@@KritterXD I think the problem I have with this version of the test was that it kinda took away from Nynaeve's strength of will. She didn't turn her back on her dream family to be there for her real friends. Instead she didn't go through the door until it was really her only option, and she still tried to bring part of that dream back with her. In the books she turns her back on the what could be so that she can be there for her friends. I still think the test was good but I think changing it the way they did took something away from it.
@KritterXD keep it up! I won't pretend as a ~25 year fan of WoT that this is exactly what I had expected/hoped for, but I can 100% say that after Brandon took over and I watched his entire BYU lit series, I understood so much better what authors are trying to do. While there are still some choices I need payoff from, I'm trying not to denounce the choices before seeing the payoff, I can understand people railing against Steppin, it was my 2nd favorite episode of S1 because of how much it set up.
Another Elayne moment that I absolutely adored was her offering to get pillows and blankets so that she could support Egwene bearing watch for Nynaeve in the Accepted chamber.
The show has non-book readers guessing who is a Darkfriend. I love this take on the Forsaken, Ishi does feel formidable. And most of all I like that we are getting book dialog and plot reimagined.
It's hard to pick a favorite thing about the season, but I think it's how much better channeling looks and the better explanations of the magic system. It's so integral to everything in the story. I loved the test, Perrin and Hopper, and Mat and Min. I don't like Lan and Moiraine's relationship, but I think that's the point. There were elements of tension between them in The Great Hunt, and that's been heightened here. I think this can be saved by how it might pay off. For example, this storyline and the arc of Alanna and her warders could all be leading up to something that happens in the books.
I love rand saying he can't forget which calls back to Thom's song from s1. She says when she's with him to remember. Just such an interesting juxtaposition
Tnx for what and how you commented on Mat having VERY minimal screentime up to now! I could not have said it better and as polite as you! 👌 Even if that’s done on purpose to let him shine in the end I find that a difficult decision, because you have to like him first to be happy for him to overcome his misery secondly…
Accepted test was amazing. Better than expected, and I had high hopes. Also, all the "blood" lines were delivered wonderfully. And yep, Woflie communcition was perfectly done.
Oh, and on Uno, I'm happy they didn't hold back with the way he died. It was awful. But I think that was good. It wasn't just monsters in the dark, it was humans doing this, and they didn't hold back.
The thing I don't understand is why they won't take 5 minutes and explain what the Forsaken are and which subset they're using for the show. It would be common knowledge among the Aes Sedai and of critical importance to bringing the ta'veren up to speed.
It's too damn short. I think every problem can be boiled down to that. Why couldn't they make it 12 episodes? They are already spending plenty, but nowhere near that crap, Rings of Power.
Though Mattias hinted at it when Hopper revealed his name to Perrin, he didn't really finish it out the way they describe themselves. Much like the Inuit having 15 different words for snow. Yes, Uno's death was unexpected, and I wonder who will fill all his comedic relief. I have to agree that Elayne's performance has been perfect, and the actor change for Matt has been pretty seamless. I have to say that Moiraine's rescue at the end was my high. She tracked that boy down like a bounty hunter and arrived just in time to save his puppy dog butt. I have been struggling to find a real low as the season has been a real treat so far. Maybe Lan and Moiraine's relationship. I know she needed to free herself up to find Rand, but think she was a little heavy handed, even though her comment, "We were never equals." could easily have two meanings. Maybe she can't lie still, but boy, can she twist the truth.
I think Alanna is going to play a huge role in Rand's sanity. That's why we are getting so many scenes with her, just like Liandrin gets a lot of screen time because she will become important as the story unfolds.
I think they're merging Aes Sedai characters to promote single entities and give the actors a long term Arc. Alanna will be more of an ally and I doubt will forcibly bond Rand. Liandrin will take over the Alivarin role until it's too difficult to stay in post and she will run. I doubt she'll be the head of the black and likely that will be replaced by a forsaken. Mhoggy maybe...?
@@LeeTurnock-zy2dg I agree with this. It's now pretty clear that Liandrin and Alanna are intended to stay relevant in the series all the way to the end or at least most of the way. They will take over the roles of minor characters where required.
