As a firefighter I'll say this. Yes the training is unbelievably hard. Yes the actual job is incredibly hard. But we dont get much recognition for it especially the volunteers they litterally do what these guys do but they do it with a normal job and sacrifice their free time to do this. The mental part of this is the real difficult part. Seeing dead mutilated children, losing a cpr patient, dragging people out of a burning building and so many other things. So everytime you see a firetruck or even hear a siren just say a prayer.
Im only 17 and ive been thinking of becoming a firefighter , watching this gave me a glimpse of somewhat the actual real thing . But it doesnt change my mind on wanting to be one , i just need to work more on my physical fitness . Any tips ?
@@faithmauga3675 I'm in the middle of Fire academy right now. I went in with no previous experience in Fire or EMS and I will say right off the bat that it will be a lot easier if you try to get some experience first. Either as a volunteer FF or by getting your EMT card. It also can't hurt to buy some books and start reading in preparation. Academy is a very academic intensive environment and you're going to be hit with A LOT of information very quickly. If you go in having even just a little experience it will make it easier to adapt because you will have seen some of it before. If you're out of shape then you definitely need to work on that before applying. You're going to be tired as Hell just from doing the skills training, plus lack of sleep, and then adding daily PT on top of it. But most importantly, have a good attitude. Take responsibility if you fuck up, because instructors hate hearing recruits making excuses. Accept that you're going to get yelled at even if you technically didn't do anything wrong (this is especially true in the earliest stages of academy). If you get in you're going to be working with a lot of different characters, personality types, and people from different backgrounds. Just don't be "that guy" who pisses everyone off. I'm still in academy, so I'm not a full fledged firefighter yet, but if you have any other questions specific to the academy or anything then I'd be glad to answer them.
When that firefighter was talking about getting to the school shooting and having parents scream for their child and he started tearing up, wow, it must be so hard to keep it together in those situations 😭
It is the worst, when working bad cases you try to dissociate the humanity from the biological organism. The mothers scream binds the humanity to the organism and can be/is very painful. Having worked hundreds of deaths, the ones that haunt me the most are the ones we with screaming mothers. B Schroedel Ret. Battalion chief/Paramedic
I’m must be crazy. Because I don’t understand why she was crying. I can understand crying in the money of something like that actually happening. But why cry of your just talking about it?
@@twb8612 She was feeding off his emotion, ever see a grown man cry or try to hold back tears while talking about dead children and their grieving mothers.
The STEM shooting didn't have as many causalities as expected specifically because of those that responded to the scene. My little brother texted my dad at the time the first bullet was shot, and my dad was there in 5 minutes. He said by the time he got there, there were already cops and firefighters at the scene and in the school. They saved my little brother along with so many others in that school.
The fact that the guy who makes the helmet shields, went out of his way and made one SPECIFICALLY for her. Has to be the most amazing thing and she will cherish that forever
watching michelle be so torn about not being able to save the victim at the end, not being able to breathe, everything being so heavy, so hot, so tiring, and so mentally taxing; it brought me to tears. her question, "why do you do this?" and the answer "we're helping people", hearing that was so emotional for me, as i'm sure it was for her too. she killed this. and giving the public insight to everything that goes on behind the scenes, it's invaluable.
I like watch me hen Michelle does more of the trades or jobs that people aren’t thinking of . Like fire, swat, police, army, secret service, trash collection, rather than the fighting and such. Because you find wholesome moments like you describe and the way the challenges are filmed and the questions she’s asking. And she’s getting millions of views per video.
Not gonna lie she is kinda like the real life Barbie. But what makes her even better is that she has flaws. She inspires me so much. I want to be like you when I grow up Michelle Khare.
That last part had me good. We always took firefighters for granted but what they do for us is unbelievable. Thanks first responders and thanks Michelle for giving us the insights of these professionals
I've always said the three careers that I'll always have immense respect for are (of no particular order) firefighter, EMT and garbage/sewer cleaner one trained themselves to go against their survival instinct just so they'd willingly brace fire that can reaches up to a thousand degrees to save people one trained to save and preserve people while also having the burden of transportation, time and distance from any care facility, making due with whatever they have on hand one that do the dirty and often thankless jobs that no one else would so our living space wouldn't be filled with filth
Why is no one acknowledging the fact that this badass woman singlehandedly has completed a crap ton of insane challenges all while making these amazing videos for FREE and still doesn’t have at LEAST 10 million subscribers?!
