The ski area Karlov pod Pradědem is the largest ski area in the Moravian-Silesian region. Located near the Praděd mountain, the family oriented area offers a wide variety of modern, but also some classic ropeways.
One of those oldies is located in an area seperated from the main part of the resort. The Klobouk chairlift (which literally translates to just "Hat") is a Doppelmayr fixed grip double chair from 1980. It connects two rather challenging slopes, in complete solitude far away from the hectic energy of the main area, causing the ride experience to be extremely soothing and relaxing as the chairs make their way through the forest.
Like most lifts in Karlov pod Pradědem, this chairlift has not always operated here. Originally opened in the Silvaretta Arena in Austria as the Grasjochbahn, it was relocated to Karlov pod Pradědem in 2012, allowing this nostalgic lift to live a on for longer.
For the filming of this, we were given permission by the staff to download as pedestrians upon asking. Normally, downloading during normal operation is not permitted on this lift.
