Stop blame Blizzard its a small indie company! How can you manage a 20 year old game with already finished functions so poorly. It's not like they're introducing something completely new. You only have to install ONLY 2 bg's that already exist into the new classic servers without burning the entire game down.
If blizzard were a plumber they would connect the shower to the toilet. How and why does this shit happen not once, not twice, three, four FIVE times now. That code seems to bleed over into other versions of wow? Im not a coding genius but can't code be put inside its own sealed section called CLASSIC and another called SOD which wont allow A N Y T H I N G to bleed into one another?
ofc you can. by having multiple clients. which means yes,you would need a completely different launcher etc. just like they have retail and classic separated. which means WAY more work,which is why they are not doing it. they want it to be piss easy for you to switch between the versions. but no,they have ONE client for all of classic. they just have multiple servers for it.
Problem is that if/when Blizzard tells us no game breaking items made it into anniversary, who’s going to believe them? If they tell us they’ve fixed the problem and cleaned up, who’s going to believe them?
logs don't lie. Anyone using a rank of spell unavailable on a server can easily be found within the logs. Anyone using it in a raid will show up on logs. Same for battleshout book.
People keep throwing around this 10k gold profit that apparently every AV person made. This is false. Even with an Onyxia Hide Bag and rest 16 slots, they only stack to 5. Even if a person went into two AV's before they closed them down, and assuming they filled up every bag slot in both AV's. Even selling a good portion for 7-9g per, they would make between 4k-6k gold. It's a far cry from 10k gold. Also Blizzard has stated they have no way to just magically roll back servers, they stated its not how the servers operate. Also while we are on the topic of debunking, no net new gold was introduced into the game. So this sudden belief that there is going to be rampant inflation. Calm down. Gold changed hands from player to player. Most of the gold came most likely from bots sniping. The buying power of one player transferred to another player. You may argue that any boons remaining will create a gold dump deficit for players. But that is assuming that each reboot does not contain the code to wipe this ID, and that every player will keep their chrono boons in constant mail limbo to protect them.
Interesting that SoD and this classic server can be merged like this. So that means, in the background, both version of the games uses same database and the code behind it is all connected to eachother. What I would expect, is that the Classic client would crash, when they get into bgs with SoD players. Since how can your client understand the code that the SoD client players have.
Umm.. When SoD came out.. THERE WERE RUINS ON ERA SERVERS! We already know that they are using the same client. Hints the tab of all 3. They've touched the servers that was not supposed to be touched. Boosting in SM changed in all 3 versions, I think it was druid that can use pole arms, Logout skips fixed/bugged other spots And list probably goes on
Yet again another reason why private servers are run better. Remember in wotlk clasic when they unlocked a ranked item on accident, took it away and then allowed people to keep it giving some players in ranked unfair advantage. Or how about the growing botpocalypse on all their servers? I've seen 1 bot on turtle wow in 2 weeks playtime. I feel blessed.
yeah, if you want a serious experience the private servers are indeed a better choice at this point. Only reason to play Blizz servers over pservers at this point is if you really care about ping that much (which really doesn't matter in PvE) or if you have friends playing there

I wouldn't be so quick to judge incompetence. Realistically the higher ups above the classic team are controlling their employee counts and budgets. Running on super thin time margins. The way Blizz is I doubt there's more than 15 people on the classic wow team, who maintain different versions and release cadence of everything on time at pace demanded by the higher ups meaning less quality control and more bugs. Worse, makes it even less likely bots will ever get meaningfully dealt with as they are likely a sizeable portion of the income classic wow is making.
Not possible to use it and put it back into regular boon? Been a while since I played so don't remember if you are able to do that but if so it might have been a possible workaround.
nothing changed bro. quests from future phases cant be completet as long as they are not released, so yeah you have the quest, but u cant finish. mages scrolls are useless. the only ppl who got bent over where the guys who bought chronos from the ah, the winners are the guys who sold the chronos for 1g instantly after they disabled the bgs. and thats it.
You know what funny i bought last night boones from ah for 1.2 g/each, and selling it today in city for 2g each, 1.5 and later 1 so i get rid of it, only bought for 150g. Selling it thro chat i get mass reports and get banned for 7 days. Trying right now to refer, but getting answer from bots with some policy sheet links. Whats funny that i watched today big steamers clip buying it in av for 20s and selling 500+ in ah , and gues thay ok with that great comapny.
I'm not sure how it messes up the economy, I'm missing something maybe? But players dumped a lot of gold by buying them and all the gold "generated" is gold traded from player to player, so it's not like how it was in SoD phase 3 where the gold was generated by NPCs, this is gold being shifted around the playerbase rather than generation.
i wished you stfu about rollbacks, some of us were doing other content. Just perma ban everyone involved in this and job done, cheaters should be dealt with. Thats how you send a message for future problems, people wont get involved if there was proper punishment.

The greatest mess up in this situation is the fact that they didn't do rollback immediately.
Easy to say roll back when you weren’t on and making progress on your character without exploiting anything.
Bliss has said before they don’t have the ability to do rollbacks, they’re servers don’t work like that

If top guilds are holding something back, Warcraft logs will just invalidate anything that uses an exploit.
