I did this to my 4 channel amp that’s goes to my 2 rca head unit. Seeing my head unit only had left/right, I put my front rca’s to the left and the back rca’s to the right. So I was able to fade from front to rear by using the balancing adjustment.
Also as FYI, by doing this you lose the ability to fade/move/balance the audio from front to back. Also use caution that the RCA at the back of the radio isn’t for subwoofer only.👍🏼
Damn so it would just stay balanced in the middle? I drive a single cab and the speakers behind my seats are dog shit and I usually have it balanced closer to the front to account for it.
@mr.duckybeatsbruh9173 1st thing is replacing those junky rear speakers, but installing a 4ch amp from a 2 ch radio just means adjusting the Gain properly so it's to your liking 👍

I'm still confused on how to plug them in if I'm coming from a +(red) do I plug the 2 male ends both into the +(red)on the amp which are both + Right/1front, 1 Rear? Or both to right which would be a + from stereo going to a + and - R,L/front only on amp & then the other 2 from stereo - to + and - R,L/Rear ?? My are all right next to eachother in the square of all 4 not spread like his. I can't see the colors he's plugging them into. I think coming from a + you plug both only to a + even though the splitter Is 2 colors idk uhg and the splitters I found are not red and black they're blue and grey.

The head unit can only send signal to 2 speakers but the amplifier can send it to 4 speakers. This distributes the signal from 2 channels to four. But it is not true stereo.
@@beastmode2990 you can get the signal from two rca and send it to an amp that powers 4 speakers. But you cannot separate the speakers from front to back. Just left to right. If you wire the speakers through the harness then it’ll power however many speakers the OEM radio connects to.

Walmart has a pack that has 2 in it both different so one has to be the correct way. Either 1 female to 2 male (which is usually the right one coming from a stereo) OR 1 male to 2 female. So you would need 2 packs to get the 2 matching what you need then your gona have 2 left over you dont use but theyre only like $4 each. Why doesn’t the left and right stay left and right? You made left a channel and right a channel. Shouldn’t you have a left and right perspective channel?

You said channels 1/2 on amp is right and channels 3/4 is left on amp.... but in this video you connected left channel from head unit into "Y" cable right 1/2 and right channel from head unit into "Y" cable left 3/4.. ??!! WTH man?...
Take some wire preferably 2-8 guage for subs and run it from the amps back side (this is the front in the video) to the subwoofer negative and positive there will be positive and negative holes with screws to hold them for each channel

The best way is put the 2 black to 1 channel and 2 clear(brown) to the 2nd channel.
Does this keep the fader/balance feature if you do it this way?

Awesome 👍 info. This helped clear some questions that I had about wiring a 4 channel amp to an older deck.

Connect rca's from front output of radio to amp using Y cables for your 4 speakers in car..

That is not a true “bridge”.
All you are doing is separating the channels from the head unit, but not “bridging” the amplifier.
So no subwoofer this way💀 bro just get a decent headunit
