The real beauty of this series, is that in it's essence, it just feels like a chill conversation between two dudes on a casual ride. However, the production values are through the roof. The audio is spot on, there's no wind noise or random peaking, the edit keeps the conversation flowing but keeps interesting tid-bits, the colouring is amazing, the titles are stylish, the animations are artistic... hell, even the camera guy keeps his stuff in super clean condition. There's a few shots full into the sun. lens-flare and all, and there's not a spec of dust on the lens. All brilliantly delivered in cinematic 4k @ 24fps. Bravo state bicycle co, bravo. 🤜
@@niceguyeddie Thanks Eddie! Yeah, I miss making videos! I've been busy working, but more on that later. I have a mountain of stuff to make videos on, hope to get a bunch done over the spring festival break.
46x16 is the best gear. For riding on the flat streets around my neighbourhood on my single speed, but I mean sure, you can go up a mountain on it if you want to.
@@haydengutiw I would use 48 x 17 if I lived in a country that's quite hilly. However, the terrain in my country can be described as superflat, aside from the British-style hill climbs in my country(Singapore). My ratio is either 58x16 or 58x14,depending on what kinda riding I'll be doing.
Thanks for the upload, watched the entire series wayy back and was waiting for a new one. Btw, is the intro song original compilation, would love to hear a full version of that.
I did this ride last spring in the middle of the night, took a left at Echo lake, and went up to Mt. Evans summit! Over 14k feet at 2am and 40+ miles of downhill bombing was amazing.
You have no idea. We had this on the books for a while. 2 days before we were about to film, EF told him he needed to get to Europe on the same day, 48 hours notice. He still managed to move our film day 1 day up, and get to Europe. Very generous with his time.
I love this series. You guys are seriously the best at putting together a crazy line up of pros in these interviews. But, in some of these descriptions, there are some errors that I just can't get over. I'm not the grammar police but some of these are pretty bad. "find" in line 1 of paragraph 4 and "it" in line 3 of paragraph 5. Content though?! HEAT!!!
WOW Alex, in a 2014 interview with Neal Rogers for GCN he claimed he would be a professional canoeist “canoeing enthusiast” if he wasn’t a cyclist not a single mention of a high school physics teacher. But the only laws this guy follows are the laws of thermodynamics
@@statebicycle he is awesome he hangs out and worked at the bike shop I used to frequent. He even helped me spec out my black label V2. But sadly here in Nebraska we don’t really have mountains
The only place kits are acceptable are with pro's, "events, and group roadies. It's an honor to ride with pro's at alternative events. Gushers are gateway gels.

The real pros are the ones behind the camera
That hummer getting impatient was the most hummer thing I’ve ever seen
Scott, that gate limbo cracked me up! Nice interview guys.
The EF alternative calendar guys are some of the coolest dudes in cycling
The editing, color and animations are all perfect. Always exciting when these videos pop up in my feed!

He said that and I was like damn, I use that gear to bike around town and when I get to a hill it's rough.
48/17 is superior
So funny this reply. Fixed for 12/24/1000... hmmmm. Neighborhoods most work.

This was a great interview/conversation. Also, damnit, I want a fixie/ss. FML.
Would all world tour teams let you do a ride like this? Love EF and their alternative calendar 🤩
Is Howes on Lachlan's fixie?
Yes, borrowed.
Mine now 😈

How did CPT Murika manage to get his chain to not slip? 😮😮😮
Amazing stuff. Well done! Makes me want to put my middle aged knees on a fixie (this is 100% a lie ;)).
That's EXACTLY what we're going for!
can someone tell me what kind of bike is Alex ridding?
That's Lachlan Morton's borrowed Cannondale track bike.
What's the best gear ratio for racing?
didn't wanna top it out on evens? lol
