120hz alone is the biggest reason me including most of my friends and couple of my colleagues upgraded to it.. even my not so tech savvy mother is wanting to get rid of her 12 Pro after trying it haha...
The 120Hz was very noticeable for me and it's noticeable when I switch from 120Hz to 60Hz (like when turning on battery saver mode) but that might be because I've been using 120/144Hz gaming monitors since 2013 so I might be used to the higher refresh rate because of that so I would say that feature was pretty worth it for me but I can see that if you don't notice it, then it's not necessary (my sister didn't notice it)
LOL yeah idk what this guy in the video is talking about. I upgraded from a Iphone 8 plus to the 13 pro max and after 1 week of using, when I tried using the 8 plus again it gave me a headache. The difference is HEAVELY noticeable
Most people can feel the difference as well and slowed down you can see frame skips on the 60hz and it feels butter smooth on 120Hz..Some people can see it some cant..They not the same by far Example ive messed around with a S21 with standard 60hz vs adaptive 120hz and it shows by far the 120hz is smoother. Scrolling between both the 60fps skips alot
I’d have to agree with everyone here. I recently upgraded from the X to 13Pro and instantly noticed a difference. That being said, for someone who does tech reviews, I can see how a lot of reviewers aren’t as impressed with yearly updates, whereas people that don’t upgrade every new phone will notice newer features and appreciate them more than others. Between the display, the camera and the battery life and 5G, this phone is a beast.
I love the 120Hz display on mine. It’s very noticeable when you turn on low power mode and it ramps it down to 60Hz max. The cameras are amazing for landscapes but still not there for photographing kids running around at family gatherings or anything thats fast paced. RAW is insane. Last time I used raw in a phone was LG G2, but that sensor was not good enough, so it would just result in more noise that I had to filter out. Here it’s giving me epic results. Battery is decent switching from an 11pro. Phone is heavy, but I like it that way. I like the camera bump. If it annoys someone use a case.
I just got my 13 pro max and it’s killer! It’s my first iPhone ever! I did get the 128gb model but I really don’t mind bc I prefer to use my actual camera for photos and videos (well whenever I actually get my desired video camera) This phone has a beast of a battery, after 1 work day with lots of location on I was at 64 percent after 4 1/2 screen on time
Only diff you lose from 256gigs to 128gigs beside double the storage is ProRez which will suck up all my storage in 1 1/2 hours. Which is insane. Even not using it, the video is still very beautiful.
I have a Samsung s20 Plus 120 HZ my wife has a iPhone 11 60 HZ and you can totally know the difference. I went scrolling on hers and my eyes were going berserk trying to catch up from the blur
I am using 13pro it’s very smooth & one handle phone👍 I used 12pro max & 11 pro max but 13pro much better than my previous one. Battery life, display, smooth 120hz ,& great camera ..it’s a great & beautiful phone as per my experience😍
I really can’t understand people who say there isn’t much of a difference between a 120 hz and 60 hz and even give scandalous examples as putting the screens side by side. It’s noticeable at even if the phones are places 2 meters from your eyes. When I accidently turn on the battery saving mode I have the feeling my phone is freezing and lagging and sometimes I’m even panicking whats happening. I kept my old one plus 8 quite some time just cause iPhone couldn’t give us the 120 hz screen. This is not a gimmick it’s a game changer and is totally worthy to give 300 bucks more for 13 pro than the base 13. Cameras are not as impressive as I thought but it’s not to say cameras are bad it’s just that they aren’t that much of an upgrade. Battery is decent, performance is great, build quality is excellent, speakers are loud and clear. Overall the 13 pro is the perfect phone if you have the money. But don’t trust ANYONE who says 120 hz is not that noticeable and better than 60 hz. Difference is huuuuge.
I hope everyone in the comments truly understand how real this review is. I feel like people drastically aren’t capable of understanding money anymore or the value of things. Like most of you upgraded just for the 120hz display…. on a phone…. which I bet 85% of you use to just watch content. That 120 does nothing in that moment. I highly doubt most of you are pro-gamers or pro-anything for a phone of that price. I went back and forth between the 12pro and 13pro. It’s not end all be all.
It’s kind of what Apple will do with the upcoming SE which is only getting minor upgrades. If you think about it it’s just a 12 ProS. No hate on those who upgrade 😁
Large camera bump on back does not allow you to lay phone flat, and beveled squared edges are extremely uncomfortable Another case of form over function
Second day with my new 13 pro max from XR. I still miss my XR. I don’t know why. The phone is inexpensive for trade in. That’s the only reason I upgraded for the first time. I n usually keep my older phone. I don’t upgrade until my phone battery slows down. I did research before upgrading.I guess after learning about the new features, I’ll grow to luv the phone. 😔
I'm still curious to try an iOS device with a higher refresh rate screen, but they'll eventually add it to the lower models I'm thinking. Otherwise people aren't going to keep buying the same device year over year.
And one more thing when I clicked on the notification it brought me to the Pixel 6 pro vs IPhone 13 pro camera comparison video which was uploaded 2 weeks ago instead of this one but I just came here from the channel after many unsuccessful attempts and so I might be first😄😄
This is a very heavy phone. My elbow hurt, & my thumb went numb after 15 minutes. I cannot imagine holding this phone to my ear for any length of time. The cameras throw the balance off, too.
120Hz was super noticeable for me. When I put my phone in low battery mode I can definitely tell the difference. But my eyes are still sharp and I know not everyone is as sensitive to this.