Biggest disappointment was definitely Mat leaving the Tower without first beating Galad/Gawyn. One of the best scenes in the early books (though, one scene’s that’s better and can really make it break the season depending on how it’s done is “Five will ride forth,” which needs to be an epic scene with epic music blasting and Rand riding into battle flanked by Mat with the Horn and Perrin waving the banner, and I assume Ingtar and Elyas, since they replaced Hurin with him). I absolutely loved what they did with Nyneve’s testing, and Egwene/Elayne’s blossoming friendship. Nothing against Barney Harris, but Donal Finn’s Mat (I agree we need more of him) has really felt more like the Mat I imagined from the first few books, which I think reflects the better writing for the character
Are those seals on your nails? What a great idea! Let's hope they're unbreakable now ;-) My favourite moments: scenes with kids and older people like the farmstead of Alan'as family, scenes with Errol and Morgain's sister. And Hopper! Least favourite moments: those that are so ambiguous that you don't know what's going on like Moiraine being rude, Lan being lost or Selene and Rand sleeping(?) together but maybe not sleeping together. I like knowing what I'm watching in the emotional sense. Suspense is good but in a factual way, not like "what the heck is all that actually supposed to be?".
Uno's death is high on my list of favorites because it was so unexpected for us bookies. The accepted test hit hard, and Hopper and the wolves was a pleasure. I very much like how they're approaching wolfspeak. The whole Lan thing has been painful to watch. I keep thinking it is time that could have been used for Mat. The non-book reader reactions I've watched have all liked Lan's arc, so goes to show what I know. What am I looking forward to in the second half? Fighting in the sky over Falme! Although in my head, Lorne Balfe's score will be replaced by Ghost Riders In The Sky.
Zoe Robins has been absolutely incredible this season. She made me cry multiple time, even when she was just reading Perrin's letter, it was heartbreaking. Uno was definitely a shock. Much as I hate them, I'd love more explanation of the Seanchan and the damane/sul'dam relationship (though we'll probably get that in the next 2 episodes). So far, I'm LOVING this season. I'm also LOVING YOUR NAILS!
Ahhh thank you! I actually just did a TikTok kinda explaining the Seanchan because one of my non-readers friends was really confused about them. Hopefully they give us a little more on their backstory soon!
I'm with you all the way. Focus, focus. 10/12 episodes would be great? We could have so much more of the boys then. Though I do love that they're giving us a full hour. Great work.
yeah really enjoying this season but there just isn't enough time. things are just getting good and there's only 3 episodes left? its just not enough. they need to do 10 eps
Agree with you on Nynaeve's accepted test being the highlight of the show so far. Second favourite moment was hopper and perrin, my partner was laughing at me as she didn't understand why i got emotional seeing a dog!, but- needs far more time with them. Loved the seanchan scenes as well. Low points for me were the alanna / warder scenes as well, they have taken up far too much screen time and i don't understand the amount of time dedicated to what is essentially filler. Overall though i am enjoying the show and enjoyed the review.
It looks like they're trying to make the audience second guess who a dark friend is. Selene - quaint love interest turned forsaken.. Liandrin - dominant but caring are sedai towards Nynaeve. Then tunnel air bending psycho.. Mat - Rands supposed friend but a premonition of using a dagger to kill him.. Min - desperate prisoner turned patsy who is being coerced to the dark and I'm Ishy's sight.. I think it's bent to deal with the certain individual on the hunt for Fain and the handover by a certain braided person of some "powerful cargo" Last season = who is the dragon reborn This season = who is the darkfriend
I'm sure Mat's storyline will pick up once they are able to get past the rewrites from Barney leaving. Originality he would have been with them in Fal Dara and would probably have been with Perrin or the Tower at the start of season 2. Min leaving Fal Dara in episode 8 probably wouldn't have happened either so she could have been with them earlier. That or she would have gone with the girls to the tower.
