Modern Stance in Goaltending

The stance is one of the most important pieces to a goaltnder's game and is one of the things most adjusted by goaltending coaches. Let me be very clear, there are many ways to play the game but this IS the "rail and brail" in the foundation with the links to puck trajectory, tracking and equipment assignments.

That’s an excellent comment and yes, young athletes always start off by trying to mimic their heroes. It is the Goalie coaches responsibility to help them, find their style based on their body, their strengths and exposed weaknesses.

I find every new or inexperienced goalie wants to stand like a cardboard cutout. Also with younger goalies they have a mentality that their skates need to be dull. When it’s the opposite now in order to get into a more aggressive stance.

Hey Rex, thank you so much for your feedback. I really appreciate that that is a still photo from one of my presentations so when I actually deliver the presentation, it's one step at a time and it's not usually not crammed up in five or six minute presentation, but thank you so much for your feedback