I think the perceived minimal difference in smoothness between the 120 Hz display and the 60 Hz is more of a compliment to Apple's 60 Hz displays than it is an insult to the Promotion displays
Thanks! It’s more about lighting and know-how in this case, but the cameras used were a Canon R6 on a gimbal, Canon M6 II on a gimbal and a Canon C70 for some of the b-roll.
I got rid of my iPhone 12 Pro for an iPhone 13 Pro and I Love it. I love the camera. The battery life is great. It needs a charge less frequently. The RAW and ProRes options are awesome. But use them sparingly. I’m very happy with this phone.
getting the 12 last year made me I don’t need the telephoto camera that much which is why I got the 12 instead of the 12 pro. I will only get the 13 or 13 pro because the main problem with all the 12 models is battery life. Other than that I think the 13 will do good for you.
Great review....With the 13 Pro 128GB, if i don't care too much about,Zoom Quality( since i hardly zoom in for photos in general)/ProRes, Pro-raw, would the 13 be better for me? I feel for the main part i would be using the main lens more often. And, i want a great travel cam for photos of people( love a crispy face in photos) and i make photo books of family trips( so obviously i'd like for photos to print out great. Really the only thing i am worried about is the iPhone 13 pro being too heavy for me lol- i will put it in a rugged case so that will make it even heavier.
Great review and summed up nicely - got the answer I needed. On another note, what lens did you use to shoot this review? And what were you using for lighting? And the audio quality too! - and nice idea with location and filming at night. Really impressive.
This video is rendered at 60 Hz on UA-cam. That means that the video literally cannot show a 120Hz refresh rate. Now I agree that it's not huge, but I did notice it, and looking at this video, both screen look equally choppy, and that's because the video is rendered at 60 Hz.
Great review, great phone and great camera although I don’t agree that the picture quality is better than the pixel 6, for me that takes better shots 90 percent of the time.
If you’re going for a pro model then wait for the 14, if not, buy a 13 because you won’t notice a difference being their chip is the same. Only reason to wait for a base 14 is if you don’t care for the Mini model and want to wait for the 14 Max, a cheaper big iPhone.
Sorry but 120hz is better than the iPhones on 60hz the reason you dont see a massive difference is because the 13 is ramping down for what speed is needed. When scrolling through pictures for example and you are scrolling fast 120hz is seen.
Bruh the 120hz display is a huge difference, and its not just applicable to the iphone, but every device out there. The difference is night and day, there will never be a time I wont be able to tell them apart. That alone is a huge reason to not buy a phone with 60hz anymore.
Most people traded their phone in because company’s are offering 800-1000 towards you 13/13pro . I got 1k off my 13pro max 256 and I can trade in my phone to get the 14 if I want . Giving my Xs in for the 13pro max is night and day
in iraq the difference between the 13 and the 13 pro is around 300$ is it worth it for the 120hz display and the telephoto lens (the quality of the video is stunning)
13 pro camera is good but i guess nobody takes photos of people. If you do, the oil painting effect is quite noticeable an i would not call that a “pro” camera performance…also i own the 11 pro and 12 pro and dont see much difference except maybe for night shots. Daylight shots are really all similar, not even a diff in DR. Shots are good but lack contrast an i see the 11 pro doing better in that regard, But to each his own..
Fantastic video probably the best I’ve seen and I watch a lot. I will subscribe for sure. I agree with what you said I’m not much of a photographer at all I rarely take pics but I’ve wanted to try and get into it so for that reason I will buy the pro for the just in case scenario lol
What about the lens flare? Specially when shooting during night time? I feel like light sources are really a big issue for iphones during night shots, whats your experience so far? I really dont want to get mine out during night time because I'm afraid I might go mad.
I was wondering what gear did you use to film this video? If I had to guess, an A7Siii and a 35mm 1.4? Please tell me. The low light performance is brilliant!
This video was filmed with a mix of Canon R6+50mm 1.4 on a gimbal, and a Canon M6 II on a gimbal. They both do quite well in low light, especially that R6! What really made the difference was the person walking with a video light beside me the whole time :D
I use Iphone only becasue it makes you look rich… social status let’s say. I do not care of it’s performances or if Android is better as I only use it for phone calls, netflix and just one game (COD mobile).
Man, I thought I was the only one that felt that way about the main sensors on phones. It's just too wide. In fact on my Pixel 6 pro. I would almost prefer the zoom camera be the main lens. And the main be the ultra wide. I never use ultra wide shots. Well not to shoot really wide scenes. Anyway. I would use it more for separation.
idk if you are blind or sum but 120hz is literally night and day, it feels so choppy and slow going back to a 60hz panel I feel like you said that just to piss off people
I too didn’t notice the difference voiced out by many reviewers…im keeping both regular 13 and 13 pro max..and dont see noticeable difference when switching from pro max to regular 13..iphone 13 already has smooth screen
Really good review. I’m still glad I got the 13 Pro Max though, just for the screen size mostly. My main gripe with it is that iOS isn’t up to par anymore.
120hz alone is the biggest reason me including most of my friends and couple of my colleagues upgraded to it.. even my not so tech savvy mother is wanting to get rid of her 12 Pro after trying it haha...
Exactly, same here. 120 is so noticeable!!
Yeah, lol, what's wrong with his eyes
Though it feels kinda choppy, compared to the iPad Pro.
Frankly speaking i didnt find much of a difference in the 13 pro 120 hz.Its not noticable to all
@@Joshua9524 yea, I agree, in some areas it still feels like 60hz, but like in safari I can tell the 120hz.

