Minute 15:00 Magnesium helps repair DNA-damage from ROS(reactive oxygen species). Every 100mg deficiency results in 24% increase in pancreatic cancer. Magnesium also pulls calcium and prevents its loss from bones and intestines in menopausal women, the first one is bone brittleness and the second one is colon cancer.
As a counselor I find this information really helpful. I work with a lot of children and teens who have behavior disorders and autism, I highly recommend that anyone interested tune into this speech at 35:00 minute mark and follow what the Dr says about vitamin D's importance in seratonin production.
From personal experience behavioral problems are vitamin and hormone deficiencies. As well as toxins. Can all be changed through diet. Carbs play a large factor in behavioral problems as well as certain asthma meditations restrict nutritional intake.
Most informative explanations of bio chemical pathways I have had pleasure to listen to. I love getting my magnesium from Epsom Salt bath or footbaths, and my vit D from the sun of course, and high quality cod liver oil, not as the vit D by itself.
Thank you Yogananda for that: am about to buy mg flakes for footbath. Will be adding a sea salt, as very aware at moment that Mg, Na and K are a delicate mineral balance: magnesium lowers sodium, which in turn can mess with the sodium/potassium ratio. Seen people crashing/extreme fatigue with single use of magnesium over time. Thank you
Thank a lot Dr Patrick. You explaind the necessity of taking and consuming the vitamins D and omega 3 and the unavoidable consequences of not to use them by a beautifully easy science language.👌👏

Mind-blowing presentation. Thank you so much for the upload, I LOVE it!!!! Im a self-taught biochemistry junkie. So if tryptophanhydroxylase II is regulated by Vitamin D and estrogen, this may explain menopausal mood-swings and depression. Not enough available of either as most people are D deficient.
Dr. Patrick is my GURU ... tracking my telomeres now and exercise is a plus besides a salad, and yes we do the smoothies designed for phytonutrients, for example we use the skins of lemons and oranges in the smoothie, i.e. the whole fruit ... 70 Going On 100
There are testing companies now ... or ask you doctor, and companies like 20andMe ... and testing for ploymorphisms ... some are testing for what is being called "Cellular Age" ... part of the Hayfield equation ..
At 43:13, the wrong math is there. Per an earlier slide, its 1000IU for 5ng/mL. To go from 20 to 30 you need 2000IU, not 4000IU. Not a big deal but just wanted to clarify in case someone was confused.
Rhonda, a force for the good of humanity! A suggestion regarding Vit D: Adele Davis was emphatic that Vit D is made in sweat on the skin. From there it is absorbed into the skin and the blood stream. This requires time. Washing sweat off too soon washes vit D away. Could this be why in modern times people who get good sun exposure also have low vit D?
The problem is that the perfect diet depends on your dna, your personal history and your current lifestyle. We are all different so what is excellent advice of what to/not to eat for one person is totally wrong for the next. No easy way. You need to study what your own system doesnt seem to be doing right and study to see if there is potentially some deficiency cause for it. Most people are unwilling or unable to spend the time to discover their own deficiencies, and some even when told and supplied with documentation will refuse to do what they need to improve their health. If I see a deficiency in someone I will tell them, in one ear and out the other 99% of the time. The information is available now in a way that has never been possible in the history of humanity, do you care enough to study yourself and act on what you learn? chia seed smoothie? Really?
You would enjoy a you tube video from 2010 presented by Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, entitled "What should I eat"? After listening to a non stop 2 hour and 13 minute lecture without as much as looking at a piece of paper, you will get a good idea of what you should eat. He was brilliant, (like Rhonda Patrick is) and presents a plethora of information that at times during his career I sometimes found hard to follow it was so fluid. Good luck.
Excellent, highly informative. Surprising was the segment around 30:00 on Pregnancy, D3, autoimmune, estrogen, Tryptophan, Serotonin, pathways and their connection to autism in boys and lower autism occurrences in girls..
boys are known to get more autism because of the effect of testosterone (high) .... most people are insulin resistant : for women -> don't convert testosterone to estrogen = PCOS or high testosterone = more boys with autism ? maybe more lesbian girls when they get this testosterone high from the mother in utero ?
The Quantum Erasure experiment suggest strongly that the past is adjusted to support the present observation. Once you have assimilated this then the necessary complexity to support your observations becomes obvious.
Only for modern life style. Our ascestors spent 200 thounsand years just eating everything they could find without much concern of nutrients. Human chemistry had plenty of time to adapt to that kind of diet. Then came modernity f*cking all our foods ....and now we are totally out of tune. .
Unbelievable information. Have been working my way through your talks since finding you on JRE. Every talk extremely important and information everyone can benefit from to improve our health in a preventative way. In addition to using a SAD light as I live in not so sunny Scotland. Keen to make some further changes based on this info and see how I continue to improve.
Hey Gav. I’ve been trying things last 10 years, my best no1 recommendation is Magnesium if your not already having it, I use ocean mag by one nutrition. 20£ will last good few months, within 3 weeks you’ll be sleeping better, hair growth nail growth, male production , you’ll thank me later buddy