Kaitlyn S I meant it’s free for us to see lmao plus why does that matter? I’m referring to the fact that the UA-cam algorithm supports videos of slime more than videos like Michelle’s which have much more time and effort built into them. Ps i do watch Graham Stephen
She is making money from them. And also this wouldn’t be worth paying money to watch her constantly ask the same cliche questions. “It was so real” “Why do you do this?” “This is no joke”.
My father was a firefighter for 35 years and I'm a arson fire surviver. I grew up surrounded by these awesome men . I wouldn't be here of it wasn't for them. All my love and respect
Dev King Hardship is hardship. It’s a matter of understanding and empathy, he knew what he signed up for and what he got into. Advance your interpersonal skills and dig deep for understanding, maybe you’ll find it.
@Dev King he wasn't complaining, he was just acknowledging that he was grateful that someone else was able to see and appreciate the harsh reality of what these responders do on a daily basis. Thank you for your input, but i didn't ask for it. :)
The modern fire service is very different from the days of old. Gone are the days of the fire suppression only model. The modern fire service has evolved into an all risk mitigation agency. The modern fire service contains a risk until mitigation or until it can be safely passed to another agency for resolution. Most of the work is done with very little public knowledge or fanfare. Modern firefighters are well educated, well trained and very compassionate. They do not talk, they do. B. Schroedel Ret. Battalion Chief/paramedics
My biological father was a firefighter who passed away in 2016 while on duty, and it makes me so happy knowing that Michelle will never stop advocating for firefighters and paramedics around the world. This job means so much to millions of people and the whole world is some how affected by it.
She could shadow, but not participate. You have to be a student or licensed practitioner to help with patient care. She could practice some skills in an educational setting, but it wouldn't make for a fun video. She should definitely work on her chest compression technique though. ;)
When she said, “But I didn’t save him..” hit me pretty hard. It shows how deep she got into the role of the firefighter. Even though it was a mock fire, you can see the heart she put into doing her best to be a firefighter in that moment. I love you, Michelle Khare, for doing the things and challenges we ordinary people choose to not do.
It was a mistake on the trainers part, they should have given her the save. First responders become callus to death, death is the reality they face daily. She has not built up a immunity to death. The training mirrors reality and can trick your senses, she was physically and emotionally vested into saving the person. A save would have released her vested interest and allowed her to progress. I am afraid she may carry this subconsciously to the negative. They need to call her back for a save. Hopefully they debriefed her with a licensed professional. B. Schroedel Ret. Battalion Chief
I went a 10 day training as a fire responder and that word is the most heartbreaking you could actually hear, especially when we have a mock where the person is unconscious and we have to get him or her out and our instructors said 'that person you may be carrying is dead' shock is an understatement...
@@byronschroedel432 Absolutely *not* a mistake to have her lose the patient. That will happen on the field. No amount of training will prevent it. Its important that Michelle and by extension her audience saw that happen because its reality of every first responder. -edit: But obviously I don't need to tell you that (note to self: read full comment before replying)
Aria Galvez some of us don’t even do it for money. We do it because we think our communities and society is worth saving. It’s almost our calling. It’s in our blood. We love helping people and we love the adrenaline rush as well. Not ever about the money. In my department, nobody is paid for being a member there. We all know the struggles. Those of us who have stuck to it know it’s our destiny. We also depend on the community as well. We have all sorts of fundraisers during the year. We just had our pancake breakfast 2 weeks ago. We have a fair as well. Our head chief is a retired firefighter from Ithaca NY. He had prostate cancer and beat it. If we die in the line of duty, we know we did it in an effort to save lives. We put others before ourselves. There’s a unique calling we all know and that’s what drives us to help people.
When he said “we had our operations chief step down because of cancer” at 33:10 that was depressing because I realize that this was filmed before the death of Chief Jackson. RIP
He was my godfather and a great man. None of us were ready to lose him but he lived life fully and happily saw his son married and daughter graduate into the police academy before he passed. Never imagined the impact he had on so many people and it's been heartwarming to know how much he meant to Colorado
In Nova Scotia, Canada our rural area communities (which is the majority of the province) are protected by all VOLUNTEER firefighters! Each member is required to take the adequate training on their own time, without payment. My husband has been a firefighter & medical first responder for over 20 years!!! He is dedicated to helping his community, my hero!! ❤️
Firefighters are such underrated. At least in my country, they don't even receive a good salary or they work voluntarily. We should appreciate these people more, they risk their lives for us.
Thank you Sofia! I'm a Volunteer Firefighter in germany. And some people think we are Just drinking Beer. Thank you for appreciating our Work we do in our freetime!

