I did like how they actually gave this dude the power to basically swim through the sand via air. There are videos that show this, but simply put, if you put in an air hose or other such thing into a bunch of sand, you can see that it fills in the space in between, and the sand ends up acting more like a liquid where objects can sink right in without issue. It's really cool how they take concepts such as this and turn them into Monsters.
This monster has instantly become one of mu favorite elder dragons. Don’t understand the xeno comparisons, it has such a unique design, and the music is incredible too
they just use the same skeleton which makes my theory have some sense if xeno really is the saphire star, this one might be the dragon who formed earth? he has complete control of the earth after all
Leone Could be a good theory. Also tbh even if they did use the same skeleton, still a different fight. Gog and shagaru/gore use the same skeleton but i never saw anyone compare those fights for some reason.
@noire__lov3r He give a very lifeless/dead feeling. The staring eyes, slow movement and no movement when he is on ground only small twitches on his hand wings reinforce this
@@hypotrain Nah bro, Ruiner Nergigante is retarded powerful. Regular Nergigante was already stronger than your standard ED (think Kushala, Teo, etc), but Ruiner is a different beast entirely. Considering that Shara could fuck up entire areas with it's powers over the earth, the fact that Ruiner Nerg killed him is pretty insane. Obviously, Ruiner isn't Fatalis level almost nothing has an argument for that, but he's still a very powerful Elder Dragon, whose only real weakness might be kinda small size relative to some other extremely powerful EDs.
I'll never forget my first time on this monster. I won't lie, i felt a small sense of horror, disbelief as those tentacles emerged. As the rocks fell around me all i could wonder was, "what am I facing?" Then the roar came. A dramatic entrance for the being beneath the rock. Only leaving me with 1 question before the fight. "What the hell is that thing?"
my first time was get knocked out until my Moxie activated, and im out of heal items, no farcast either, and somehow my teamates finish the job, i'll never forget it