Interesting but all research depends on outside factors ie increased rate of awareness and identification of autism, genetic inflammatory diseases, increased pollution, societal/environmental, hereditary causes of depression etc. I am glad that new Vit D and serotonin information is ongoing. Some have to ingest serotonin as a treatment for depression, which exists in all cultures to some extent regardless of diet. You mentioned that too much can cause gut inflammation, and I would hope no one stops their meds if the have both depression and an inflammatory disease. Oddly, I don’t see many comments on the animal experiments. During the 80,s we were all told by the scientific community to eat carbs not fats. The disease types and rates are evidence. No need to torture any more monkeys, dogs etc.
Serotonin production varies due to social reasons as well, as does numerous neurotransmitters, modulators, hormones. Do NOT look to isolated drugs like SSRIs to save you if attempting to persist in unhealthy social behaviors or ideations.
@@briseboy I would hope no one is looking for an SSRI to save them. My point is basically the same as yours- too many factors to have a knee-jerk reaction from social media, which is not uncommon these days.
Taking enough D3 seems to help me sleep better. I'm taking 125 mcg (5,000 iu) 2 x week. Such a shame when you go to your family doctor they know nothing about nutrition, vitamins, or supplements. My great grandmother was a medicine woman who knew the importance of diet, exercise and sleep. Now, if you don't feel right a anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, or narcotic is prescribed. We are slowly being made sicker and sicker by our physicians and pharmaceutical companies. Eating a varied salad and smoothie everyday makes much more sense.
My sister who is a doctor. Attended a vit.D symposium with a vit.D researcher .5,000 twice a week is not enough .Remember Dr. Patrick also said at age 70yrs. old we make 4 times less vit.D3 from sun exposure !

She makes it sound as if amino acids like leucine and isoleucine are bad because they cause a big, long lasting drop in seratonin. I am sure this would concern a lot of fitness enthusiasts who consume protein shakes after their workouts. I wish she had mentioned how best to counteract that problem, besides avoiding consuming those amino acids.

So please explain how vitamin K antagonists (warfarin etc) prevent blood clots, if as you say minimising Vit K doesn't affect blood clotting? Moreover surely vit K2 not K1 is responsible for directing calcium out of the soft tissue ?
yeah she made a mistake its vitamin k2 that is mostly responsible for removing calcium of arteries and k1 is for blood clotting but k1 can also remove calcium from arteries but nowhere near as effective as k2