I am the mother of a firefighter . I was almost finished watching this and I heard the sirens coming.....3 fire trucks speeding by my house. One of them blew the horn as it passed by, my sons way of saying hi mom ❤️. I felt my eyes tear up and I whispered be careful son. Until your video I had no idea of the amount of training they go through because they don’t always share . They don’t share with their families what they see , how bad they hurt etc. I have always been proud of him , he is one in a team of firefighters that put it on the line everyday......❤️
My mom was actually an emt and there was one point she went to a call for ems rescue and a baby had been playing with a bouncy ball and she did everything she could to save her (The baby) but the parents were so panicked that in the rescue truck the dad kept sticking his hands in the mouth of the baby and unfortunately the ball was too far down into the throat that the baby couldn't be saved and the day after the incident I heard from my teacher that the babies sister was in my grade and in my class that the baby head to be let go there was nothing my mom could do to save the baby and my mom felt terribly sorry for the family of the baby she also saved my sister from many allergic reaction where my sister could easily have died I thank her so much everyday for everything she does even the smallest things
My dad was a firefighter during the Australian fires during 2019 and it was horrifying experience. It's hard to grasp how truly brave these heroes are. ❤
The emotional weight of this job is astonishing. They are such incredible hard working people. Thank you so much for this video and sharing how much our firefighters sacrifice in emotional and physical comfort for their peers and community. I live in California I’m so glad we have such a great group of firefighters across the world keeping people safe.
The saddest part is that they do an extremely hard job but still don’t get payed as much as they should and don’t get the attention they deserve, if they have a family there spouse is still gonna have to work on top of there life'srisking job
I work EMS in a volunteer fire department right now. I'm too young to start fire 1 training yet but I literally can't wait. Fire fighting, EMS, and rescue operations is so fun and it's such a tight community to be a part of, it's almost like you're family. This video was so great to see, it gets the excitement and adrenaline up so high, I love it. The fire station you got to work in was actually really nice too, the ladder truck was super cool, they call those quints because it also has the ability to pump as well as have a ladder on top. My company has been talking about getting a new quint in the near future, I can't wait for that. This was a great video, God bless all of our fire fighter brothers and sisters out there. WOOOOOOO.
gina astudillo I 100% agree!!!! Dude this opened my eyes like so hard. I had no idea that this is what firefighting looked like. I think a lot of people should see this. These people are like super humans lol. They do so sooooo much more than I ever thought. It was a really good eye opener.

