Most hip hop scenes outside of the US are a lot closer to the indie/underground scenes from the older era, where things were a lot more about the standards of the culture. You call yourself the best, don't be afraid to go out and actually prove it on a regular basis. Certain cats like Mos and Lupe have shown they have no problem with it. Others, not so much....
