

I truly love these clips. I think they represent something very pure in Chinese Martial Arts. It amazes me that those kids doing the simultaneous form around 3:33 are probably into their 50s by now.

Priceless archived footage of martial arts in Taiwan in that era. Video cam didn't exist then (1960's), so this is indeed quite rare, and the picture quality is reasonably good too, unfortunately there's no explanatory text to enlighten us viewers as to who's the martial artist and what form he/she was playing. If someone can edit the clips and add the information it will be more informative and educative to general viewers. Great footage, I really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.

The ground form at 5:33 I do believe is the great grandmaster Gao Dao-Sheng (Kao Tao Sheng).

    O cara que faz o estilo " Canela de Gesso " é o melhor! Meu segundo preferido é o " Garras de papel " !

TCMA one of the best documents that shows the powers, practicality and existance of tcma way before wu shu or mma.

This is KUNG FU! Today the forms are just beatiful, but their are not efective and not natural! These masters trained hard and they knew complex movements, but they could do it naturaly

Are you referring to the wushu developed under the auspices of the Peoples Republic which looks more like limb flailing? You can tell old style kung fu by it being not as fancy as wu shu and the movements being focused and having intent.

u kno i find u funny u dont believe in kung fu. My friend he fights in the octagon, and he took his opponent down in less than two minutes solely using white crane. Man UFC and Pride really messed up the media. BTW my friend is benny, hes a professional trainer listed as top 100 from fitness magazine, he trains under the gracies during this summer in chicago. ANd FYI chicago has one of the top MMA centers in the nation. stop being ignorant.