no she got a 1 week crash course, firefighter academy is 16 weeks long, in every vid she does less than 1 week, it doesn't qualify her at all, but it still is pretty cool and the challenges arent easy.
Agreed Patriot. Also the academy teaches you just enough so you don't die in your first real fire. The real training starts after you graduate and you get to your first fire station.
michelle everytime you said “i cant do it” i stopped everything and yelled at the screen genuinely, like a lunatic, “YOU CAN MICHELLE, YOU CAN DO IT” this is one of the most impactful episodes yet. thank you.

I am a Greek, and we got wildfires every year. The firefighters are doing a great job handling the fires and saving the lives of countless people. Like in Rhodes and Corfu this year, they saved many people and evacuated parts of the islands and giving them a home to stay
I was crying like a baby the whole time. Just knowing there are people out there going through such hard training and risking their lives for someone they don't know... Idk, is too much to handle for me. They're truly heroes I can't even explain how proud I am for having people doing this. Thank you for showing us that. It really gives me hope for humanity.
Yossiree López thank you. We deserve so much more recognition then what we get. It’s not easy to do this job. Once you have tried this job it gives you a new respect for us. Thank you for your support.

Well sometimes you get a bad fire and you see a burned childs bedroom and it fucks you up, im only a junior firefighter but when i turn 17 and join as a member you have to understand the risks
Pvris Suicide I’m some areas it’s really lacking, suicide among firefighters is a huge problem. They need more resources and a willingness to accept help:
@@JJ-bi5qx Make sure you can work through it. Find help, clergy, family. Do not let it eat you alive. You are a special breed as a firefighter. Welcome to the family of firefighters. As someone who has gone through a house fire, I am very grateful that nobody was hurt and I’m thankful for the firefighters who managed to save our home which we moved out of but people are still living there.
It's been a while. And this is one of the most intense challenges ever. More importantly, I have tons of respect and gratitude for firefighters. After all the fires we've been having in the recent years including Australia and the state of California, millions are still alive and standing thanks to these heroes.
I love how respectful Michelle is to every challenge she takes on and the people who do them everyday, she's not annoying about it and she gives everything a genuine try.
My brother is in the fire academy right now. He always had a hard time in school with grades, his best grades were c’s and b’s. Then he went to fire academy and now he makes straight A’s.
I was the same way, as soon as I took the academy test and my EMT course I was getting straight A’s. Just goes to show that when you really care about something you’ll put the effort in
@muhsin_king depends on where you live, how long you've done it, and which fire station you work at. I have friends and family who are firefighters and they all have made a pretty nice living for themselves. At the end of the day the pay isn't the reason these guys and gals get into it, you have to be a very specific type of person to do what they do.
I did the job for 27 years. At 60 years old when I retired I injured myself in recruit class never said anything. I needed total joint replacement in a shoulder. Went thru my whole career with pain had the surgery after retirement. I was electrocuted 2 times in my career. Loved the job.

Been watching these challenges for a while now, and I admire how you give these people who we take for granted and just EXPECT to show up but never really SEE what they do on a daily basis, or even comprehend the mental and physical strain these people endure. Thank you for using your platform to give people an inside look. ❤
As a retired fire fighter this brought back some good old sweet memories. The lives no matter how hard we tried we couldn’t save. The joy of saving a life , when I decided that my 30 plus years as a firefighter saying farewell to the men and women I served with was bittersweet they became my other family. It’s a brotherhood like no other. Loved my career
I became a firefighter 3 years ago, at 24 I have already seen 5 of my coworkers die of cancer. This is a real scary aspect of the job and I hope we get better knowledge of how to prevent cancer in firefighters sometime before its my turn

Not only in Germany... here in Slovenia there are around 152.000 volunteer and around 1300 professional firefighters...Most of the professionals are voulnteers in their home environment too.
i think most firefighters in europe are 'volunteers', or as you could better describe it part time firefighters. same qualifactions as 'profesional' full time firefighters.
Wow.. I was crying. I can't even imagine how intense that would be. To everyone who does this: you are so incredibly strong. This job is obviously a lot more than putting water on a fire.
I thought being a level 1 gymnast was being sore, as I started as level 1 a few weeks ago. I started crying when I compared her stunts to my level 1 stunts.
man when she cries after hearing stories or even after the actual drill, its like shes picturing herself in those situations and really connecting with it. i feel like most people would just be like "I'm sorry to hear that" and continue. but she really processes it and puts things into perspective. Michelle, you are a strong woman.
Yea but for these jobs you shouldn’t really do that. It’s more about acting on training and not on empathy or emotion. It’s a good trait in people with normal jobs but not for these jobs
Roo32 you just have to be able to control it. It’s okay to react how she does from stories, and it’s a good thing. But you can’t do the job if it affects you during the job. Some people can be very empathetic while also turning it off and focusing on the job in the right circumstances. That said, a very empathetic person might have more difficulty with emotional and mental consequences from a job like this, but that is just my speculation
@@ryanweinstock7977 brother if you've got no emotion doing this job its time to take a look at your mental health because once you stop having bedside manner your no good to us in the back of the rig regardless of if it's the ambulance or the engine/truck, yes don't have a emotional breakdown on scene but if you're snappy with patients or family members you have to be professional and polite
It's even more sad when you realize that firefighters are risking their own life to save others, but they don't get payed nearly enough for their services.
Victoria Grass many are volunteers. They do the training school and all calls for free. On their own time. Many work full time jobs, go to college, and still find time to help others.
I just so happen to have stumbled upon this video and decided to give it a watch... Hearing Captain Crews recount the Twisp fire brought back some memories. I have been a Volly for almost 9 years and I remember hearing about that burnover the same day and getting the details of those young men that were lost and the one survivor that was critically burned. Its tough.

