The chairs are about the happiest I've ever seen but what I really like is how you created that magical corner of fabric, lantern, table and chairs. I would be out there every morning having coffee and a nice quiet start to the day. Well - I wouldn't do that today because here in Flint it is 2 degrees and oh brother that's really cold but at least the sun is shining - just like your videos.
I'm out there quite a bit, but the chairs have changed. It's been a few years since I made these. :)

I absolutely loved it *****. I did something similar for my mother's room, except it was one color, a beautiful metallic paint in turquoise. Changed the handles to modern....it looks AMAZING! I didn't have to buy a whole new dresser set.

Americana makes an ultra matte varnish that works very well with this product. I would use that for sure.

Nice! I found an old wood sewing table at a thrift store, I wonder if this paint would work. My niece claims it would be a sin to paint the table without the tedious sanding process.

I like the re- cover of the sit cover. But aren't you suppose to remove the old fabric and replace the batting before placing the new fabric? But other wise I liked the painting.
Hi Linda, You can, but this seat was covered in plastic (and the batting was fine) if you'll notice in the first part of the video. I removed the plastic and it was perfect underneath. It's meant to show a quick and easy way to cover a thrift store find or a seat cover that might just need some freshening up. It's not a tutorial on properly upholstering a seat cover.

I've heard that word Bohemian all my life it's still don't know what it refers to. Was there a place I know there was a Rhapsody were they a tribe? Anyway I like the colorful chairs
It refers several movements and "tribes" throughout history.
So, do you know off-hand if this paint is available at hardware stores such as Ace, Lowe's or Home Depot? Ordering online can become pretty spendy. I'd Like to do this for my daughter for Mother's Day this year. Thanks again!
Kathy Reinhardt Pretty sure they sell some colors at Home Depot, but if you have a Home Depot, then you should have a Michaels and they definitely sell it there.

Amazon is saying that Americana Decor chalk paint is frequently returned. Can you recommend a different brand?
There are tons of chalk paints out there. TONS! I'm sure any brand will do.
When you say dry brush, ?? I would stop at the one coat color but in case I try your dry brush/sanding technique, what is that please and thank you.
Dry brush just means using a little bit of paint and a dry brush to get on some color and highlight the details. xoxo
And, you didn't get a drop of paint on you... Me, I'm not so lucky. I have a tin fronted pie pantry that belonged to my great (great) grandmother - it would look fantastic painted in this fashion for my sewing room. So, get over here and paint it!

do you have to varnish?
You can varnish with a matte sealer if you want. No need to with this paint.
Is there a particular type of fabric that you recommend?
