Possible reason for smaller views right now is that Ren is headlining the Saturday night show at the Secret Garden Party in Huntington this weekend. All attention is there, right now, as it is REN’s first ‘solo’ show in 4 or 5 years. Thanks for your excellent reaction, though. I am sure you will gain an audience from all the Renegades in the very near future.
Thanks for the great reactions. I'm a 55yo Canadian. I did a lot of audio and visual production in the 80's to the 2000's. I'd just like to point out a couple of things I've picked up that have impressed the hell out of me. In his early videos Ren was operating on a shoestring. In an interview about Jenny's tale and Screeches tale he mentions the video was recorded on a phone. The Lav mic used in his early videos was actually quite cheap. A large percentage of Post-production was spent cleaning it up. (what we would call in analog days "riding the pots"). One of the first videos he did after he actually had some money to play with was Money Game 3. I was really interested/worried how having a budget would change the style and inventiveness forced on him earlier. I'm guessing the $$ spent on the camera rig for MG3 was probably more than any 10 of his previous videos. Although the technical quality definitely went way up, his approach still seemed to be "use the tech to realize the vision" not splash out on flashy that looked cool but obscured the story. In another interview Ren said that the major difference for him was not having to spend tedious days fixing problems caused by cheap equipment. Thanks again

Why do people love to virtue signal? It's a mystery... ;) :) Most people are fine with pausing, as long as it isn't incessant and as long as it's accompanied by a rewind. The issue isn't so much with the audience, as with the reactor. It can be frustrating seeing a reactor miss out on a really good moment, lyric, transition or emotional build. You want them experience all those things! :) Luckily, this reactor doesn't tend to pause excessively and he nearly always rewinds. :)
100% I would assume majority, if not all have already heard the song in it's entirety. I love watching reactions to see if people think the same as me, or notice things/interpret things differently. The beauty of music. My only peeve is when they dont rewind a few seconds before resuming the video.

One of the reasons, many of us prefer the lyrics Video of this one, Is that the live Version is cut down. So its best to hear this one first to get all the lyrics. Thanks for taking the time for this one ❤
For me - personally - I prefer the pauses and analysis. It’s not like I haven’t heard the whole song 100000 times before 😅 I enjoy your reactions - you do you 🎶
Really, really enjoying your reactions!! Ren was asked in an interview whether he would be upset if other artists started using his work for inspiration. "What would you think if someone else started to write their own "Tales" series?", and you could see Ren get visibly excited as he said he thought that would be great, and he'd be delighted to have inspired anyone with their own art.
Bit late finding this reaction. The line 'hit 'em like Bronson' refers to a notorious UK prisoner, the video actually features an image of him as portrayed in the film (Bronson) by Tom Hardy. As per Wikipedia Charles Arthur Salvador (born Michael Gordon Peterson; 6 December 1952; formerly known as Charles Ali Ahmed) better known by his professional name of Charles Bronson First arrested as a petty criminal, he was convicted and sentenced in 1974 to seven years' imprisonment for armed robbery. Further sentences were imposed because of attacks on prisoners and guards. Upon his release in 1987, he began a bare-knuckle boxing career in the East End of London. His promoter thought he needed a more suitable name and suggested he change it to Charles Bronson, after the American actor. He was returned to prison in 1988 on conviction concerning another robbery. He is a violent prisoner, and has taken numerous hostages in the course of confrontations with guards, resulting in sentences of life imprisonment. He has been held at times in each of England's three special psychiatric hospitals.
@@mattpezzer4981, I doubt it. The entire video is riddled with grammatical errors. Ren is one of the most talented people on the planet, but he can't spell!
"sell oil as well": In the 19th century a British businessman began selling novelty music-boxes with inlaid exotic sea-shells. When he died his sons took over and expanded into trading oil. They kept a seashell as the logo of their company.
I have to agree with some of the other comments here regarding being a reactor. I'm personally not a fan of the ooh and ahh types out there, unless it's a one off on a piece that leaves them speechless. As music comes to us in many different forms, so does the way folks hear and perceive a song. Some do vocal analysis, others deep dive into lyrical content. You do you Ken, as with The Warning and many other bands covered on your channel, the musical and production choices a band or artist makes is why I have enjoyed your reactions. Since your own discovery of Ren and his very thoughtful arrangements, you reinforce why many of us appreciate the man, pointing out subtleties of the music that keep us engaged in the delivery of his lyrical messages.