I love the Nynaeve focus, and how clearly the show seems to understand her. Her "you're not the boss of me 😠" stubbornness drives her to challenge death and work miracles... and also to do stupidly self-destructive things like drink dirty dishwater. 😬 I love her so much. I can't wait to see her and Elayne bounce off each other. Rand working at the sanatorium was really compelling for me, and I think it was important for his long term character arc. We're going to see so much of him becoming ruthless, being traumatized, trying to harden himself against the weight of being the Dragon Reborn - I think the show is trying to hammer home, BEFORE all that, what Rand's real nature is. He cares about people. He's a nurturer. He's gentle to people who are hurting. It's going to hurt us more, and make a better story, when we know exactly what he's losing (and having tortured out of him). 😭 I'm really enjoying Alanna, Lan, and the Warders! I want "the triumph of the Light over the Dark - and dessert after" to be my new motto. I was spellbound throughout, and not *just* because Alanna sets my queer heart atwitter. 😆 I think every bit of Aes Sedai/Warder/Tower politics worldbuilding we're getting is essential, and we were shown in season 1 that they intended to bring all of that forward several books and *not* focus solely on the Two Rivers group. It may be different from TGH as written, but it's definitely true to the series as a whole, and even an upgrade IMO. Warder perspectives were painfully absent in the books, and I very much want to know how the upcoming schism will affect them. Ishamael and Lanfear are both terrifying! They really got a lot of spectacular actors for their villains in this show, I gotta say. From Padan Fain to Liandrin to the Father of Lies himself, they went for maximum charisma and confidence.
Ooh, the way you've laid out the peculiarity of what they're doing with Lan & Moiraine is one of my main theories: Those two MUST be putting on a show. Lan being the "forlorn, adrift Warder" getting a closer peek at who's trustworthy & what plans are in motion via his kinship with other Warders and seeming "bondably on the market." Moiraine being "too despondent to communicate & operate effectively" -- That's a move they'd make to try to seem like a key powerpair within the Aes Sedai ranks had been neutralized. It fits perfectly with them not fully conveying to show viewers who/what Lan is yet, and with some of this not making sense bond-wise (nobody living would be certain what being cut off in combat would feel like to a Warder). It's not *completely* a lie b/c Moiraine can't totally misrepresent her situation, but they may be massively playing it up to their advantage.
Favourite moment: Liandrin's manipulation, is she good in this turning?, no she's evil. I like her but I wanna hate her. Least favourite so far: Lan's story not going anywhere and how M is treating him. Get the power duo back on track. I also want the em5 to reunite at Falme and I am loving that Avi is coming on Friday :) I Also want Mat to get his luck going and becoming the powerful character that he is. (Loving Donal as Mat)
Mat's had some really enjoyable moments for me so far. I've really liked his prodding at Liandrin in the cell, his interactions with Min are wonderful, and he comes across as quite sympathetic. I don't think I liked him much at all at this stage in the books. After Liandrin absolutely demolished his self-esteem, I really want to see him now come into his own and have some hero moments, for himself as well as for others!
Agreed with almost everything you said and will double-down on the Alana-Warders thing. I think it reduces the importance of the battle ajah and turns it into a punchline rather than the fighting vanguard of the Aes Sedai. I get that non-book readers need their perv fix, but these women are very important to the last battle. Besides, we have Graendel for those folks anyway 😄😉. I know it's early to talk about episode 5, but I had a thought last night that brought me out of sleep thinking about the Whitetower-3 and where they're probably going to wake up and why in episode 5...not good. UPDATE- No sooner than posting my idea and they just posted clip of episode 5 confirming it!😢
There is a lot going on in the books. Going to enjoy to see how they put it to film. So far, I love it. But I do get the feeling they are on a budget. Where she says "All Will Bow" She is the queen and has a huge army, this scene makes it look like a small group of invading army.
Suroth is not a queen but you're right, as the commander over the Hailene she should be overseeing thousands of soldiers, not a force of 50. This would've been more like her personal guard and I can't imagine she would be going to villages to actually get some work done. In the books this kind of work was beneath her.
