Woah! So many feelings in this episode. Join me for my first solo week alone in Mexico! After living in a van for 3 years I’m no stranger to van life and unknown places, however it’s easy to get caught up- become scared or feel lonely. Instead I’m embracing my solo road by gathering courage, seeing new places and challenging my self to vlog alone and drive to somewhere remote in my tiny home to off grid camp.

Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands. Not bad drone skills, it does take a little getting used to- so much going on- especially remembering to hit record. Setting your home location each time before you fly is important too, so if you and your drone loose connection it will come back to you.

What a cool idea, to have both of you sitting in your outside chairs at the same time, but I have to admit that it looked extremely cold for Jaz to jump into the cold Canadian water. The things you girls do for us! You both are the best and already looking forward to your next video.

This is gotta be one of the most well crafted travel channels on all of youtube. Your ability to balance raw know-how, stage presence, complex planning, and rolling with unexpected situations while also editing together all your beautifully taken footage at a professional level (do you do it yourselves? I don't see an editing credit so I assume you do at least sometimes...), some of which look like pretty difficult shots you clearly went out of your way to snag, is absolutely inspiring. I could count on one hand the number of travel docuseries made by bigtime production studios that managed to pull off the kind of long-term narrative you've managed to create

Since the start of UA-cam 2 and a half years ago we had zero experience with videography & editing. Ever since jumping two feet in we’ve been seriously committed to the craft. Learning new skills each week to make better videos that we are proud of & all of you can enjoy. I Jaz have had the best teacher & friend when it comes to editing & shooting. He trained me very well. Every difficult shot is SO worth it. As it makes all of you feel like you’re right with us 💛

Your drone shots were beautiful! Nice job. I love how you bravely embrace solo adventure. It is a different experience than traveling with a partner, and quite the adventure, meeting with your self. I’m 65 now, but recall fondly my solo adventures , especially bicycling down the west coast alone, waking up surrounded by coyotes, dodging a few dodgy characters, meeting a few amazing people. Doing solo is one of the best thing you can do for yourself...it shows you what you're are capable of doing and push yourself to learn/experience more. I don't regret any of my solo experiences!!

Crystal-I had just finished cleaning my place and walking my pooch. So satisfying. Then I drank my greens, sat down to watch your video: and watch you do some satisfying clean-up, greens drinking and hanging with the poochies. The similarities were amazing. But they ended there. I haven’t seen a beach, the sun or a cow.
Also, my pantry is intact. Great seeing you enjoy yourself solo. Cabo!

Don’t leave your van at a beach parking unless you can see it, you’ll get a smashed window and robbed, speaking from experience vacationing in Cabo!
Sorry that happened to you. We’ve spent over 7 months traveling by van in Mexico & we have left our van & know a lot of other who do as well. Nothing has happened. That’s not to say nothing will ever happen.

Hi Crystal Another well crafted vlog ,even by yourself its entrancing particularly how the dogs seem to realise Jazz isn't around so they have stepped up their love of you to compensate for her absence. Drone piloting just takes a little practice just like bike riding ,you'll do fine I just know.

Your personality oozes a calmness and such happy chill feeling. Anything special going on in Mexico for so many van lifers going there at the same time ? I have so many helpful ideas that I would like to share with you guys for cabin. I'm 65 but a young 65,retired hairdresser and my husband and I love the outdoors and camping,fishing,all of it. We had a fifth wheel for over 20 years we parked in a place in the country by a waterfall and we were there practically every minute we weren't working. Another thing is my family

Great vlog, Crystal. Your drone flying skills are pretty good, and the more you do it, the better you will be, like the saying goes, practice makes perfect. I would suggest that you play drone pilot a lot while you are alone. That was great when you did the split screen with Jazzy and both of you going swimming. I think you two are SO brave! I used to want to spend time around Tulum, in a different part of Mexico, but I'm hearing the drug cartels are making it unsafe around there anymore. You seem to feel safe in Baja, so maybe I need to go there instead. Oh, and thank goodness for your doggies!