Hi Ken, I found your reactions today. I found Ren via tiktok, followed for a while. My son is the youtube user..never really used it much. I heard abot s8ck boi and as a Chronic pain patient with adhd and cptsd it appealed to me. Then i found the music. Its only now im seeing the videos, then i found the reaction community (thinking , why would so many people watch people watching) oh I wasnt ready! There are Ren groups on fb and i found the International art group and those people are so lovely. Ren is my kind of guy, can be childish but is emotionally aware and mature. I just want to say i love your Dad jokes! They make me chuckle and i love the way you do the reacts because i really learn stuff from you. Debbie, Bristol 🇬🇧🥂👌
My brother used to say the same thing about reactions until I got him to watch a few and now he is hooked on all kinds of reactions. It doesn't logically make sense that they would be so enjoyable to watch, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Thank you for the comment and glad you are enjoying Ren and his music.
There & They're I love Ren and he is a 10/10 in so many aspects of his creativity, alas spelling is not one of them. I don't think he has things proofread which is a shame. He is an absolute genius, just not great at spelling, we all have our weaknesses.
Re-frain, frain, frain, frain 😂 Love that Ken lol ... yeah, you are correct about the " THERE / THEY'RE " line. I believe Ren has mentioned it was a typo error in one discussion. You will absolutely LOVE Part 3Ken, perhaps Ren's best video to date ? .... although that is subjective and Ren only does GREAT 🙏
I believe Ren uses an old television set on the video purposefully. Because television is used to basically brain wash us with advertisements, news, ect… It is well known that watching television can cause brain waves to slow down, leading to a pattern of alpha and delta brain waves which is a hypnosis kinda state. Ren is very intentional. I know this was your first listen and watch. But if you watch a second time and look at the images he used behind the text you’ll see exactly how powerful the video actually is. Basically he is using the money game’s own technology in a way of exposing the money game itself. Not sure if all that made sense🤪 Thank you, great reaction.
While editing I actually see the video again a couple of times. I peripherally noticed many of the images as I was reading but paid more attention later.
You don't have to do a reaction, but I'd watch. After chalk outlines, do murderer original and then his own live cover, same song but completely different. You'll understand when you watch.
Oh dang. I like your reactions and thought I’d subscribed- well now i have liked, subbed, AND commented to help ⬆️ the algorithm and boost your channel. Once you get into Ren’s live busking and mucking about with Sam Thompkins & The Big Push, I think you’ll truly dig this amazing artist even more. Oh, side note, when I showed this to my teenager last year, he said “oh yeah I saw that in middle school when we studied economics and marketing” WHAT, 🙄 you saw it years before me and you didn’t tell your dad?!? Rock on with your genuine reactions. Keep true to yourself and have fun. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
RATM 👀- check out “Sleep Now In The Fire” by Rage Against The Machine - definite influence on the look of this video AND another magnificent slam on the devastating effects of greed
Thanks for the solid view! I appreciate you taking the time. And pause all you want. Though I sometimes think that the people who are looking for someone to just watch and not comment are really just looking for someone to experience the music with. I remember in my youth I'd get around with my buddies from school and listen to the latest NIN album, or when Possum Kingdom came out we'd just chill in a room and listen to that on repeat. The internet has created a wonderful ability to socialize with people, but many things we might do together if we were in person don't have adequate proxies in this new socialization medium. It's a thinker.
If you loved the rain rain part, you would definitely love his voice when he sings in the band The Big Push. Hope you'll start with I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion Hip hop when he's wearing the red suspenders. That's the best version. Best regards from Norway 🇳🇴
To respond to your title; because it's the story of life in today's world being told. We all live in this world, and he's describing the horrific things we all wish would be addressed in the existing systems but don't seem to hear enough from those people who could effect the way they work from the top down. However, it's also because this message is what we all need to remember to be the grassroots change from the bottom that can counter the direction from existing systems. Also, HI KITTY!!!! I SAW KITTy!!!1!! YAY!
I think he's actually talking about Charles Bronson, the UK's most notorious prison inmate, hence the clip of Tom Hardy playing him in the film Bronson .... only for your future reviews ❤
Speaking of copyright, if you ever do ending up having copyright issues with rens music, let us know and we can tell you how to get in touch with someone that will help 💜😊
He has been removing the claim almost always within an hour. Sometimes pretty much immediately. Some other artists/ Publishing Companies could learn from him.