@@draw2death421 Without tremor resistance those sand pools can be a bitch to move through and dodge attacks in. Death generally comes from a stun and then a super beam.
In my opinion Shara Ishvalda is underrated! Everyone says Nergi or Rajang are stronger, but Shara definetly became my favorite monster. That godish creepy alien-like style is something we never had in any MH.
Also the fact that nergi killed it because it almost died and it's armour removed, now imagine Shara Ishvalda in it's armor vs Nergi of course chances of shara ishvalda winning is getting higher eck
How is Nergi even remotely stronger than Shara? I mean the only thing Nergi could do was swoop in and get the last hit on Shara after it has already been beaten by the hunters
Soloed this fcker first try at 49'38" . The numbers aren't impressive, I know, but GODDAMN was I so relieved after hearing that "quest complete" chime. No other monster has made me feel that way, not even Behemoth.
This is hands down my favorite ED now, not really because of his fight, but the sheer fact this is the only monster to break the fourth wall. He doesn't look at your character once, he knows what he's truly up against... *you.* He knows *you* are here to end him, not your hunter. He knows *you* are the one who manipulates your hunter, just as he manipulates the earth beneath your character's feet. Good job Capcom, good fucking job.
The only monster in the game that I couldn't solo first try. The amount of the stage he covers in sand in the last phase is just brutal. Also of note, this is probably the only monster in the game that actually looks like a 'monster'. Everything else is basically just a bunch of really cool animals, but this thing genuinely looks like something from a nightmare.
Haha whenever i launch him he steps a few feet turns around and finger lases me. I only managed to hit him off the wall twice. It always looked in range cause of his size.
Anyone notice that everytime shara does his big air bomb attack he stretches out his wings behind him as if they are multiple arms(which is kinda how they function). It reminds me so much of hindu art with the multiple arms it is so good
Roxas χIII That’s Shara’s signature roar. Like you said, it’s supposed to mimic the multi-armed gods of Hinduism, and that’s just the icing on the cake.
Probably one of the most unsettling monsters I've ever seen in Monster Hunter. Every time it's eyes were on screen, I would always lock eyes with it. Wasn't until people started pointing it out that I realized it's always staring at the camera. Really cool design, awesome music, and even though it's just rock and sand, the arena still manages to be cool to me. I love how it slowly falls apart, and then phase two breaks it all down revealing the sun rise. Overall, it's all just great.
@Ultra Uzarai shara ishvalda is designed to be sort of an Hindu god; the looks, the music, the godly ost and arena, shara ishvalda has a barely visible third eye, symbol of higher power in hinduism, and its wings are stretched like arms, like the multi armed deities in Hinduism
This thing very much feels like a monster from Frontier. The design, the theme, and even the sheer magnitude of it's attacks (goddamn sound spirit bomb). I love it.
@@AxisChurchDevotee yep, i really hope so. There so many insane mechanics and monsters in Frontier that i really whished to see, like the Zenith species, Tonfas weapon, etc
i remember my mom always asks me how i dont have nightmares with the creatures of monster hunter, i always laughed at that since i never had one, until i meet shara ishvalda
My favorite fight in the game. Number 1 reason is for the music. I like what they did with it as to how phase 1 music starts out (for lack of better words) slow and intimidating as you have no idea what you're fighting. And the moment all those rocks fall apart and reveal what's underneath, they kick the music into overdrive as it changes into something fast with a powerful beat.
Capcom did a really good job making a parasite elder dragon. Even the details on Shara's body remind me of a tree parasite. Awesome how the lore plays into the design, as Shara is basically a parasite in the everstream.
This music especially the beginning conveys so many feelings and they somehow all perfectly fit the atmosphere of fighting this perfectly designed final boss. Probably the best final boss battle in a game ive had in a while
This theme really reminds me of Frontier, and that's a good thing. Because despite whatever opinion you have against it, Frontier's got many really good monster themes and music in general
This thing starts of in a rock tomb, you think its a geomancer type elderdragon. Handler tells you that the song was caused by vibration of wing tips, you think it actually just has keen control over the frequency and pitch of its vibes to disrupt surroundings. it sheds and starts using moves straight outta Yu Yu Hakushou, Naruto and DBZ made by pressurized air blasts. It even stares directly at the player, not the hunter, straight into your soul. How is this not just the most out there and coolest mh monster!
I love his design waaaaay more than Safi, fatalis, and altareon. So unique and fucking creepy, also just the super anime transformation into its second phase, the moveset is awesome too! And if all of that wasn't enough it stares into your fucking soul! Oh its so damn badass, such an amazing ending.
while I didn't find this boss TOO DIFFICULT (still somewhat difficult) I still ADORED this guy on the simple fact that it's presentation was just so top fucking notch the way it's eyes follow the Camera, not your hunter was just so HAUNTING, those were were already unsettling as is but to have them look directly at you... yikes. they are like if somebody drew overly realistic eyes on a Smiley face, and dont get me started on how eerily human its teeth are. It's attacks just scream power and presence, from the super laser to what can only be called a "Spirit bomb", they make you feel like your up against this powerful being. And then theres the music. Listen to this shit, the part especially at 1:15 to 1:30 still gives me shivers. I love this boss for it's presentation in the second phase alone, it's great. Now if only Safi could have had such a feeling of uniqueness....
Anyone else get chills when they heard the peak of the song? I think this theme is absolutely beautiful and it really adds the right amount of suspense and drama to make you think, "Wow. This really is the final boss."

Oh my goodness, the atmosphere, the boss, this music....They fucking outdid themselves with this one. I haven't felt hyped like I did when I fought this monster since The first time I fought xenojiva.
I have a small personal theory that Xeno'jiiva and Shara Ishvalda either ARE or at least represent 2 of the 5 dragons in the Tale of Five from the game. Xeno'jiiva obviously would represent the fifth dragon who "climbed far into the sky to become a star of sapphire blue, shining brightly above the island" according to the story. Shara Ishvalda probably would represent the first dragon. "One dragon sank into the sea and became the land."
@@rijnbeek4031 Indeed, if Shara is any of those dragons it would have to be that one, since the line directly applies to Shara, seeing as it constantly fulfills the "lifting it's gaze to sky" part during the fight
Imagine if we had the option of followers in this game like we got for Sunbreak. Like the Huntsman shocked from how Shara looked outside of his armored shell, or the Admiral telling us the show isn't over yet, keep fighting to the end. Followers was such an amazing opportunity until Sunbreak came about.
Gore/Valstrax skeleton with Ahtal'Ka's exo-armor gimmick using Rukodiora's magnetic powers. I like how the wing digits evolved to be root-like as it encases itself in stone that it manipulates with sound and magnetism. Very cool theme.
One thing I really love about this theme is how it sounds like so much of it was ripped straight out of Shadow of the Colossus. Like it doesn’t sound like they copied it or anything, but it’s really easy to trick my brain into thinking that I should be fighting Quadratus or Basaran or one of the other colossi when I hear 0:19 - 0:27, or 0:37 - 0:55. The sharp, shallow violin and the swelling, but strained, brass sound straight from SotC, and I love how it emphasizes how much of a giant... well... colossus, Shara is. The theme evoking SotC so much just makes her feel so much more colossal and makes the fight feel much more serious and intense.
In Balinese mythology, maybe Shara Ishvalda is a king of Le'ak. Le'ak is a kind of evil spirit which often represented by monstrous appearance. A local mythical creature, like that.