True!
I love the 120Hz display on mine. It’s very noticeable when you turn on low power mode and it ramps it down to 60Hz max.

I loved the g2, but yeah, the camera was a disappointment. Remember the finger print scanner and power button on the back? So cool
120 Hz should be standard on all phones not only the pro. It's been a standard in android for ages

The camera bump shows how beautiful iPhone's back is...separates it from the rest. Easily recognized when you're holding iPhone

How tf do you have 4.1k subs and produce quality content like this? For sure I thought you at least had a million. God Bless you man keep it up!
Good video mate.keep going
yo the 120hz is a game changer for me. and its very noticeable if i use any other iphone with 60 hz.
The difference I saw with 120hz is what sold me. I’m surprised this guy said it’s hardly noticeable
I do notice it, but my point was that it's not a good enough reason to spend the extra money, IMO.
i've just discovered you and your videos are incredibily qualitative
Thank you for that! Much appreciated.
the 120 htz is clearly very noticeable. Like night and day lol. Maybe some people just can't see it, kind of like colorblindness maybe.
upgrading from iphone 7 to iphone 13 pro... im just excited about all the features ive been missing out on
Don’t get too excited
Subscribed because production value was so high. Great work. Happy to support.

Honest review so it's appreciated. I feel that 5g and 120Hz are absolutely noticeable. So much so that I wouldn't go back to 4g 60Hz.
Yeah great video...some good points made. I think most ppl disagree about the 120 refresh rate. Personally going from 60 to 90 I felt the difference.
The 13pro is amazing absolutely love the 120hz

Great review, great phone and great camera although I don’t agree that the picture quality is better than the pixel 6, for me that takes better shots 90 percent of the time.
I'm watching this a few months before the iPhone 14 comes out

If you’re going for a pro model then wait for the 14, if not, buy a 13 because you won’t notice a difference being their chip is the same. Only reason to wait for a base 14 is if you don’t care for the Mini model and want to wait for the 14 Max, a cheaper big iPhone.

idk if you are blind or sum but 120hz is literally night and day, it feels so choppy and slow going back to a 60hz panel I feel like you said that just to piss off people
The 120hz id noticeable 100%. Even more so when you switch back to 60hz when turning on low power mode. That part is inaccurate in this video.
What storage do you recommend? Is 128 good?
You are right.
apple needs to hire this man
on day to day i cant see much diff from my 12 pro max and with my iphone 13 pro .
Finally someone tells the truth about the screen refresh rate. I personally don't notice a big difference either.
So it's not just me then? Oh good. I thought I was going crazy haha.
I too didn’t notice the difference voiced out by many reviewers…im keeping both regular 13 and 13 pro max..and dont see noticeable difference when switching from pro max to regular 13..iphone 13 already has smooth screen
I literally just bought this cuz I had 1300 dollars burning a hole in my pocket :D - been meaning to get back to iphones :)
I really enjoyed this video. Honesty. Great edit. Creativity. Not a one trick pony, excellent work!!!
Great review
Really good review. I’m still glad I got the 13 Pro Max though, just for the screen size mostly. My main gripe with it is that iOS isn’t up to par anymore.
Love your video✨
Best review I have seen to date, extremely in-depth and professional! Shocked by the lack of subscribers!
I appreciate that! We just started the channel a couple of months ago, so we're pumped with the progress so far.
@@runthejoules Keep it up man, I'm sure you will blow up in no time!