I’m as old as you renaissance man, and 99% agree with Ren’s weltunschuung - he’s not blaming, he’s observing that we are all part of this indoctrination - point the mirror at ourselves Musically he has layers of instrumentation, with heavy dropped beats for effect. Next one / I was cynical about the trajectory, but then remembered McAfee, Epstein snd Delorean. Love your reactions. 👍👍🏽
Oh right this is your first experience with a studio version? There is definitely something special about the live performances, but there is so much flavour and uniqueness to his productions too. He has been producing beats since he was 12 and with his creativity it is always very interesting. You will see… Ren gave us a little history lesson in Money Game part one and here’s the economics class. It takes a very clever and flexible mind to break down a complex topic in a way that everyone can understand it. To then do it using a well known nursery rhyme? And in the form of rap? Ren is a genius. Now give us your reaction to part 3!! 😂
I cant wait for you to react to money game part 3. And not keen on the 1st money game but i love 2&3. I also cant wait for you to react to the big push. I gotta be honest, it doesn't bother me that you pause it but please please please don't do it so much with the 3rd money game because it loses the actual story. You'll understand what i mean when you watch/listen to it. I REALLY hope you take note of that what I'm saying. I'd appreciate it more than you will ever know! Also please please please react the beautiful song and video - the big push - precious official video ❤❤❤
ADHD and spelling mistakes go hand in hand. Brain is so far ahead of the fingers that mistakes happen and then when we read over things, our brains know what we said so it sort of just overlooks the mistakes (unless we did something REALLY weird... I've got a bad habit of writing the first few letters of one word and the other half will be part of the next word! Those usually stick out as being WRONG, but less glaring mistakes get missed)
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl just for clarification...a couple of things. 1) Ren is an ADHDer so I wasn't just applying my own experience for no reason there and 2) there's really no such thing as "adult ADHD". While someone might not get diagnosed until adulthood, they always had it. Especially in women (and women of a certain age), ADHD and Autism went un/underdiagnosed due to the pervasive opinion that they were almost exclusively conditions that young boys had. Most of the models set up around them didn't even take women and girls into consideration and they often present differently...but you don't develop either condition later in life, just the presentation may change and become more noticeable leading to a diagnosis. (Not saying that you didn't know any/all of that...but I don't want anyone who might see it to get the wrong idea about what ADHD is and think that you can "catch" it later!)
Adult ADHD is just what the therapist who diagnosed her called it. Didn't make sense to me either but I was just saying what she said. Clarification and passing on of knowledge is never a bad thing and I wish more people did so so we would all learn more rather than let people continue to say things mistakenly.
About the chucking wood... There's a video of Ren playing by himself testing how fast he could rap, and that bit is part of the wording. Can't give you the link here, not permitted, but type his name and "rap god" in the search, and...
Try not to respond to the rude comments, I’m sure that the majority of them are nice. The recognition will likely attract more, and it also makes the community sounds like jerks and fanatics. I promise, we’re not! (I mean as a collective, there’s always outliers)
I will keep that in mind and try to leave out the bad comments unless they are too ridiculous or funny not to comment on. But, I get your very good point.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl my personal feeling is and always will be for reactors to do whatever they feel like on their channels. Loving your reactions AND your pausing to offer insight and commentary. That's what I'm here for 🫶 FYI: I've noticed that view count fluctuates among Ren's videos on other reactors' channels, particularly the Money Game series. 'Hi, Ren' always gets significantly higher number of views. 🙋♀️💖
"Hit 'em like Bronson" is referenced by the video clip of actor, Tom Hardy who portrays British criminal Charles Bronson in the movie "Bronson". ua-cam.com/video/paa9knyJKrs/v-deo.htmlsi=inYg7Vfln_dfYZNd Also, its well known that all artists take inspiration from other artists. Ive heard many reactors, who are varying artists themselves (singers, rappers, writer, cinematographers), also comment (after watching several Ren videos) that they have been inspired by Ren to try something different in their next piece of work. I thinknRen would be humbly, proud to know this! Enjoying your reactions!
If you get too much flack for pausing too much, with the shorter videos, you could compromise by watching it through without any pausing for a flowing reaction then play it again Sam for analysis which I'm sure we'll stay for. I've seen other reactors do this with much success and appreciation You're welcome 😊
Thank you for the clarification/correction. I have never heard of him but now I know. At least it gave me an opportunity to bring up an action star legend.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl outside of the UK Bronson is not really well known but there's a brilliant movie based on his life that is worth a watch. He's a very interesting character.