additional axiom for exercise zealots - "you can't outrun a bad diet"
great lecture; thanks !
yeah, and good diet is one that you are grown yourself, with about pesticides. can you? no. then supplements!
I really enjoyed this talk and took a lot of notes. Ordinarily, I have the attention span of a small dog, but listening to your talks is easy. You make every word count. No filler and that's awesome, thanks again.
I can't believe I'm sitting through these nutritional seminars .
I thank Dr Patrick
this woman can be trusted. scientifically she knows what she is talking abouy
She surely knows how to find the right studies and exaggerate their findings in order to make it all seem soooo exciting.
Michael Riess she’s a scientist mate.
Omg she went to Manila...she is a great help & blessing for people with inborn bad health like me.
What an excellent presentation!
Excellent Information & Engaging Delivery
I'm have been listening to Rhonda Patrick for 3-4 years. I didn't know she went to my country.
I hope you visit my country again.
Just watching Dr. Patrick is elevating my Bdnf:-)
Most informative explanations of bio chemical pathways I have had pleasure to listen to.
I love getting my magnesium from Epsom Salt bath or footbaths, and my vit D from the sun of course, and high quality cod liver oil, not as the vit D by itself.
Try magnesium flakes and also k2 for absorption of vitamin D
Thank you Yogananda for that: am about to buy mg flakes for footbath. Will be adding a sea salt, as very aware at moment that Mg, Na and K are a delicate mineral balance: magnesium lowers sodium, which in turn can mess with the sodium/potassium ratio. Seen people crashing/extreme fatigue with single use of magnesium over time. Thank you
Thank a lot Dr Patrick. You explaind the necessity of taking and consuming the vitamins D and omega 3 and the unavoidable consequences of not to use them by a beautifully easy science language.👌👏

Vitamin D is in fats found in animal based foods which Americans have been avoiding since the 90s and Americans have been getting sicker and sicker.

That kind of education has a price and it's quite high. At least she decided to study STEM subjects instead of pursuing one of the many useless degrees women graduate with today.
Can anyone believe the speaker is over 90-years old, truly outstanding!

Excellent, eye opening presentation. Thank you.
absolutely a priceless lecture I 've ever luckily watched. Thank you doctor for the tremendous efforts you had put in it till it was ready for the public as well as the interested ones.
Thank you for sharing. I've learnt alot,i've been battling immunodeficiency effects in my body for so long.
An interesting video, very well explained. Thanks you!

My very thoughts. As soon as she said that I had an "ah ha" moment! 😊
TeloYears ... just started their ads ... this is the team that got the Nobel Prize for the discovery of telomeres ...
how do you track your telomerees?
with lots of money lol
Nice one dude!
Such valuable information.
At 43:13, the wrong math is there. Per an earlier slide, its 1000IU for 5ng/mL. To go from 20 to 30 you need 2000IU, not 4000IU. Not a big deal but just wanted to clarify in case someone was confused.
Yes i noticed that as well and was scrolling down the comments to see if anyone else did too
Exactly
Good voice for presentations.....works well.
Priscilla Allen hmmmmmm
being over weight , lacking vit k2 , magnesium can also result in poor absorption usage in the body
I would love to know what the perfect diet is and I would just eat it. I already completely cut out sugar and breads and I feel amazing.
Good luck.
GBOMBS greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, seeds (nuts)
Now it’s October 2019, do you still feel the same way?
There’s no perfect diet because we are all different, everyone needs is different. And a diet that works for you now may not work for you tomorrow
It would be nice to have access to a more legible version of the slides--I can't read them, at all.
Boy! Life is a delicate balance, isn't it??
The Quantum Erasure experiment suggest strongly that the past is adjusted to support the present observation.
Once you have assimilated this then the necessary complexity to support your observations becomes obvious.
Atrhur Robey wut
Only for modern life style.
Our ascestors spent 200 thounsand years just eating everything they could find without much concern of nutrients.
Human chemistry had plenty of time to adapt to that kind of diet.
Then came modernity f*cking all our foods ....and now we are totally out of tune.

Yes, our bodies are so strong, yet vulnerable. Like a jet plane flying an amazing height, yet one little nut or bolt is missing and boom!
Unbelievable information. Have been working my way through your talks since finding you on JRE. Every talk extremely important and information everyone can benefit from to improve our health in a preventative way.
Glad I’m still 26 and found this as had been really struggling along in winter months and since adding vitamin D and multivitamins I’ve seen a huge improvement.
20£ will last good few months, within 3 weeks you’ll be sleeping better, hair growth nail growth, male production
, you’ll thank me later buddy
@@AlamBarzakh99 cheers mate. I’ll give that a go. I’ve got a magnesium spray for bed that was recommended and some zma supplement that I hadn’t taken for a good while that I’ve taken for last couple of nights and I have actually had a couple of uninterrupted sleeps which is unusual for me and was good.
Thanks for the advice and all the best on your journey 👏

@@gavin7miller yes by one nutrition known as ocean mag powder.

