Jimmy you nailed it. Back pain, worn out knees, broken fingers and toes, still have a steel plate and screws in my left hand from stopping a shot at goal from a corner. Just add freezing cold and occasional snow, at night, for places in central tablelands
My son played hockey for 12 years. This is alarmingly accurate. Hope you have sorted out the fastest route to the 24 hour medical clinic and decided who is going to do the Friday night run to the other end of the city to stand on the side of a field that is colder than a Antarctic winter with rain coming at you sideways to cheer the team on as they lose 14-0 to little shts who all play for a private school😃. And look forward to: egg sized knocks to the head, teeth knocked out of place, dislocated knees and collar bones, broken toes from 'accidental stomping' by studs and a whole lot of driving to far flung suburbs you never knew existed only discover the game was forfeited/ moved to the opposite side of town/ started an hour earlier than you thought...🏑 Have fun😂
I rarely feel as Swedish as I do now. I made it to 35 seconds before I realised it's field hockey, not ice hockey 😂 And even then it's because I got thinking "there's no grass in hockey oh wait a minute 🤔😅"
SO TRUE about the left-handed discrimination! I loved hockey but it is so hard to pick up as a leftie particularly one who didn't play it at school and has a coordination disorder.
Actually once you get it I think left handers have an advantage. Your left hand is the one that does all the skill stuff and your right hand is there for support and strength. My sister is a lefty and much more skilful then I am
Completely correct. Left handers actually have a technical advantage as the left hand is at the top of the stick. This controls the stick for dribbling and passing skills. The right hand is more associated with power used in hitting and slapping the ball. I love Jimmy's videos and it is a very funny line of comedy, however, it is technically inaccurate
This is so great, I have been waiting for this video for ages. You forgot the hitting the ball into another players foot and injuring them but still getting the free hit because their foot was in the way.
@cheerydog6785 I'd have a training run wearing cricket pads first. See how you feel. Also, get the kids to simultaneously throw golf balls at your legs, arms and back - just to test the old pain threshold. Should be good to go 😳
In ice hockey there'll be a professional boxer on each team who will periodically throw off their gloves and beat up the other team's boxer. Oh, ho ho, no, they're not allowed to violate the rules. Yes, I know one of the rules is not to beat up the other players, but that's what they're gonna do and they'll be punished for it. They have go sit in a box and watch the game like a wealthy spectator with amazing seats.
Still my favourite sport I ever played, our school though only had one set of Lunatic Gear, so in practice games and weekly sport we had 'kicking backs', who were a normal defender acting as a Lunatic, and could use their feet to block or kick the skee ball... yeah, it hurt.
As someone who was a left-handed (pretty bad) goalie this is a true description. I always thought playing on turf took out half the fun, playing on a country town grass field and seeing a nice hit go completely the wrong direction when it hit a divot was awesome.
OK I definitely need a Canadian Hockey (aka ice hockey) full version. Fastest and most exciting game in the world. My team is in the second round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. This is the best time of the year!
Jason you have done so well noting down these ridiculous sports. I think it is now time for the ultimate test: could you please ask for a description of Trugo?
North Americans: huh? Oh, they're talking about field hockey instead of regular hockey, ice hockey. I knew about how they call something else football and then call football "American football" but now I have to remember that hockey isn't hockey?
Loved it... played for more than 10 years... the only rule that changed, seemingly yearly was the Offside rule. Jimmy steered away from this one. I have not played for many years so I'm not sure if the current ruling.
There's also the real Ice hockey, the most insane one of them all. The Canadian ice hockey is for the special needs kids; played indoors, ridiculous amount of padding and ADD level of game play. The actual ice hockey is played outdoors on real ice, in -40C and 2x45 min sessions.
real hockey is played on grass. The other one is ice hockey. Hence why they’re administered by the FIH vs the FIIH - the internationally agreed names are hockey and ice hockey. Plus it’s not a real sport unless you run 😂
So, let's get this right. Superior handed people are the majority, about 90%. While non-superior handed people make up about 10% of the population. By definition, superior handed is "normal" and non-superior handed is "abnormal". Just saying.....
Canadian Hockey, frozen and with knives on your feet🔪🔪🔪
I will always support my fellow left-handers in their rage against our oppressors!
The Certified Lunatic part is so accurate it's painful😂

There are some fields on Melbourne that may as well be in Antartica.
I am walking back-pain in the shape of a hockey player.

Thank you! My son went to his first hockey lesson today and I needed a better understanding of the game, greatly appreciated thanks!

The timing of this as the junior season starts in Victoria was perfect
SO TRUE about the left-handed discrimination! I loved hockey but it is so hard to pick up as a leftie particularly one who didn't play it at school and has a coordination disorder.
Strangely, Ice Hockey is played mostly left handed. About 60%-70% of NHL players play left handed.
@@99thTuesday
They're different sticks to hockey sticks

Definitely the most accurate description I've heard of a hockey goalie.
I found myself nodding along with all of this. That was certainly the sport I used to play. Makes me consider attempting to do it again