Diamonds in particular are an egregious case of the ills of Capitalism. DeBeers holds vast amounts of diamonds in reserve to keep the price up. And they mark them so that you know they're actual mined diamonds and try to sell the idea of mined diamonds being better than created ones, despite the fact that created diamonds are superior in every possible way. And they'd be even better, yet, if DeBeers didn't actively fight against the technology improving just to protect their investement.
Too true. If I was with a woman that insisted on real diamonds at an exorbitant cost rather than a synthetic that looks exactly the same, I would have doubts she has her priorities straight since I am not rich.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl My first husband gave me a ring with a diamond, but only because he'd bought it for a prior relationship that didn't last. My now husband and I don't even _have_ rings. 😸

That nursery-rhyme break-down is what Ren was refering to when he mocks himself in Hi Ren "she sells sea shells"... kind of an easter egg (kind of)

Looking forward to you enjoying part 3
Really, really enjoying your reactions!! Ren was asked in an interview whether he would be upset if other artists started using his work for inspiration. "What would you think if someone else started to write their own "Tales" series?", and you could see Ren get visibly excited as he said he thought that would be great, and he'd be delighted to have inspired anyone with their own art.
Can't wait for you to do part 3 :)
Refrain frain frain frain lol.
Yeah part 3 is another level.
Bit late finding this reaction. The line 'hit 'em like Bronson' refers to a notorious UK prisoner, the video actually features an image of him as portrayed in the film (Bronson) by Tom Hardy.
As per Wikipedia
Charles Arthur Salvador (born Michael Gordon Peterson; 6 December 1952; formerly known as Charles Ali Ahmed) better known by his professional name of Charles Bronson
First arrested as a petty criminal, he was convicted and sentenced in 1974 to seven years' imprisonment for armed robbery.
Another great reaction.
Really enjoying your reactions...
I can’t wait for you to do money game three.
It's the UK prisoner Bronson
Ren inspires so many of us. Enjoyed your reaction.👍💕🦇
I sing Rain...Rain...Rain Rain every other day or so. Out in public places, by myself, in the shower - doesn't matter.
Kind of like Murderer!
Keep doing what you do. Love your insights! ❤
Ren is deliberate about almost everything he does. Spelling, however, is not one of them! Even his best-produced lyric videos often have typos.
I think he did turth on purpose particularly this word in a time of 'fake' news
@@mattpezzer4981, I doubt it. The entire video is riddled with grammatical errors. Ren is one of the most talented people on the planet, but he can't spell!
😂 Love the guy, but he does need a proofreader 😂
I like your comments. They’re always interesting. Keep doing you! It’s not like many of us haven’t seen the videos before. 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks.
"sell oil as well":
In the 19th century a British businessman began selling novelty music-boxes with inlaid exotic sea-shells. When he died his sons took over and expanded into trading oil. They kept a seashell as the logo of their company.
For the algorithm ❤
Thank you for the comment AND the support. It is appreciated.
It's the real story of Shell Oil..
Great reaction. MG3 is even better. .. totally amazing. Can't wait for you to react to it. Love your reactions!
There & They're
I love Ren and he is a 10/10 in so many aspects of his creativity, alas spelling is not one of them. I don't think he has things proofread which is a shame. He is an absolute genius, just not great at spelling, we all have our weaknesses.
Ren is ewrythng 🪄🎼✨💯👍 🇫🇮💙
You might want to check out some baby REN with some stuff from his first band - Trick the Fox 🦊
Re-frain, frain, frain, frain 😂 Love that Ken lol ... yeah, you are correct about the " THERE / THEY'RE " line. I believe Ren has mentioned it was a typo error in one discussion. You will absolutely LOVE Part 3Ken, perhaps Ren's best video to date ? .... although that is subjective and Ren only does GREAT 🙏
REN inspires people ❤❤
I believe Ren uses an old television set on the video purposefully.
Nice reaction!👍
Please react to "Swansong" by The big Push - it is TOTALLY another genre.
Greetings from Denmark. 🇩🇰
I will be getting to the big push after a couple more Ren reactions.
👋,,, It's me again😂... I DIDN'T get a notification about MONEY GAME 1. . I DIDN'T KNOW YOU DID EITHER UNTIL 2 CAME OUT.
BAD WOLF!!!!! Now you have to leave the pack! Aw, what am I sayin'? I can't quit you!
Now you can watch the A Capella version!
Love it!
Woohoo! 🔥🔥🔥
You don't have to do a reaction, but I'd watch. After chalk outlines, do murderer original and then his own live cover, same song but completely different. You'll understand when you watch.