Your exactly right. I read this series probably 25-30 years ago. Sent the collection of books to a friends wife who later told me it was her best reading ever. I slowly purchased the collection again and look so forward to re-read.
@@Itchy1958 seeing the trailer for ep5 got me thinking that the whole capturing of the village by Suroth was actually a chance encounter on her way to meet Liandrin so she was travelling light. It just makes no sense for Suroth to go pacify villages. I actually have been introduced to the series by a friend some 15 years ago. Also found it one of the best reads and last year I went through the audiobooks and I loved it as well. I remember waiting for the last book to drop like it was actually a major event for me that year. Have you read other books by Jordan and Sanderson?
As someone who hasn't read the books, I have mixed feelings about the way Moraine & Lan are being handled (I'm mostly cool with everything else). I get showcasing Moraine as being in some ways overconfident, and certainly overly self-reliant, as that seems to be one of bigger flaws at least in how she's portrayed in the show. But at the same time, I had a hard time believing that these two who have been partners for twenty years would resort to squabbling like they were after just a few months of no Bond (like Lan's "make dinner yourself" line felt especially weird to me). But at the same time, I get that the showrunners are trying to put some distance between them early on for a payoff towards the end of the season, and I can respect that. I also really like the stuff with Lan and Alanna's troop, even if it does perhaps take up more screentime than is necessary, I think it's good character development for Lan and a good way to expand on how different people handle being a Warder.
you have a very refreshing take and i totally agree. i would love to see more focus on the EF5 and less on the supporting characters (atleast for now). I really loved the perrin/elyas/hopper scene, like you my face hurt afterwards from smiling so big, its prob one of my top scenes in the show so far. And for my least fav scene i think its gotta be the end of ep1, when moiraine sneaked off alone in the middle of night and got attacked by the fades. then gets brought back and healed, and then she just leaves again anyway lol. so that made the fade fight seem meaningless and low stakes, like they just needed an action scene so fug it toss a couple fades at Lan... overall tho ive been massively enjoying season 2, also give it 2 thumbs up
The fade scene felt like it was a nod to the dragkhar scene in TgH so I didn’t mind at all that it didn’t advance the plot or anything. It was just fun 😅
I like most of this season so far. I squealed happily for Hopper in the last episode, even though Perrin isn't one of my favourite characters (the rescue part of the books I was always disappointed when it went back to Perrin). Things I don't like... NOT ENOUGH MAT!!!! Mat & Min are two of my favourites in the books. Donal has been doing great as Mat, but there hasn't been enough of him. Too much Lan/Alanna/Warders [and Lan vs Moiraine]... I've found these scenes to long and draggy so far. They could have been shortened quite a bit and been just as effective. I wonder if certain actors just need to have a certain number of hours screen time in a season... I'm hoping Lan will meet up with Rand and Moiraine in Cairhein and spend some time teaching Rand the sword... he needed it.
They're making Moraine take on Rand tendencies pushing Lan away like Rand did with Perrin & Mat in TGH. Matrim doesn't start being really Mat until TSR, so hopefully we get to see that soon. I'm so mad that we're not getting 16-24 hours per season for this show! As long as I get to see Zöe with ki'sain approach a nationless trader, hear her ask, and hear him swear "under the Light and by my hope of rebirth and salvation", then I will be satisfied. I just hope they do more to earn it than the Lan+Nyn+💍 scene in season one
Heartily agree on Lan NEEDING to be a father figure to Rand and teach him the sword over the next half of the episodes. This and the entire last episode of S1 are my biggest concerns in the entire series so far. We're losing so much fatherly mentorship in the series that was a nice counterpart to the motherly mentorship of the super girls in the first few books.
The only thing I do not like is Lan's story line this season (well, since S1 E8, too) - if he was not in the show, would it even matter at this point? What a waste of a good character. I do like that the split them up sooner than in the books to give the each their own story arc and development, but some have been not fully explored as much as needed (ie: Perrin, Matt, and Rand beyond being a boy-toy). My hope is that in the second half of the season we spend more time on those characters, have a payoff to the lame Lan story that at least can be somewhat justified. And a lot more Seanchan... like a lot more (they are crazy scary). Also, anyone missing the Whitecloaks yet? You know they are gonna show up. Overall, this season has been so much better than season 1, and overall, really good TV. I give it 2 thumbs and 1 big toe up!
