    They really should consider putting the 850 in the Viking. I know it's a utility sxs, but that poor, one cylinder, 686 sometimes just isn't enough. Maybe do like what they're doing here; still offer the 700 for those that don't necessarily want or need the extra power and want a little more value, and the 850 for those that do

      Better yet the 1000, IMO the 850 would be a stupid waste of time and expense. Awesome suspension that provides a plush ride and near the 100 hp or above and I'd buy a viking right now. I like the 3 seater machines.

    This looks great. I really hope Yamaha continues this trend of higher performance quality and value - the big two BRP and Polaris are not offering much value in this price range. CF-Moto is catching up to this market position fast though so they had better keep the products coming.

    My family and I like and have really enjoyed our 2017 CanAm 800 Commander. It’s been a reliable and durable buggy for hunting duty, trail riding, and managing our 41 acre northern Michigan property. But I have to admit, this new Wolverine X2 1000 is the machine that has me seriously thinking about an upgrade!

Belgium is a small land, not with routes like US or CA lol... Then again it's "only" 3 or 4??? inch smaller (7.5-12cm) so phew.... almost hated myself hehehe...

I love my Rmax although I keep saying I do miss the ground clearance I had with my 2021 CanAm Maverick Sport XXC. i Mentioned that on a fb post to one of the Yamaha USA guys and they said they rarely bottom out on a Rmax...... again I love my Rmax and would never buy any other brand again but I think the Yamaha developer's should come up here to Ontario and ride some of our rocky trails ...lol

    I've had Yamahas in various forms since 1963. I never walked home due to a failure that could be attributed to the machine. A few flats and being caught in a cloud burst. But little else. I'm quite interested in this machine. Perhaps next spring.

    After spending the last year on a Yamaha Grizzly I have been considering purchasing a Yamaha SxS. I have never driven a SxS so I went to a local dealership today and test drove a 2024 X2. My impression was mostly negative. At first I thought the machine had problems because it would not move until the engine was revved up to 4k or 5k RPMs. Once it got rolling I felt like I had to keep the RPMs way up to gain any speed. It was pretty loud. At one point I had to stop and make sure I was not in low gear. I drove around a vacant lot with the engine screaming at what sounded like +4k or 5k RPMs and was only moving about 10 or 12 mph max. There is no way I could tolerate that for hours on end while trying to enjoy the Utah back country. I guess I really did not know what to expect and maybe a SxS isn't for me. They seem to be very useful machines, but I just did not feel connected to this one like I do the Yamaha 700 I ride almost every weekend. I just could not imagine trying to have a relaxing trail ride with all that noise and high RPMs. Seems really hard to finesse around / over obstacles since you are either revving at 5K or at a dead stop. They won't lug over stuff like a Yamaha 700 cc single will. Maybe I will go and try another machine just to make sure but at this point I could not justify the investment. Now I think I have a better understanding as to why SxS tear up the trails so badly. You have to rev the hell out of them to get any power.

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  8 місяців тому

      Literally sounds like you had the hand brake engaged. I'm not doubting your experience as that's the intention of testing a machine out and you did it the right way and now you know. That said, this does not mirror my experience in the X2 1000 SE.

    • @OHVLife
      @OHVLife 8 місяців тому +1

      @@dirttraxtv I double checked the hand brake, it was not engaged. Like I said, I had zero experience with SxS prior to this so maybe my expectations were naive. I'm goona try again before I write off a SxS purchase.

    I love the looks of the Yamaha Rmax, and this new X2 looks to be a winner. These Yamahas have a great look, top notch quality, good power and suspension. I was on the edge of buying one but as a taller guy with wide shoulders, the shoulder bolsters are just not good. they just make you feel cramped in the cab. I wish yamaha would incorporate them into a taller door design that would give your shoulders a couple extra inches of room.

    I test drove the 850 and 1000. Both nice machines for the price but I could not believe the cabin noise of the 1000 at any speed. The dealer recommended communicators, but im not sure I want to run them to talk to someone 18 inches away at 30kmph. That being said the 850 was a touch lame. Perhaps wait and hope yamaha addressesthis issue.