Great reaction ❤
Regarding the There/They're thing, there are actually loads of misspellings in the lyrics.
That said, this is easily my favourite of the trilogy.
If you loved the rain rain part, you would definitely love his voice when he sings in the band The Big Push. Hope you'll start with I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion Hip hop when he's wearing the red suspenders. That's the best version. Best regards from Norway 🇳🇴
I have that specific version in my Songs for Reactions playlist.
YAY!
Ash (KITTY) says Hi back. He liked the shout out.
Not Charles Bronson, but refers to the 2008 Bronson movie with Tom Hardy.
I think he's actually talking about Charles Bronson, the UK's most notorious prison inmate, hence the clip of Tom Hardy playing him in the film Bronson .... only for your future reviews ❤
👍👍👍❤❤❤
Interesting reaction I enjoyed and am looking forward to MG3
Great reaction!! Hadnt seen your channel before so new sub here!
Welcome aboard!
🥰🥰
Speaking of copyright, if you ever do ending up having copyright issues with rens music, let us know and we can tell you how to get in touch with someone that will help 💜😊
He has been removing the claim almost always within an hour. Sometimes pretty much immediately. Some other artists/ Publishing Companies could learn from him.
❤❤❤
Yeah, everyone was living for the latest Secret Garden Party videos. Or they were lucky enough to be there
I’m as old as you renaissance man, and 99% agree with Ren’s weltunschuung - he’s not blaming, he’s observing that we are all part of this indoctrination - point the mirror at ourselves
Musically he has layers of instrumentation, with heavy dropped beats for effect.
Next one / I was cynical about the trajectory, but then remembered McAfee, Epstein snd Delorean.
Love your reactions. 👍👍🏽
Refrain frain frain frain 🤣🙌🏼
Fuck yeah ❤
The Bronson reference is about the 2008 movie with the same name. It’s about a British criminal and bare knuckle fighter. “Hit ‘em like Bronson.”
I thought Richard Branson the marketing genius and billionaire magistrate of the Virgin Group.
Oh right this is your first experience with a studio version? There is definitely something special about the live performances, but there is so much flavour and uniqueness to his productions too. He has been producing beats since he was 12 and with his creativity it is always very interesting. You will see…
Ren gave us a little history lesson in Money Game part one and here’s the economics class. It takes a very clever and flexible mind to break down a complex topic in a way that everyone can understand it. To then do it using a well known nursery rhyme? And in the form of rap? Ren is a genius.
Now give us your reaction to part 3!! 😂
Re-frain, frain, frain, frain 👍👍👍 it also could be REN REN REN REN 😂
13:56 I'll be interested to hear your song, as I'm writing a book on that very subject.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
❤
the line about Morals being a poor man's quality is my favorite...the implication is , if you want to be rich you can't muck it up with morality.
Good way to state it
The Snare Drum.... Military element?
Makes sense.
#Renagades
The other version is a capella
I cant wait for you to react to money game part 3. And not keen on the 1st money game but i love 2&3. I also cant wait for you to react to the big push. I gotta be honest, it doesn't bother me that you pause it but please please please don't do it so much with the 3rd money game because it loses the actual story. You'll understand what i mean when you watch/listen to it. I REALLY hope you take note of that what I'm saying. I'd appreciate it more than you will ever know! Also please please please react the beautiful song and video - the big push - precious official video ❤❤❤
I can't promise anything but I will see how it goes. A couple of people have said that so I will try.
All too familiar as my ex-wife had adult adhd and was prone to those things as well.
When you get around to it (societal commentary wise), please consider "Crucify your culture" and "Life is funny"
I will add them to the list.
That's what I'm here for 🫶
FYI: I've noticed that view count fluctuates among Ren's videos on other reactors' channels, particularly the Money Game series. 'Hi, Ren' always gets significantly higher number of views. 🙋♀️💖
"Hit 'em like Bronson" is referenced by the video clip of actor, Tom Hardy who portrays British criminal Charles Bronson in the movie "Bronson".
ua-cam.com/video/paa9knyJKrs/v-deo.htmlsi=inYg7Vfln_dfYZNd
Also, its well known that all artists take inspiration from other artists.
I've seen other reactors do this with much success and appreciation
You're welcome 😊
And when you do pause for a chat, it's very good that you rewind, allowing flow 👍
Wrong Bronson. He's talking about the British criminal known as Bronson. Who is the most violent man in recent British criminal history.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl
Charles Bronson... Also in The British "Wartime Classic" movie "The Great Escape".
👀