Agreed, mostly! But I wonder if you might be viewing the TGH dynamics between Lan and Moiraine through rose tinted glasses. On my recent reread I was struck by how rude she was in their scenes together at Vandene and Adeleas's house. She's nearly as rude as in the show. And I don't think it really fully abated going forward after those scenes either, because it's not like she budged on the bond transfer issue. Yes, it's been worse in the show, but how much of that is just from Pike and Henney being foregrounded? And how much is because - unlike in the books, where she's "just" had to confront her mortality and maybe has heard some bad omens from Min - in the show, she's going through a whole lot more than what she did in TGH? So, I'm curious what you think. Have you reread TGH recently or is this maybe stuff you don't remember as well? How much of the book/show difference is just disliking this behavior from Moiraine in general, rather than real unfaithfulness to the books?
I’ve reread pretty recently actually! I have a first-time reader series I’m doing and I chatted with her right after finishing the great hunt which was…just a few months back I think? I recall them bickering about the possible bond transfer and whatnot but it was more two-sided and also bordered on affectionate at times. At least that’s how I’m recalling it, I could definitely be wrong. I’m currently on Fires of Heaven so I’ve read a couple books since then.
@@KritterXD ok, you're probably actually fresher than I am; I was rereading to catch up with Wheel Takes and am now current with them. I just remember feeling shocked at how rude Moiraine was out of nowhere, but maybe the tone is more like you said. I'm still hoping that the whole Lan/Moiraine thing is a WAFO, and will all make sense in retrospect.
Do you also think when she's talking to Logain and the draw to use the dagger she's also drawing upon a personal urge herself? I think show Moiraine is currently in real personal turmoil and they need to resolve the shield/stilled issue this season.
@@LeeTurnock-zy2dg I think she’s definitely speaking from experience. As a Blue focused on getting the Dragon to the last battle, though, I don’t think she’s a real threat to herself (aside from general recklessness like taking on a Forsaken with a knife 😅)
I've definitely enjoyed Season 2 more than Season 1 so far, but I'm starting to realize I'm probably not going to get a lot of the moments I loved from the books. Shouldn't we have seen Gawyn & Galad by now or am I remembering the timeline wrong?
We met them in Caemlyn in book 1 and again on the warder training grounds in book 3. Like Elyas tho I see their introduction maybe just getting shifted around to account for the needs of the story as they’re telling it in this turning. Season 3 hopefully!
Liandrin's son reveal was my favorite moment of this season. Kate killing it again with a visceral performance. Nynaeve's distress leaving the third arch was also superb emotional acting. (E4 of S1 is still my overall favorite episode of the show. Lanaeve scenes (and Zoe/Daniels performance in them) are just tops for me and that episode had them in spades, plus the most draw-dropping ending of any show in years, IMHO). Agreed the Morraine/Lan dysfunction has been dragged out far too long to the detriment of other threads that could have been developed. Also, all the RandSelene sexytime is pretty tedious, I get it, they're getting jiggy, who cares. (but I'm always bored with TV having to stick sex and relationships into everything)
I disagree that Moiraine is acting out of character in S2. She was secretive and manipulative like a typical Cairheinen in the books as well but her targets for that manipulation in the books were the Two Rivers boys. Since the show writers decided to split the boys up in S2 they simply transferred her manipulations to Lan instead. It just seems to be against her character because of the changed target.
I'm hoping they don't make Matt any darker. He's my favorite so his story is extremely important to me. Changes have been made and more will come I know but I'm a fan of both but I like my heroes heroic
i mean, if Lan follows Moiraine, which is blue ajah (spymaster), he would not be mopping up tears for moiraine or that shameful "prepare your own meal"... book lan would be like "yea, i'l be kingly quiet here, yea, i'm awesome without saying anything, i'll follow moiraine to the grave" you know
The craziest thing about season two for me is how bad it makes the S1 costumes look. I remember when I watched the first season, I thought they were jaw dropping. But ever since season 2's been out they just look so costumey to me!