Thank you for this helpful informations to us, really appreciated your service as a researcher. Thank!
OMG! Who is this speaker/lecturer! I think I love her!

So much important information, thank you.
you are fantastic in all aspects

Taking enough D3 seems to help me sleep better. I'm taking 125 mcg (5,000 iu) 2 x week. Such a shame when you go to your family doctor they know nothing about nutrition, vitamins, or supplements. My great grandmother was a medicine woman who knew the importance of diet, exercise and sleep. Now, if you don't feel right a anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, or narcotic is prescribed. We are slowly being made sicker and sicker by our physicians and pharmaceutical companies. Eating a varied salad and smoothie everyday makes much more sense.
It's been said that the worst outcome possible is for the patient to get well. Not for the patient, of course, but for everyone else.
I must mention that 2x 5000iu d3 might not be enough take it at least 5 times a week to see better results as we dont get lot of sunshine anymore
My sister who is a doctor. Attended a vit.D symposium with a vit.D researcher .5,000 twice a week is not enough .Remember Dr. Patrick also said at age 70yrs. old we make 4 times less vit.D3 from sun exposure !

Has anyone read the book,”How not to die”? The author talks about the importance of getting macro and micro nutrients from food and not just popping supplements. I know, I know, it’s tough but not my research or book just asking what people think of the book? Thanks:)❤️🙏🏻✌️
I was so impressed by the book that I bought 7 books to give to friends

Outstanding material- where are all of these micronutrients coming from? there are too many of them to keep track of. Hopefully they are coming from your diet.
Your stunning and so clever I caught you on the Joe rogan podcast and have since bought Vitamin D3 4000 I.U and take one tablet daily. Triple Omega 3, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin K2, Calcium, Zinc magnesium & calcium. I’ve just ordered Vitamin A and C this is all in aid of muscle building and a better metabolism. Thank you Ronda
I found k2 gave me heart palpatations like a few extra beats .. it could have been the magnesium , it also could have been I was not eating enough calcium .
@@justineandserena Wow! You're the first person Ive come across who experience similar symptoms like me when I take Vit K. It was a petrifying experience, I almost called 911. I found with the k2 it happened when I took the capsule version an it was taking 2x daiky 200 mcg total
Not sure if it happened only with 1
So I switched to a serum k2/d3/A combo
50 mcg k2/1000 iud3 an some vitamin A
I with had no palpatations an I went up to 150 mcg.. you can start on 50 an see how u feel..
Also I added more calcium food to my diet .. an that also helps
I haven’t tried my capsule k2 yet as I’m scared of it .. but eventually I might try

does fasting affect these deficiencies? Or is it only short term. I guess we could supplement with a multi vitamin
Redirecting calcium is the function of K2 not K1.
Yes.
Yeah I was thinking isn't it k2mk7 that pulls dissolve calcifications of arteries? Why does she say k1 does this?
As stated
What about vitamin B12 deficiency in the United States?
It seems she completely for b12, the most important one.
Thanks for the video. What about those with blood clotting issues. The need to limit vitamin k or take more drugs ie warfarin. Therefore i severely limit my vitamin k. And get my nutrients from the abundance of other food sources beets, nuts, seeds, onions, garlic, squashes, mushrooms on and on🍇🥑🍉🍎🍒🍓🍅🍋
I think they need to use vit. K2 and limit vit K1
You are my favorite doc thx
She makes it sound as if amino acids like leucine and isoleucine are bad because they cause a big, long lasting drop in seratonin. I am sure this would concern a lot of fitness enthusiasts who consume protein shakes after their workouts. I wish she had mentioned how best to counteract that problem, besides avoiding consuming those amino acids.
Excess amino acids (easy to get from too many animal products) are one of the leading problems with metabolic issues. Go plant based. B2B101 (Back to Basics Health) Facebook group:- m.facebook.com/groups/553235201434948/
