What ordinary fans see is the USA winning by only points now and saying the new USA teams aren't that great anymore, but what they fail to realize is that the competition has gone stronger. So much stronger now. It actually started long time ago that the competition has caught up with the USA. Do you remember in 2000 Sydney Olympics that USA only beat Lithuania by 2 points? and in 2004 they settled for the Bronze? And now the best players in the NBA are all international players. It means that the talent in other parts of the world has developed considerably. They roster in those other countries may not be all NBA players, but certainly they can all play in the NBA if given a chance. The level of competition is so much different now. The times when the NBA can just put on a show while assuring a Gold is long gone. They can no longer just send role players now. They have to send the best of the best if they wanna win.
The only international player in the NBA that can be called the best in his position is Embiid. Also Luka and Joker def arent the best in the NBA which was just proven this last season so idk wtf you or the person who made this video are talkn about at all lmmfao. Don't get me wrong those guys are great but the best is a far stretch from the truth. Winning 1 championship makes you the best for that season and thats only if your the one leading the team but dont make you the best in the league. Leading your team to the finals then getting gentlemans swept doesnt' make you the best. Even playing 20 yrs doesn't make you the best. In this day and age people don't have standards of greatness at all. Lemme give you a couple of examples of what greatness is and isnt to explain what I mean when I say people don't have standards of greatness and will just put that label on anyone just cuh they a fan of that person. Lebron James for instance is considered by a few to be a GOAT with no standards to back up this claim. He has only 1 scoring title which means he has only been the best scorer in the league once in 20yrs He gets praise for going to 10 finals while losing 6 of those and only winning 4. Hes never won a dpoy which means hes not good on defense. Lebron is ranked #1 for turnovers and #2 has 1000 less than he does of all time Now dont get me wrong he does have great stats in some areas but those are the ones that are there because of how long he has been playing which if he didnt play as long as he has he wouldn't have period. People literally have this man as their GOAT which is strange because there are quite a few players that have done twice as much as him in half the time. But these people will never be convinced that he isn't the best player in the history of basketball. Shoot he lost 3 of those finals games to a team lead by Stephen Curry but people rarely ever put GOAT and Stephen Curry in the same sentence unless they are calling him the GOAT of shooting. See how people with no standards of greatness call LBJ the GOAT and he lost 3xs to Stephen Curry but will never call Stephen Curry a GOAT even though Steph is the GOAT of shooting has been on 6 title runs only lost twice has 2 MVPS to LBJs 4 MVPs but Steph has the only UNANIMOUS MVP IN HISTORY. My point is they hold Stephen Curry to a standard of greatness but don't do the same when it comes to Lebron.
Right, and outside of the Dream Team 92' and '96, and the '16 team, none of the Gold Medal games were decided by more than 11 points. The US has to send their best players, or it could be a long Olympics. These international teams have always been competitive for the most part.
My favorite player of all time is LBJ. Steph has broken my heart time and time again, but I knew he was legit. Thank god, they were on the same team this time. I am so thankful, I didn't miss a minute of USA BBALL. I'll remember those three teaming up for the rest of my life.
Agree with everything you said. I just want to point out that the arrogance in fan bases is not the same. The Warriors SUCKED for years, so they deserve to bask in their newfound glory so to speak. Meanwhile the arrogance of Lakers, Cowboys and Knicks fans is annoying because they’re going off of past successes 😂
For this UA-camr to claim that most Warriors fans didn’t start watching until 2014 is 100% ignorance. You have to realize that the format of the Olympics and the nature of basketball itself have made parity among nations more likely. NBA playoffs have always been played in series, now best of seven throughout. That means the “better” teams will almost always win, because they can lose up to three games yet still emerge the winner. With good coaching and execution, superior talent will win out most of the time, but there’s always the chance that one player will get hot and lead the lesser team to one or two wins in a series. So one player really can make a huge difference in that situation., France had Wemby, who looked unstoppable at times. Serbia of course had Jokic, great shooter, great passer, a total behemoth. With players like that, all you need is for one or two other players to play above average and have everyone else play average on offense and maybe put extra effort on defense and they might get the upset win. If they were to play a series, the U.S. would probably beat everybody in five, maybe six games tops. This is, in a sense, not true parity. Foreign leagues, top to bottom, aren’t as good as the NBA, which of course is mostly American. But basketball is a game of runs. One team, one player gets hot, and you’ve got an upset. NBA players know this better than anyone, and that’s why the ability to respond to that pressure is so important. And Steph has shown time and again that he’s clutch. This game, played in the host country for the gold medal, was as pressure packed as any Game 7 in history. And to bury 4 threes in the last 3 minutes? AMAZING. Glad to see so many people appreciate his greatness who didn’t see it before. It’s been really fun watching it the last dozen years.
Some fans are toxic and delusional. This exists in every fan base, regardless of the sport. Also, Steph fans and Warriors fans are not always the same people.

@@And.One.Hoops1 “most of which started watching basketball around 2014.” I’ll admit saying you lied was inaccurate on my part though. After seeing your video, I think you said that out of annoyance for the Warriors fanbase, who likely shoved their fandom down your throat. Rest of the video was good, but starting off by insulting an entire fanbase that the star of this video plays for was not a good way to start. No malice here at all, just want to give feedback.
Stop. The 92 dream team would've destroyed any team in the olympics this year. Players pike Ewing and Robinson wouldve dominated jokic and wemby mak8ng them irrelevant.
I'm not seeing it either. Besides Bird, Magic, and Laettner, the team was clamps on defense. There was no let up on pressure. Who on this 2024 team is dealing with Barkley?
Very unsportsmanlike of Curry to make that gesture, a professional basketball player like him who plays in another country at the Olympics disrespects his opponent, the audience and the Olympics. For the rest of the world he is done for, childish behavior simply
It’s his signature since 2022 that’s taken a life of its own in many different sports all around the world. If you take that as disrespect, you’re too easy to be offended.

Who told u they wont be in 2028!
Considering they’ll be in their 40’s, I told myself
0:18 already starting off with a lie… not a good way to start. We’ll see how the rest of the video goes
Where is the lie?
@@And.One.Hoops1 “most of which started watching basketball around 2014.” I’ll admit saying you lied was inaccurate on my part though. After seeing your video, I think you said that out of annoyance for the Warriors fanbase, who likely shoved their fandom down your throat.
Rest of the video was good, but starting off by insulting an entire fanbase that the star of this video plays for was not a good way to start. No malice here at all, just want to give feedback.
Yeah that’s fair, I could have started it off with a little more context
Get a life!
It’s his signature since 2022 that’s taken a life of its own in many different sports all around the world. If you take that as disrespect, you’re too easy to be offended.
Wonder if he had any problems with LeBron doing the shoulder thing and crowning himself the whole Olympics?
I didn’t like Steph “He’s Hype” 🌽🌽 BALL !!!!! Complete 🤡
