Great video. I built my first computer right before the SATA standard so this brings me back. I am getting into early 2000s computers again for nostalgia so this is good to know. Seems my devices mostly support Ultra ATA.
The IVDR 1000 secure storage typically connects externally via a USB interface or through a proprietary docking station. Some models may require a SATA to USB adapter if they use an internal SATA interface. Check the device’s documentation or ports to confirm the exact connector type and use compatible accessories for secure and optimal performance.
So you essentially have 48 pins, however one is missing for keying. On one side four pins are for jumpers, so there should be a small space between those pins and the other pins. On the other side the four extra pins are power pins. Thus you need to get a laptop to motherboard cable with power. i.ebayimg.com/images/g/Tm8AAOSwda1au3TT/s-l1600.jpg

I heard that they got rid of the terms master/slave to distance it from pre Civil War era. Of course since it pretty obsolete, that move is kind of meaningless.
Who knows that reason. In the old day the master and slave drive were not independent. Thus, it was important which storage you use as a master drive. But when that all changed maybe that is the reason they decided to call it drive 0 and drive 1.

Still dumb nonetheless.