This seriously opened up my eyes to what a firefighter actually does. I'm like speechless over what they go through and all they may have to encounter on the job. Huge respect to you Michelle and all the firefighters out there.
If I could like this video twice, I would. I cried at the end, and I really just want to say kudos for really highlighting what it is these men and women do in such an inspirational and respectful manner.
When she puts a heart on a comment, you know it means something. She actually hearted a comment saying she should do a firefighter one, and it happened so 🤷🏽♀️
Well I mean being an EMT is basically the next step. The EMTs tend to work hand in hand with the fire crew. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she went from this the EMT.
All of my uncles on my dad’s side have been emts and firefighters and two of them got called into service to 9/11 when it happened…one of them ended up with cancer just a few years ago and this video just makes me appreciate all that they have done over the years … thank you firefighters and ems for all you do!
Storytime from someone you don't know: Me. When I was around 3 years old, my grandparents bought a children's playset for my cousins and I. A year or so later, I stood up on the slide, lost my balance, and fell backward. My neck broke my fall. My grandparents and dad were freaking out, calling 911, telling me to stay still for fear that I could cause more damage if I moved. No one knew what happened when I fell. Spoiler alert: nothing serious came of it, and I count myself lucky every day for that, amongst many other things. Anyway, the first people to arrive were firefighters. They managed to keep my grandparents and dad calm in their moment of terror, and they also kept *me* calm. There was one firefighter in particular, a man who was easily 20 years older than my dad at that point, who knelt beside me and talked to me like I was his daughter. I can't remember what they did or how they took care of me. My dad tells me that I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but I can't even remember that. All I can remember from that day was falling and that firefighter who made me feel safe when no one else could. After that incident, my life moved on, but I had a new dream: I wanted to be a firefighter. Firetrucks became a beacon of hope in my life because it was suddenly the steed that my hero rode in on to rescue me when I fell. I saw firefighters as heroes who changed into their "costumes" in firehouses instead of phone booths. On fire safety day in elementary school, I woke up excited and begged to go to school, even if I wasn't feeling well. As I grew up, I lost touch with my dream of becoming a firefighter. I still admired them, but I deemed myself too cowardly in the face of danger. Every "what if?" turned into a certainty in my mind, even though I had overcome many of my fears throughout my life. I let my fears and insecurities dictate my future, but I found another path that lined up with my desire to help and give back. Today, while watching this, I'm brought back to that childhood dream of becoming a firefighter, of helping people, of earning the kindness that was shown to me after I fell. There are days when I still ask myself: is this a life my firefighter would be proud of? Maybe it sounds ridiculous, and maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, but he felt like my guardian angel that day. I'm so happy this video was made because I felt my inner-child burst to life once more, and she still wants to be a firefighter. I have such a deep appreciation for firefighters, especially, and this video can educate people that firefighters are so much more than heroes who fight fires. I thank them all for their selflessness and service to their communities, and that gratefulness extends to every firefighter and first responder.
Jessi D. Never be afraid to go for your dreams. When there’s fear in you and your in a burning building, run right towards it. That’s what we have to do. It sucks when we have to pull out dead bodies but sadly we have to. I have a story in particular. This wasn’t a call I was on, but it was a call my department ran. September 3rd 2016. Main Street Homer NY. 3 story building with an elderly man on the 2nd floor. The owners were making meth on the first floor and it blew up and killed the elderly man. It was so powerful it shattered the windows of the bank. A ton of firefighters took the call. Took 5 departments including mine to put it out and it took 4 ladder trucks to put it out. Once we had it out we had to use our ladder to pull the body of the elderly man out. It was a big fire. Struck 2 alarms and that’s all we needed to knock it out. Shut down that portion of road for a week after that to clean it up. ua-cam.com/video/LjX7lIbWQdY/v-deo.html that has the particular fire I was talking about in it.
This is so nice and now I feel happy after reading it. I wish I had some sort of spark to become something so great. I’m happy your inner child burst to the surface while watching this video, that’s really touching.
@@milsywag848 this must have happened anywhere between '99 and '01. I'm giving myself a time frame because I'm almost positive I was 4 at the time, but I could be wrong.
@@hiffahyphae6707 awww, thank you! I think everyone feels a few sparks in their life. I felt one when I was little to be a firefighter. When I was 10, I wanted to be a writer, and when I was 16, I felt the spark to become a teacher; I've been pursuing that since, even though some of schooling has come at a slow and steady pace. We all have our own calling, and as long as that calling makes you happy and feel fulfilled-and doesn't hurt anyone-then it's the right one for you. I don't think everyone needs to feel it early in their life-maybe they find it at 10, maybe they find it much further down the line. Everyone's inner child is still within them, you just have to listen closely because the world can be loud. Thanks for making it through that rant :)