I loved every second of season 2 so far. I'm only a bit concerned as a book reader because I know about the upcoming epic moments that the writers wont be able to leave out or change much, even if they tried. Most of these include our main two rivers characters, and I'm afraid that they are not getting enough time to develop their characters for those moments to hit as hard as they do in the books.
I have a feeling my fave is going to go THROUGH it and they’re going to make us feel it. One of the episodes is titled “damane” after all. But just generally “not enough time” is definitely a fear I have going forward. Hoping they pull it off!
This show has such potential and it feels like theyre getting back on track. I feel like theyve nailed the female characters but they seem to be missing the mark with the boys. Is it screen time, being too passive with them, not understanding how to nail them? I dont know. Its not the actors though theyre all amazing.
So great to watch a book lover appreciate the show as I do. We definitely are on the same page !! Favorite part of season 2 was definitely the arches & Nyneave. I like the way they introduced Elayne. Kate Fleetwoods portrayal of Liandrian is Emmy worthy. I've read these books over a 28 year period and Perrin and Nyneave are my two most favorite characters. I like Matt's arch as well just not as much as Perrin. I was wondering how the production team was going to handle the Magic system, the Dream world and the Wolf Brothers communication and a few other things I don't want to spoil.. But so far it is meeting my expectations. There is some great Lore videos coming out on Wizards and Warriors UA-cam @WizardsandWarriors How the men Broke the World and The Trolloc Wars
My favourite part is everything except the Moiraine and Lan shit, and I love all of it. My least favourite part is that we’re literally wasting time on useless and uninteresting Moiraine and Lan shit.
@@KritterXD Obviously one of Lan's greatest regrets was not teaching Rand how to use that beautifully crafted Heron marked sword. Now that he has had a moment to process Rand is still alive, he can pull his sh*t together and go find the boy for some much needed training.
I agree he is a bit too passive, though in the books I remember he often didn't insert himself into political situations. He was more of the strong silent type
Nynaeve doesn't have a tragic back story. yes her mom passed away when she was young but from normal causes, her father a tabac grower treated her as a son. teaching her to track, fish and hunt, which she uses those skills to do some important things. ntm some major cannon breaking happened. it was never known that nynaeve used channeling to reopen and leave, by having them shut down the test and egwene and elayne discover she comes back they are breaking major cannon, she would never have been allowed to leave it would have shook the Aes sedai to the core.
Favourite moment (as a book reader): Nyneave's accepted test. Least favourite moment (as a book reader): al'Lan Mandragoran needs to be educated on being a warder. Favourite moment (standalone): Alanna's channeling lesson. Least favourite moment (standalone): Logain knows Rand's home address - actually everything in that scene was a massive failure of show don't tell for me. Best character: Liandrin. Brilliant performance! Worst character: Egwene. She's been made into comic relief, and I'm still trying to figure out why she confronted Liandrin in episode 3. My current rating for this season is 5/10. But maybe my bias is showing.
I watched 1st season and then had to read the entire series to remind myself how much i loved Mat and forget the abomination in the series... not watching again
How did Moiraine find Rand and Lanfear in a random cabin in the mountains when she doesn't have any access to the source? There are too many of these examples that pull me completely out of the story. I'm coming to terms with the "adaptation" and the grounding rules of the books being changed, but there are too many examples of bad story telling. Really the only thing I enjoy are the little book call outs and scenes and that makes me sad.
She was on the trail all episode, consulting eyes and ears and whatnot. Honestly my non-book-reader friends wasn’t surprised at all when she showed up. She was way less surprised than me at least 😅
The Tower stuff, Rand’s arc, Moiraine with Bayle Domon and Verin and in Carhien, Perrin’s stuff, and the little we’ve got of Mat and Min I’ve really enjoyed. The filler scenes with Lan have been incredibly boring and desperately needed for the boys. If they want Moiraine and Lan to have lots of screen time then they need to reunite them with one or more of the protagonists (which finally seems like it’s happening) because these little satellite plots are distracting from the meaty stuff. Saying that I’m stoked for these next episodes, can’t wait to see how things unfold!
