- I saw a short clip from Flamu's video and thought the original was too short and included too little of the movie, so I made my own !
Thanks to WG giving us 2 days of free premium, I've grinded up to the Stock Izumo which surprisingly isn't that bad !
That said, you won't get deleted like stock Fuso & Nagato but you can't hit shit at long range while you will eat torps at close range due to rubbish rudder shift time. So it'll still be a hard grind...

Saw this in theaters with my father (ex Navy). I asked him what he thought of it and he went into a half hour long lecture as to why this movie was so full of itself. He served on a steam turbine powered ship and it takes hours to start them up. And yeah, the anchor.

Connor McLernon Well, the Missouri USED #6 diesel fuel, which indeed takes that long to start up due to the fact that you have to run it through preheaters if you want to send it anywhere in the ship, seeing as how it has the texture of molasses. HOWEVER, the Navy switched the Iowa-class battleships to #2 diesel(what normal trucks use) because #6 was a. more expensive due to scarcity, since nearly nothing uses it these days, and b. a general pain in the ass to use. They could start the ships up in less than 3 minutes from the time they threw the switches with #2 fuel.

to be fair to the movie, this is something sailing ships where able to do with anchors, but i dont think it would work with a 60,000 ton battleship. even a DD outweighs old sailing vessels in tonnage.
Hunter McNeer No this isn't how anchors work. Anchors work by using its own weight to stop the ship moving, so the ship should gradually slow down when the anchor hits the sea bed. But in this movie it works like a hook to the sea bed which is totally false
Not really. Anchors and their chains or cables are not meant for that usage. At best you would snap the cable on the sailing ship and turn everyone in the compartment into a fine paste when that line snapped back. that wouldn't even work on a 13 foot aluminum jonny boat.
It did happen to me once where an Iowa shot at my Amagi and my game glitched out and stopped me dead in my tracks so the Iowa's shells didn't hit.

It wouldn't be so bad if the movie was at least 1% accurate, but they couldn't even manage that. There is suspension of disbelief and there is insulting the intelligence of your audience.

1. Find some chain, Anchor, and Anchor Mounts material that has a higher tensile strength then any known material. Heard James Cameron has some leftover Unobtainium laying around.
2. Find a rock that's strong enough to not just break apart when the anchor hits.

Citadel hits and normal hits count separately, in that clip it means 6 out of 9 shells hit the Missouri, 4 citadel hits, 1 normal pen, 1 overpen. The remaining 3 shells may have hit the ship as well but not before the Missouri is dead

Anchors are meant to slow down ships that size and bigger. It would be possible to at the very least slow it down without ripping the ship in half. I will agree however that this manuever is impossible to pull off irl. You gotta admit it looks awesome tho.
That and the ship wouldn't turn like that.

ComentAndDoment It is legal, it is not counted as aimbot or unfair advantage. Because there is no advantage at all, I can see how the enemy is angled with my own eyes. Because how the enemy ship is angled does not gives me a "sweet spot aim assist", since I still have to aim myself. According to forum posts this mod is even in WG's official mod pack. Otherwise please give me your justification.
Jolly Wong Well on long range its hard to see if hes angled or not. Newbs are getting the important knowledge :D Well only my opinion tho. Playing without any mods since 1 year