This fight is soooo unsettling... those dead eyes, Shara's weird little spindly fingers, and the theme! It's fitting that such a terrifying monster is the only one I'm having trouble with in Iceborne. Can't wait to finally beat this freaky elder dragon!
It legit took me 4 tries, 2 with me and a friend, 2 with SOS
If you didnt notice, heres something you can watch for the next time you fight. Shara never looks at your hunter. It stares at the camera... You.
Yes, I did notice and I think that’s why it’s so creepy. It’s like it’s staring into your soul!
It took me probably around 6-7, just answering SOS flares or randoms joining my quest. On the plus side, I’m very good at knowing Shara’s patterns now, lol

And let's not forget that the thing actually grinds rocks to sand by just vibrating it's hands !
@@Kazuhira2249 I don't think the guy is that powerful. He isn't a black dragon and also got beaten by Ruiner Nergigante in the end

I hadn't made that connection, it's really cool noticing all the work the dev/design teams put into creating this beautiful thing.
I only hunt this thing for the music and the aesthetic, seeing the FUCKING MOUNTAINS in the background crumble every time it screams is amazing.
Going into the Shara fight with 0 knowledge was easily one of the best/scariest moments I've experienced in the monster hunter franchise.
Ngl Shara Ishvalda with this Hindu inspired music was bop as hell, cant stop vibing to it
Teacher: let's talk about hindu stuff
People who killed shara:
@Ultra Uzarai shara ishvalda is designed to be sort of an Hindu god; the looks, the music, the godly ost and arena, shara ishvalda has a barely visible third eye, symbol of higher power in hinduism, and its wings are stretched like arms, like the multi armed deities in Hinduism

So sad no arch Shara in the end, with epic Gamma armor. I mean i probably wouldn't want to use the actual armor, but layered would've been So Clean!
Capcom did a really good job making a parasite elder dragon. Even the details on Shara's body remind me of a tree parasite. Awesome how the lore plays into the design, as Shara is basically a parasite in the everstream.
yeah great point man!
Parasite, no its suppose to be a Lotus Flower, its head the pedals and the flower itself, its body and wings like the roots of the flower.
Is clearly not a parasite
How dare you call a god parasite, mortal!

Oh its so damn badass, such an amazing ending.
while I didn't find this boss TOO DIFFICULT (still somewhat difficult) I still ADORED this guy on the simple fact that it's presentation was just so top fucking notch
the way it's eyes follow the Camera, not your hunter was just so HAUNTING, those were were already unsettling as is but to have them look directly at you... yikes. they are like if somebody drew overly realistic eyes on a Smiley face, and dont get me started on how eerily human its teeth are.
It's attacks just scream power and presence, from the super laser to what can only be called a "Spirit bomb", they make you feel like your up against this powerful being.
And then theres the music. Listen to this shit, the part especially at 1:15 to 1:30 still gives me shivers.

I miss Xeno'jiva
I have a small personal theory that Xeno'jiiva and Shara Ishvalda either ARE or at least represent 2 of the 5 dragons in the Tale of Five from the game. Xeno'jiiva obviously would represent the fifth dragon who "climbed far into the sky to become a star of sapphire blue, shining brightly above the island" according to the story.
Shara Ishvalda probably would represent the first dragon.

This fight was a uh... an experience.