Same for me - e.g. it feels like Selene barges into Rand's room just seconds after he set the roof on fire. It's like some scences for the in between are missing. Like Moiraine meeting with another of her Eyes and Ears or someone watching Selene and Rand on their way to Kinslayer Valley.
Uhhm, every single character? Every one of them is a unrecognizable wretch, nothing about them but their names match. Not even the world building matches up. They could change the name of the show and places and characters and have published it as an original and plagiarism claims would be dismissed before going to trial.@@KritterXD
As a fan of the books, I strongly disagree with all your points stated in this video, each, and everyone of them in my opinion, ruins the books, and does not turn this into an adaptation of them, but an assassination of them.
Zoe and her portrayal in the accepted test was incredible. The emotional portrayal really captures the trauma of the tests
Totally agreed. Many trophies and much admiration from me
They are kinda doing the storyline for him from later in the books when he is passive until he isn't.
The non-verbal acting particularly just blew me away.
My favorite moments. Lanfear talking about her ex to Rand. That was pure gold. Close second accepted test. My least favorite is the Lan thing
She is unhinged lol
@@KritterXD more like obsessed, we all understand that she was trying to get Rand to fall in love with her?
Happy to have found you from the Dusty Wheel! Love your takes and everything so far, you're really good as a WoT CC!
Wow thank you so much 💙
@KritterXD keep it up!
You absolutely need to to a combined episode with Daniel Greene. Your discussions around what you like/dislike would be facinating!
Daniel’s a good guy. This would be a fun chat for sure.
Another Elayne moment that I absolutely adored was her offering to get pillows and blankets so that she could support Egwene bearing watch for Nynaeve in the Accepted chamber.
A ride or die friend 💙
The show has non-book readers guessing who is a Darkfriend. I love this take on the Forsaken, Ishi does feel formidable. And most of all I like that we are getting book dialog and plot reimagined.
It's hard to pick a favorite thing about the season, but I think it's how much better channeling looks and the better explanations of the magic system. It's so integral to everything in the story. I love rand saying he can't forget which calls back to Thom's song from s1. She says when she's with him to remember. Just such an interesting juxtaposition
Ooh such a good catch!
Tnx for what and how you commented on Mat having VERY minimal screentime up to now! I could not have said it better and as polite as you! 👌
Even if that’s done on purpose to let him shine in the end I find that a difficult decision, because you have to like him first to be happy for him to overcome his misery secondly…
@@jasonlotito good but so sad 🥲
The thing I don't understand is why they won't take 5 minutes and explain what the Forsaken are and which subset they're using for the show. It would be common knowledge among the Aes Sedai and of critical importance to bringing the ta'veren up to speed.
Perrin and Elyss are good, but because of the shortness of the show, as I said above, we needed way more than 3 minutes with them at one time.
Agreed. More wolf time is required
If we don't get a Lan and Rand training montage we riot!!
I think Alanna is going to play a huge role in Rand's sanity. That's why we are getting so many scenes with her, just like Liandrin gets a lot of screen time because she will become important as the story unfolds.
Interesting! I don’t think I’ve heard this take on Alanna!
@@KritterXD okay, maybe keeping Rand's sanity is too strong a word. I meant to say she has big roles to play all the way to the last battle.
I think we’ll still get the G&G&M scene…just maybe not this season!
@@KritterXD If we get the scene, I reserve the right to no longer consider it my biggest disappointment
They are seals 😅. Fingers crossed they last me a long time lol.
I reaallllllllyyyyy hope we get the sky battle 🤞🤞🤞
If it doesn't happen...we riot! I'm right there on this.
Great work.
