Yes! And every time, when it starts again, the style is different. For example in 1:38 it switches from a orchestral style to a solo piano style, like the civilization has become much more humble.
I think they do audio first then add the music and visuals to match. Otherwise you'd have to do a bunch of weird stuff like cut lines short to sync to the visuals.
During the first half of the video, there’s nothing that I could visualise other than a great medieval kingdom which once reigned supreme, now set ablaze and breaking at the seams and instead, having bedlam and chaos reign over every corner of the streets and buildings as its residents frantically flee the kingdom, slowly collapsing and disintegrating into nothing but unrecognisable remnants of what once used to be a prosperous and well-respected civilisation.
Nay, not a Kingdom, but an empire. Once above all, oncea more advanced than all, now falling to forces inside and out. Great men try to save it, but it is all in vain, and soon a dark age shall follow.
It feels like a rise of a fallen civilization, no matter what happens, humanity, civilization will survive, considering what events we're living through in this decade, it's good to know that.
1:39 I can't put my finger on why, but I just love that part well, I love the whole thing, but that part in particular activates some emotion or something
At some point I felt some "Irene Adler" theme vibes, from Sherlock tv series. Maybe it's the background harmony or maybe it's just me. Amazing song, in any case :)
Truly incredible music. You can almost visualise and feel what this music is telling us; with the guidance of the title. Even if I haven't watch the video yet.
Just wow, the moment I opened the Kurzgesagt video, I really felt the deep emotion conveyed by the music, what a masteripiece, you made me travel through so many emotions with it
I wouldn’t say so, cuz that painting isn’t a good fit for the uplifting music. Maybe when the settlers realize what they are doing and changing their ways
I could exaggerate and say that half the views on this video are mine or whatnot, but I can just honestly say I think I've listened to this hundreds of times. Amazing music.
Gosh you can really hear the narrative even with their music alone. It gives me that certain feeling almost sad, making tear up slightly. It's incredible! And then in the end it sounds more hopeful personally. Some thing most people over look sadly in thier videos. I wish I've do this sooner. Listen and watch the actual video next. I gives more weight and new appreciation to their superb video.
@@Nico-dt5hu imagine if that society's flag has one of our iconic landmarks that's been destroyed in a catastrophy on it as a reminder of what they endured
@@jayvhoncalma3458 it would probably have the Colosseum on it. Ancient buildings will stand the test of time compared to modern concrete structures. So its likely we would go back to making buildings the old way
Fuck it, if I'm ever gonna survive nuclear war im 100% making this both my anthem and war theme, can u imagine how much that would scare the crap out of raiders?
The music stops, then continues, like what kurzgesagt told. Humanity will continue even if there is massive plague, famine, war.
I have to think of that repeated line in Three Body Problem, about seeds of civilization enduring
It's difficult to kill us humans even if there's World War III on the horizon.
Humanity would always find a way to survive.
Yes! And every time, when it starts again, the style is different. For example in 1:38 it switches from a orchestral style to a solo piano style, like the civilization has become much more humble.
because I said so jk
I cant even begin to imagine how long it takes to make these tracks and sync it up with the videos.
Probably the same way movies get actors' lips to sync with studio-recorded sound. It's harder with music I suppose, but still the same process.
@@Miranox2 much harder because out of context they still sound like an independent song
I think they do audio first then add the music and visuals to match. Otherwise you'd have to do a bunch of weird stuff like cut lines short to sync to the visuals.
i know right? i mean i can't even imagine that they actually align the music with the videos

kurzgesagt: we just need music for a youtube video it's not that big of a deal

But it civilzations arised from the ruble and ashes of the fallen empire, as humanity will continue no matter the catastrophe.
This analogy perfectly fits the ottoman empire!

lets face it Civilisation collapse will happen, and at the current pace it could come soon
What a masterpiece, your music always takes me somewhere else, no other music has done that for me. Thank you.
Too good it’s becoming sus
It's incredibly epic. I can't imagine the work involved in creating these pieces and synchronizing them with the videos.

I can't put my finger on why, but I just love that part
well, I love the whole thing, but that part in particular activates some emotion or something
8:21 / 0:01 the beginning and end are my favorite parts but it's excellent theme work to have them bracket the piece
It's a perfect loop.
Rise and fall.
I can't even imagine how long it takes to reach civilization that can produce such great music.
Just give it a few minutes, and you'll hear a hopeful hum around a campfire (:
This just became my favorite in an instant. Truely awesome and the soundtrack i would like to hear when Civilization should collapse
I'd argue that this is music that should play once collapsed civilization starts producing factions of epic proportions
How about both? We all have our different opinions but the music won’t every stop, just like our civilization
@@asiankidlol3231 yea, for me it feels more like a rise of a civilization rather than a fall
Una obra maestra, la música te hace introducirte dentro del vídeo como no te imaginas, excelente trabajo
The start is better than any country's anthem and someone should adopt this as their anthem
This is definitely going into my music playlist. It excellently adds to both the dread and melancholy of the video.
Epic mountain, era crear una canción para un video, no una obra maestra
this was so good i almost *Collapsed*

Epic mountain musics epicness stretches higher than the mountains.
Nicely done once again. Listening to this in the car right now. I'll make sure to watch the video later
This feels like a fitting musical theme for that one Manifest Destiny painting. Nice!