I was full water works at that point. It is so painful just thinking about it. Can’t even imagine what the people experiencing it go through! 😢😢

When she said, “But I didn’t save him..” hit me pretty hard. It shows how deep she got into the role of the firefighter.

Kirstyn Isaac I began to tear up, girl! 🤧😭😭

RIP

The joy of saving a life , when I decided that my 30 plus years as a firefighter saying farewell to the men and women I served with was bittersweet they became my other family. It’s a brotherhood like no other. Loved my career
Let’s start a petition for her to get her own Netflix series
Yaassss
Great idea!
Yes!!
I agree!!!
she's to good for netflix
It's crazy to think she didn't win creator of the year. She puts out such amazing content on the regular. One of my ultimate favorite channels!!
I became a firefighter 3 years ago, at 24 I have already seen 5 of my coworkers die of cancer. This is a real scary aspect of the job and I hope we get better knowledge of how to prevent cancer in firefighters sometime before its my turn
Let me go ahead and correct that to 6 already.
@@NotAFirefighter1 I'm very sorry to hear that. I'm currently in the hiring process for my first job on a department. I've heard so many stories of firefighters getting cancer. Studies are showing better ways to help avoid cancer, but our chances are still way up
How old were they? Thats scary
@@therealfinnaspring8585 most recent was 32
@@NotAFirefighter1 thats so young!! Were they a firefighter from like 18 at least?
Im currently a volunteer firefighter looking to join a paid department in the next couple of years, I love being a volunteer its awesome helping the community and its also nice to see people going through the training and situations that we train for
nobodys talking about how one guys name is Jon Adams and another Tom Crews
I honestly loved that
I was trying to look for this comment 😂
Alexa Maschke Oh we talked about it A LOT in the editing room haha

