I saw them in the late sixties and they sounded like shit. I was confused. Why was everyone applauding? Same experience with the stones in the 60's. Stones in the early 80's sounded great. I will always feel fortunate to have witnessed this time in music from the early 60's until today.

The connection between Jimmy and the guitar is inexplicable, incredible, almost supernatural. He didn't sing and spoke little so his precious fingers, long, dainty and pretty , made the guitar the translator of his feelings, listening to Jimmy play is like talking to him without saying a word, we can hear his soul, feel his emotions… ❤
No doubt, Jimmy Page's bond with the guitar is seriously next level. His own words really show just how deep his connection runs with his instrument. It's mind-blowing how he can pour out his feelings and tales without even saying a word, just by jamming on those strings. When you watch him play, it's like you're tapping right into his soul, feeling every emotion as his fingers glide over the frets. It's a crazy cool connection he has with his guitar, one that keeps fans everywhere totally mesmerized.
During interviews he seems lost without his guitar, he needs it as much as air to breath. His oneness with he’s guitars, is why hands down he’s the greatest ever, people can name others but it just not the same at all. I hate when they say he’s sloppy, has he made some mistakes YES, just as I’m quite sure others have. I love in the live MSG, playing Stairway To Heaven he makes a slight mistake, & Plant looks at him & smiles. They embraced the imperfections, & that’s what made them the greatest.
I’d still love to know who coughed at the end of studio In My Time Of Dying, I loved it.
Recently, I replaced my phone. I set the opening to "Whole Lotta Love" as my ringtone. One week later, this video popped up in my UA-cam feed. I must be a seer!
Jimmy Page is magic with the guitar. Creative, bold, pushing the envelope constantly. For me, Led Zeppelin is the greatest Rock Band of all time. Jimmy Page is the creative genius behind the band in so many ways - one of which is creating guitar riffs that will continue to capture attention and inspire guitarist.
Yes they & he are, I think so many if not all of his riffs are amazing. You can tell in the lives, Page loved Plants vocals, & Plant loved Jimmy’s amazing solos. So yes you can tell they would feed off each other, almost like telepathic twins. Even when improvising, they just seemed to know what the other was going to do. Nobody else could or will ever create what these four GODS created.

I was born at the perfect time for rock music for me. Saw the Beatles in 1964. Bought my first Hendrix album in 1967 I think. Janis Joplin. Led Zep at 18. Jeff Beck, Cream...no room for all. Gratitude. Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton before my time but not before my appreciation. My dad was a studio jazz guitarist. He taught me how to listen. Great music to listen to. Gratitude.
Whole Lotta Love is a favorite along with Kashmir, and many, many more, but all of them are iconic sounds on their own.❤️🥰👍

Whole Lotta Love is Led Zeppelin’s greatest GUITAR riff, Black Dog is Led Zeppelin’s greatest BASS riff.
I guessed it. Zep II was my christmas gift in 1969. Face-melting music. The solo on Whole lotta love is epic as well.

I played this album constantly. The most powerful album ever. Dark Side of the Moon is a very, very close second.

Shows you can’t trust the media, Jimmy never owned a house boat. He lived in a boathouse in Pangbourne but not a house boat.
Page and Hendrix were just about Equals. But on overall Body of Work: It's Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Gilmour, in that order.
I'm a guitarist, and I've always declared that Page and Hendrix were very different players equally brilliant in their own way. Hendrix had more of the R&B soul flavor whereas Page's foundation was 50's rock. Both played blues in non-traditional manner. (Clapton strived to be more traditional). As for technique, I'm giving Page one star above Hendrix. Watch Page play The Song Remains the Same and notice his right hand hybrid picking. The complexity of that is unmatched from any of his contemporaries.
As a guitarist you could argue any way you like. They were all great. I am a huge LZ fan and therefore a Jimmy Page fan, but the next guy might have a different opinion. Where I think Page stands above the rest is all if the other things that he brings - writing, producing, etc. IMHO the only band that approaches the diversity and complexity of LZ is The Beatles. Edit: one of the great things about LZ is that it was not a one man show. Other band members, IMHO JPJ in particular, deserve a lot of credit for contributing to that diversity.

That Whole Lotta Love riff isn't as easy to play as people like to say. Page was a master on the guitar.
Wrong. The cottage and Wales wasn’t visited until 1970. That was a place Robert Plant’s family used to go when they were children. He wrote it at his house in pangbourne
If you listen to Son House, you can hear Jimmy. Blues are the best ingredient for heavy rock with a lead guitar. No doubt that Zep borrowed from others in the past but even the Baroque classical musicians did it. There are so many notes and melodies that can be created. It is all good to expand on an existing idea that someone else created. And many songs gave credit to the originals on Zep albums. Music should be shared and enjoyed, and payed back if it is called for.
I've seen them in concert 4 times. Always great. If you want to hear them at their best you need at least a four channel system. Like my old Quadraphonic. With the digital remakes it leaves a lot to be desired.

The more Page I hear the more I realise he borrowed quite a bit from other players that rhythm in the beginning is extremely similar to Hendrix’s Spanish Castle Magic beginning especially the live version and also part of the intro in No Quarter is straight out of Hendrix’s Machine Gun the lead up to the second verse particularly the Band of Gypsies version, I get it he is an influential player but for goodness sake the hero worshipping is just gone too far that goes for SRV and Gary Moore too.

The straight up straight ahead beat/groove, that kazoo lead, not to mention that lol freaking guitar intro it's just a fun Country song, it doesn't *depress* you like most Country music, actually makes most people smile again because its fun, it's *not* this serious rock drama anthem. But hey we all have our opinions. The Mighty Zepp shows the Country community how it's done lol in one song.
I listened to a lot of rock , back in the mid to late 60’s thur the early to mid 2000’s , and I saw everybody who was , anybody ! And yes , I saw this guys back in 6-72 , in Pittsburg, Pa . And yeah , they was good , but not my favorite ! That came later , when I saw , AC⚡️DC , at the Stanley theater, also in Pittsburg , Pa. when Bon was still alive , they were on the “Highway To Hell” tour , and this was just a warm up show …But , Angus , was unlike any guitarist , I had seen before , I had seen them once before , but they were only a warm up , to the head liner …I was too , drunk and high , to remember much of the show , but after Bon , I went to every show , they did , in Pa. Md. Va. And they was my favorite band of all time … Angus , is but , about 10 months , my junior!
