I have had that camera for many years, and the picture quality is very good. One thing that amazed me with this one was that the color was very spot on. When I would put it through the editor, it barley changed the colors on it, if at all. And like you said, fort he average size most people print shots at, five megapixels is plenty.
RAW is soooo slow. Noise even at 64 ISO. Unsharp pictures at wide angle. Short battery life. Poor video quality. It was good 15 years ago. But not now. Progress is relentless!