You hear that Prime Video?! MORE EPISODES!!
yeah really enjoying this season but there just isn't enough time. things are just getting good and there's only 3 episodes left? its just not enough. they need to do 10 eps
Thoroughly enjoying this show…love Moraine’s “John wick” moment 😃
SAME
Agree with you on Nynaeve's accepted test being the highlight of the show so far.
Honestly, you and I have very similar opinions about this season so far. GIVE US MORE MAT!!! I am super curious what they're going to do with Min too.
Mat is a unreliable looser and a thief, Min is a dark friend, not sure what you expect from these trash writers.
I think it's bent to deal with the certain individual on the hunt for Fain and the handover by a certain braided person of some "powerful cargo"
Last season = who is the dragon reborn
This season = who is the darkfriend
I can't wait to see Uno as a Hero of the Horn (I hope).
Hard same
@@KritterXDI guessed the actor got another job and had to leave.
Only thing from the test that was missing, that you know what I'm going to say... lol.. "Be steadfast"
BE MFING STEADFAST 😂😭
I'm sure Mat's storyline will pick up once they are able to get past the rewrites from Barney leaving. Originality he would have been with them in Fal Dara and would probably have been with Perrin or the Tower at the start of season 2. Min leaving Fal Dara in episode 8 probably wouldn't have happened either so she could have been with them earlier. That or she would have gone with the girls to the tower.
Loving so many things this season!!! Just need more time with all 5 of our besties from the Two Rivers.
I love the Nynaeve focus, and how clearly the show seems to understand her. Her "you're not the boss of me 😠" stubbornness drives her to challenge death and work miracles... and also to do stupidly self-destructive things like drink dirty dishwater. 😬
I love her so much.
I'm really enjoying Alanna, Lan, and the Warders!
Considering they cut Aginor and Balthamel, the stuffing of a forsaken soul into a stolen body isn't as prevalent.
UPDATE- No sooner than posting my idea and they just posted clip of episode 5 confirming it!😢
Great video!!
Thank you!!
@@KritterXD ooh i hadnt thought about that, makes me wonder if we'll get dragkhar in the show!
Okay I see what you’re hinting at with Uno! Girl, SAME
I like most of this season so far.
My partner's favourite plots are the White Tower stuff and Lan's. He is a non book reader.
Some of my friends are like this too lol
The acting in this season is just superb. Kate and Zoe are titans!
Great review missy🍻
I wanna see avenanda a lot and min fighting against liking rand and mat gambling
So excited for these next episodes. Let’s bring the gang together and kick a$$. Maybe Moraine‘s if she keeps being mean to Lan. ❤

Hoping the boys get some real time in the spotlight in the second half

My favourite part is everything except the Moiraine and Lan shit, and I love all of it. My least favourite part is that we’re literally wasting time on useless and uninteresting Moiraine and Lan shit.
I’m disappointed in how Lan is portrayed , he’s too passive.
I mention in here I’m hoping he’ll become more himself in the second half of the season!
I agree I always had Lan pegged as a cross between Aragorn and Geralt of Rivia. Sincerely hoping we get his character arc on track !
Like Moiraine meeting with another of her Eyes and Ears or someone watching Selene and Rand on their way to Kinslayer Valley.
haven't read the books, man this show is boring af.........slow.....illogical....and just a HUGE chore. My gf loved the books, so fml.
to each their own, but self insertion fan-fiction genre brought to film is not my jam.
I’m mildly curious-who’s the self-insert in WoT according to you?
Uhhm, every single character? Every one of them is a unrecognizable wretch, nothing about them but their names match.
Not even the world building matches up. They could change the name of the show and places and characters and have published it as an original and plagiarism claims would be dismissed before going to trial.@@KritterXD
@@mgntstr cool so…who inserted themselves into every single character? Just trying to clarify lol
everyone! All the writers are having an insert orgy.@@KritterXD
As a fan of the books, I strongly disagree with all your points stated in this video, each, and everyone of them in my opinion, ruins the books, and does not turn this into an adaptation of them, but an assassination of them.
Sorry you feel that way
I didn't like BookMin at all anyway, but I hate DarkMin even more... that is all.