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!!!LOL!! TOM CREWS TOM CREWS TOM CREWS!! There you go!!! I feel so much better now.
July 3, 2019 my cousin passed away in a house fire and 6 people were hospitalized including 2 firefighters. The firefighters were saving one of my cousins in the basement and there was a flashover (The fire spread rapidly and everything was lit on fire at once) and the basement collapsed. I thank those fighters for risking their lives to save my cousin’s and I hope everyday that they live healthy lives. RIP Christian 2001-2019
Edit: Christian is a girl, but I still thank you all for your condolences
I’m sorry for your loss. R.I.P
So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing this, may you be blessed. May you be watched over by your cousin with love. Rest In Peace.
😥
May god bless his soul and he may Rest In Peace! ❤️
Majestic_Mermaid919 RIP Christian I’m so sorry for your loss
Michelle: Goes inside a burning place
Me: Can't even kill a spider
@Naimaa s i would rather go in a burning building then approach a spider
1,000th like on this comment omg!
Why kill the spider, I like spiders when they’re at their own distance they eat other insects. They’re just great
Ikr XD
Why would you say "Michelle: Goes inside burning place" when she did it once with a whole crew of real EMS and fire personal ready to save her when real firefighters do it everyday in unpredictable conditions
I am appreciate your commitment to training to be firefighter and understanding the how important to save the property and life . I have admire the emergency service that help many people.
Seeing how hard this job is , i think it's crazy that 97% of German firefighters are volunteers.
History proves that the German people have nothing but courage running in their blood.
@@anonops1980 what history books did u read ?
Ewka ewka it really doesn’t matter if the firefighters are German. They put their lives at risk for the people. Hats off to firefighters 👏🏼
Right!
I thought being a level 1 gymnast was being sore, as I started as level 1 a few weeks ago.
I started crying when I compared her stunts to my level 1 stunts.
I just got done with fire academy: It’s no joke. She did really well. Keep it up lady!
That's amazing!! Congrats!!
Yeah congrats u are 1 in a million GO BE GREAT 😁🙌
George Ure II congrats on finishing academy. I’ll be doing the academy in August!
She did so hard and she succeeded like she is showing you can do anything if you believe you can do it
man when she cries after hearing stories or even after the actual drill, its like shes picturing herself in those situations and really connecting with it. i feel like most people would just be like "I'm sorry to hear that" and continue. but she really processes it and puts things into perspective. Michelle, you are a strong woman.
Yea but for these jobs you shouldn’t really do that. It’s more about acting on training and not on empathy or emotion. It’s a good trait in people with normal jobs but not for these jobs
Jacobi Leoo cringe
@@nic5250 oh you poor child... im sorry your mother didnt love you :(
Roo32 you just have to be able to control it.
Oh in my country they dont even get a salary which is worst
80% of firefighters are volunteers.
Victoria Grass many are volunteers. They do the training school and all calls for free. On their own time. Many work full time jobs, go to college, and still find time to help others.
@@GallantlyEverAfter I know. It's still really sad. But even the ones who do get payed earn very little money a year to support their families.
“All I could hear was the moms screaming for their kids.” Omg that hit me so hard. 😭
You could see him struggling not to totally tear up. That hit him hard too. That was hard to watch.
have you had past experiences?
not going to lie I had to pause the video just to compose myself after that bit, I was bawliing my eyes out.
He apologized about it, HE APOLOGIZED, like it was HIS fault! That just hit me real hard with how effected he’d was...
Same it broke my heart 💔 i literally almost started to cry
I just so happen to have stumbled upon this video and decided to give it a watch... Hearing Captain Crews recount the Twisp fire brought back some memories. I have been a Volly for almost 9 years and I remember hearing about that burnover the same day and getting the details of those young men that were lost and the one survivor that was critically burned. Its tough.
I’m a firefighter with a big anxiety problem. I knew it was what I was meant to do when I went into a burning building for the first time and a wave washed over me, i was as calm as if I was falling asleep. It’s an experience like no other.
your soul knew where it was meant to be. thank you hero for saving lives ❤️
Thanks mate! I’ve got anxiety too and I’m hoping to become a firefighter in the future too!
I also have anxiety. I experienced the same thing you did during my first fire as a firefighter. No fear, you just go. It’s truly amazing.
I've got anxiety too but also a dream to be a firefighter and this just gave me so much hope
when my car went on fire i had the same experience Respect for you..........
This seriously opened up my eyes to what a firefighter actually does. I'm like speechless over what they go through and all they may have to encounter on the job. Huge respect to you Michelle and all the firefighters out there.
Don’t worry guys I paused it so that she can have a break

If I could like this video twice, I would. I cried at the end, and I really just want to say kudos for really highlighting what it is these men and women do in such an inspirational and respectful manner.
I got stressed just watching this. I can't imagine this as a career. Major respect to everyone who does this every day.
God, firefighters are ungodly brave. To any firefighters reading this: you’re a badass.
Ok Michelle I think it would be cool for you to train for a emt. You did police and firefighter now emt would be the next thing.
🙂
When she puts a heart on a comment, you know it means something. She actually hearted a comment saying she should do a firefighter one, and it happened so 🤷🏽♀️
Well I mean being an EMT is basically the next step. The EMTs tend to work hand in hand with the fire crew. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she went from this the EMT.
EMTs & Paramedics work with the fire crew and train with them so it wouldn’t be much different
Jenny Cisneros it wouldn’t be extremely different but it would have some differences.
When
@@milsywag848 this must have happened anywhere between '99 and '01.
She’s practically Barbie she has done like every job

Seriously how is this not #1 on trending??? She’s so brave and of course gives us insight on what firefighters have to go through physically and emotionally they are real life super heroes . Thank you
